Vintage Shabby Chic + Burlap & Lace Wedding

I am in love with this VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC + BURLAP & LACE WEDDING RECEPTION submitted by Kimberly Erickson! The details here are simply gorgeous! Kim spent months & months planning this event. Every little aspect just screams perfection.

Here is what Kim had to say about planning the event- “When Jessie and I happened upon seven adorable farmhouse windows, we just knew that they would be perfect for her vintage shabby chic wedding reception.  They were our inspiration in finding a sweet, simple and meaningful way to decorate and celebrate her very special day.

Some of our favorite and most meaningful details included:
Vintage books wrapped in burlap and lace and hand stamped with personal sentiments.
Rose colored goblets, a wedding gift given to Jessie’s grandmother many years ago, were draped in pearls.
Vintage teacups, some belonging to Jessie’s great-grandmothers, were used to hold rose-topped cupcakes.
Perfectly sweet Blue Ball Mason Jars were thrifted and used to hold simple rose bouquets.
Frames were made and farmhouse windows used to display pictures of the bride and groom.  Lots and lots of pictures.  Since, of course, a picture says a thousand words :)
Wood blocks were stained, covered with vintage floral papers and vinyl lettering applied to personalize each guest table and display area.
A vintage typewriter, belonging to Jessie’s great great grandfather; a vintage silver vase, costume jewelry and the sweetest pink gloves, belonging to her great great grandmother; were used to decorate the sign in table.
And then, of course, some details were included just because they are meaningful to Jessie and Zach…namely, owls :)

And some things were included just because Jessie’s loves them…
Burlap and lace, roses {simple & muted in color}, salt water taffy–wedding favors packaged in the cutest brown and white polka dot bags, vintage clothespins wrapped in old book pages and tied with lace and buttons, little aqua blue lovebirds, silhouettes, initials, white pearled gumballs, pinwheels, personalized banners, old doors, vintage keys, Scrabble tiles and a dessert buffet of favorite pastries and pies…After all, a day celebrating the love of your life should be filled with all the things you love, don’t you think?”

Burlap and Lace Wedding Dessert Table

My next winning party feature goes to this gorgeous BURLAP AND LACE WEDDING DESSERT TABLE by Jenny Keller of Jenny Cookies. Oh my goodness…I think I’ve seen a little piece of heaven. This dessert station is absolutely beautiful. I adore the vintage goodness. And the lace, oh, it’s just perfect. From the old suitcases to the coffee filter poms to the burlap rosette flower on the cake…it is all just stunning.
This is what Jenny said about her dessert bar- “Every time I put a dessert table together I think to myself, this one is one of my favorites. Then the next table comes along and I think the same thing. They can’t all be my favorite, but this particular burlap and lace table I did for a recent wedding ranks pretty high on the list.”

Citrus Themed Wedding

This weekend’s winning party feature goes to this stunning CITRUS THEMED WEDDING submitted by Enchanted Events & Design. Alexandra is so talented. How fresh and modern is this dessert table? Swoon. Everything is oh so pretty.
Alexandra said- “Since weddings are my passion I decided to do a dessert table and table seating in this style. I started my design when I found the yellow and white floral table linen. I used it as an overlay for both table designs to save on the cost of having to buy enough fabric to cover an entire table.
After selecting the linen I decided to use a traditional citrus color theme. I focused mainly on white and yellow but threw in a few accents of orange and lime. I wanted the table scapes to have a light, airy, and cheery feel to them so I decided to create a mirror backdrop. The table was laid out near some big windows and the mirrors were able to reflect all of the light in the room. I picked up these full length mirrors at Target for only $4.99 each and I customized them by adding a frosted citrus image to the 2 end ones and the bride and groom’s monogram and wedding date to the center mirror a super easy DIY task!
To keep the cost down on the dessert table I combined home baked items with food I picked up from Wal-Mart! The lemon pies, cupcakes, mini lemon cakes, lemon drop candies, orange gummies, Mr. Goodbars and mints were all bought from the store. I supplemented these with the candy dipped marshmallows and lemon Jell-O jigglers with sprigs of mint leaves. The meringues were bought from Albertsons so everything was purchased cheap and easy! The only big ticket item is the gorgeous cake by Jaqki’s Cake Creations.
For the seated table I again used the same linen as the dessert table. I complimented the linens by adding a round lemon yellow placemat. The centerpiece I got from a local florist. I brought in my own white vase which I got from Michaels for under $8 with a 40% off coupon. To save money on the centerpiece I gave the florist general instructions on what I wanted. Instead of bringing in a picture of a specific centerpiece or flowers to use I told him I was creating a wedding table scape inspired by citrus. I wanted him to use mainly yellow and white flowers but he could include small touches of orange and green and most importantly I wanted the centerpiece to be around $20 or less. So overall the centerpiece with the vase was under $30. I also designed all of the invitations, favor boxes, menus, table numbers and food signage for the design, which will be available shortly in my Etsy shop.”
Again, amazing job Alexandra! Congratulations on being chosen as this weekend’s winning party feature!
