Vintage Shabby Chic + Burlap & Lace Wedding

I am in love with this VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC + BURLAP & LACE WEDDING RECEPTION submitted by Kimberly Erickson! The details here are simply gorgeous! Kim spent months & months planning this event. Every little aspect just screams perfection.

Here is what Kim had to say about planning the event- “When Jessie and I happened upon seven adorable farmhouse windows, we just knew that they would be perfect for her vintage shabby chic wedding reception.  They were our inspiration in finding a sweet, simple and meaningful way to decorate and celebrate her very special day.

Some of our favorite and most meaningful details included:
Vintage books wrapped in burlap and lace and hand stamped with personal sentiments.
Rose colored goblets, a wedding gift given to Jessie’s grandmother many years ago, were draped in pearls.
Vintage teacups, some belonging to Jessie’s great-grandmothers, were used to hold rose-topped cupcakes.
Perfectly sweet Blue Ball Mason Jars were thrifted and used to hold simple rose bouquets.
Frames were made and farmhouse windows used to display pictures of the bride and groom.  Lots and lots of pictures.  Since, of course, a picture says a thousand words :)
Wood blocks were stained, covered with vintage floral papers and vinyl lettering applied to personalize each guest table and display area.
A vintage typewriter, belonging to Jessie’s great great grandfather; a vintage silver vase, costume jewelry and the sweetest pink gloves, belonging to her great great grandmother; were used to decorate the sign in table.
And then, of course, some details were included just because they are meaningful to Jessie and Zach…namely, owls :)

And some things were included just because Jessie’s loves them…
Burlap and lace, roses {simple & muted in color}, salt water taffy–wedding favors packaged in the cutest brown and white polka dot bags, vintage clothespins wrapped in old book pages and tied with lace and buttons, little aqua blue lovebirds, silhouettes, initials, white pearled gumballs, pinwheels, personalized banners, old doors, vintage keys, Scrabble tiles and a dessert buffet of favorite pastries and pies…After all, a day celebrating the love of your life should be filled with all the things you love, don’t you think?”

Vintage Valentines Day Party Activity- 10 Things I Love About You

Hello fans! Thanks so much for your sweet comments, etc! Today I’m going to show you the Vintage Valentines Day Party Activity!  10 Things I Love About You
Before the party I cut out a ton of pink and red hearts. I purchased the cute muslin bags {above} from etsy shop, Tiny Bubbles. I tied a fun vintage skeleton key to each bag {keys were purchased on eBay} and used small alphabet stamps {found at Hobby Lobby} to stamp, “i love you” on each bag.
I had all the kids at the party chose a person they wanted to give the bag to.
They then wrote 10 different reasons why they loved that person on 10 individual hearts.
I had my sewing machine out and ready and sewed the 10 hearts together {making it a long garland} as each child finished…

I then put the sewn garland into each childs ‘i love you’ bag to take home…. Photobucket

Step one: Take 2 cupcake liners and stick a pin through the center of them… Photobucket
Step 2: Fold/scrunch the 2 liners around the pin like so… Photobucket
Step three: Put a dab of hot glue on the tip of the liners… Photobucket
Step four: Insert the pin into the styrofoam ball… Photobucket
Step four: Push the pin all the way into the styrofoam so the cupcake liners are securely glued to the ball…Photobucket
Step five: Carefully open the liners making sure the pin is all the way inserted into the styrofoam. If it isn’t, push it all the way in…. Photobucket
Step six: Repeat until the whole ball is covered with lovely cupcake liners! Attach fishing line or a ribbon to hang! {For this particular pom pom I left a space uncovered so I could set the ball on a large glass candlestick}… PhotobucketTo see more of this Vintage Valentines Party go here!
