Here’s what Natalia said about planning the party- “Nina is a very happy and dynamic girl. For this reason, her mother wanted to have a garden theme for Nina’s party, but with a lot of colors. There was turquoise, pink and red! Also, she wanted to add owls into the garden to give it more personality, hence the woodland garden.

After that, we decided to develop the party by decorating the different desserts to look like animals in Nina’s Garden. We had honey chocolate cakes designed as Ladybugs and chocolate truffles as Bird Nests+Baby Birds. The sweet apples were made out of chocolate and topped with a little worm. They looked like real apples! There were also owls made out of chocolate and coconut flesh shaped like flowers. We used cake stands with bird and flower details to display some of the different desserts. Every single detail came together create the wealth and beauty of a real woodland garden.”

Rustic Owl Thanksgiving Party- FREE PRINTABLES!

This lovely RUSTIC OWL THANKSGIVING PARTY was submitted by Deanna Talwalkar of Mirabelle Creations! Such a beautiful party with so many wonderful ideas! The best part- the printable place cards, coloring sheets, leaves, and owl utensil holders can be downloaded for FREE here {the links are at the bottom of the post}!

Here is what Deanna had to say about planning the party- “{Dessert Table} We have a fall landscape painting by local artist, David Farmer, hanging in our living room. I’ve always envisioned a Thanksgiving dessert table set up beneath this beautiful painting. Since I wanted the painting to be the focus of the table, I kept most of the other decorations simple. And, like the painting, the desserts are rustic with just a little touch of glam.

For the desserts, I made a rustic Pumpkin Stack Cake. The Cake is a modern update to the classic Appalachian Apple Stack Cake (a rustic staple from Kentucky). It is made with pumpkin flavored cake and pumpkin butter between the many layers. It is served with cinnamon whipped cream. The dessert table also includes Maple Crème Cookies, Mini Apple Blueberry Pies, Pumpkin Pie, and Caramel Apples. I packaged extra Pumpkin Butter in mason jars to send home with all of the guests.

Although the painting is the focus of the table, I used a few other items to style the table. A gold pumpkin, gold acorns, a printable sign, and burlap cake stand flower also add rustic touches to the design.

{Thanksgiving Place Setting} The adult table place setting keeps with the rustic, glam look. The table is covered with burlap with a gold table runner down the center. Instead of a large centerpiece, red garden roses in small vases and mason jars decorated with gold paint sit down the center of the table. Spray painted ceramic turkeys and pumpkins embellish the table. A variety of red Spode plates sit atop woven charger plates. The napkins are tied with jute that was adorned with gold acorns.

{Kids Table} For the kids’ table, I first started by designing a printable collection which coordinates with the other printables. Even though the kids’ table incorporates the same colors and patterns, it’s not just a pint size version of the adult table. Fun touches at each place setting will keep the kids busy throughout Thanksgiving dinner. Owl coloring pages serve as place mats. Beside each plate, there are crayons and a little composition notebook that is covered with paper and a printable party circle. The kids can color on these items and on the craft paper that tops the table. The napkins are tied with a paper leaf and mini acorn owl made using felt.

The printable place cards, coloring sheets, leaves, and owl utensil holders can be downloaded for FREE here.”

Boo-rific Halloween Party!

This fabulous BOO-RIFIC HALLOWEEN PARTY was submitted by Rebekah Dempsey of A Blissful Nest!

Rebekah said- “Halloween is one of my most favorite times of year and it can be challenging to incorporate a kids and adult party theme. This year we chose a Boo-rific party theme sure to please both! This party was created for under a $100 which also made it budget friendly. Using mostly items from the house and store bought baked goods helped.

I love to personalize as many details as possible and printable decorations lets you do that. From cupcake toppers to personalized bottle wraps a party can have a custom look without the price tag.

Desserts were kept simple. Red velvet cupcakes, ghost cookies and oreo cakesters were all from our local grocery store. Green Goblin Jello made in these antique jello molds were a fun spooky treat! Yummy salt water caramel cake pops from Starbucks mixed with these darling owl chocolate lollipops from FunFavors were a fun grab and go treat for the kids.

For decorations I grabbed some Cinderella and fairytale pumpkins from the local store and placed popcorn cones in between. Birch wood lollipop stands and a cupcake stand from Cross My Love gave the table just the right amount of rustic charm it needed.

So with a few simple tricks you can make a unforgettable Halloween party for all!”

Look Whoo’s Turning One! 1st Birthday, Woodland Owl Party

One look at this WOODLAND OWL 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Kim Spears of Kim Kalyn Photography and your heart will just melt…
Here is what Kim said about the party- “For Hayden’s first birthday we wanted to continue the owl theme from his nursery into his party details. In order to give the party a woodsy feel we incorporate rounds of wood and bark to display party treats. Ferns and other forest florals (provided by the amazing Rook and Rose Floral Boutique) were also displayed in glass vases and jars in different sizes and shapes. We purchased a special owl onesie as my son’s birthday outfit from We Choose Joy on Etsy. Another Etsy purchase was the adorable owl bunting (from Just A Squidge) that we tied to his fabric backdrop. His sweet owl invitations and thank you’s were designed by Little Pickle Photography and Design. Lastly, there were delicious owl themed goodies galore! Owl cookies, cupcakes, owl’s nests, and candy owl’s eggs were truly a hit. In order to carry on the outdoor element of his party, we gave Hayden a Dogwood Tree to plant in our yard as his first birthday gift.”
