This is what Kim said about the shoot- “This Love, Watercolor at the Beach Engagement shoot was inspired by the Pantone Colors Poppy Red 17-1664 and Linen 12-1008. When we paired the colors together, the Linen made us think of sand so we decided on the eclectic Hotel Maya in Long Beach for the shoot location. We mixed in wood tones that worked perfectly with the Red Poppy and Linen colors. Our “love at the beach” theme took off. On the morning of the shoot, the sun gods smiled upon us and made the amazing photoʼs by Lauren Avila Photography just stunning! The shots on the sand with the Long Beach shoreline in the background are magical and the sun washing over our dessert set up is stunning. Romance Etc. provided just we had envisioned for the floral decor. The Airplants and pops of flowers in the natural Manzinita branches are perfect! The engaged couple was so adorable together. Her ombre dress was a piece of art on its own. It looks like it was tailor made for her and was perfect for our color palette. Her hair by Jamie from Thairapy Salon and make-up by Jolieke, Poppy Red lipstick and beautiful smile were flawless! The whole day was amazing and all of the vendors that participated really stepped up! Thank You Hotel Maya for the venue and all the the vendors that make what we love to do so much easier! This shoot made me realize why I love living in the L.B.C.”

Some of my favorite elements of this love letter party are:
The mini clothespins topped with paper hearts
The “envelope” cookies
The white doilies on the favor bags
and MORE!

Here’s what Fara said about planning the party- “This table arrangement was made to present our new Valentine’s Day printable collection. We were inspired by love letters. We arranged all the treats on a sofa to make it special and different. A cute red mailbox filled with adorable envelope shaped cookies was a great addition to the arrangement. There were also heart-shaped cupcakes and lollipops, which were decorated with lovely paper straws. The favor bags were simple red bags decorated with doilies, cloth pins and adorable heart shaped stickers. We had lots of fun making this beautiful and simple dessert table and my kids and their friends had the most amazing afternoon snack ever!”

Modern Valentine’s Day Party

This MODERN VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY was submitted by Bird of Bird’s Party. I love how bright and cheerful this party is! It’s also fun to see a Valentine party that strays from the traditional red and pink (even though I can’t get enough of that either!).

Some of my favorite elements of this unique, modern Valentine’s Day party are:
The wooden peg dolls painted to match the party colors
The milk bottle printable wraps
The cake pops adorned with fondant hearts
The colorful ribbon garland hanging on the front of the dessert table
and MORE!

Here’s what Bird had to say about planning the party- “I was feeling a little tired of the overly pink and red Valentine’s Day designs. So using my new Modern Valentine’s Day collection, I created a unique Valentine’s party. I utilized the small surface and multiple levels of an old dresser for my dessert table. The stunning ribbon garland from A to Zebra Celebrations really helped to ad color and texture to the ensemble.

Sweet treats on the dessert table included homemade cream cheese cake pops, fuchsia, yellow and blue French macarons, vanilla cupcakes adorned with wrappers and cupcake toppers and a homemade passion fruit cake topped with the most adorable peg dolls from Craft That Party, as well as assorted candy in the colors of the party.

Favors included a little Valentine’s Favor Box from Bird’s Party printable Collection, filled with Hershey’s Kisses.”

I love the romantic, nautical theme of this Valentine’s Day party! Here are some of my favorite elements:

The various bottles containing messages and sealed with corks
The recurring saying “Hooked on You” The image of the anchor wearing a heart
and MORE!

Apothecary Jars
Corked Mini Glass Jars
Glass Jars with Wood Spoons
Milk Bottles
Striped Paper Straws
Whirly Pops
Plastic Gumball Tubes

This is what Elise said about planning this party- “Wouldn’t we all love to receive a romantic message in a bottle from some mysterious source? Whether the sender is anonymous or someone we know, how romantic to receive a beautiful love letter – floating atop the waves!

To style the dessert table for this party, I used lots of nautical items mixed in with the Valentine’s theme – anchors (which I am in LOVE with right now!), hooks, bottles, twine, sand, starfish and sea shells. I love all these elements mixed with the white, pale pink, red and gray colors of the printables I designed to go along with it.

I kept the food for the table very simple and easy for any host to re-create including vanilla cupcakes, creaming soda jell-O pots, meringue cakes, strawberry milk, lollipops, Hershey’s Kisses and assorted candy.

I chose William Gunn Jetty, Manly, Brisbane for the location since it’s very much in keeping with the nautical theme. I was so lucky that a beautiful replica Schooner sailing boat was in dock and made THE perfect background for the table.

The printable set used in this party is available in my Etsy shop for just $10! It includes party dots, bunting flags, large bottle labels, mini bottle wrap labels and water bottle labels. Also included are straw flags, 6″x4″ party signs, editable food tents and patterned papers to write your love letters on!”

Here’s what Lisa had to say about planning this party- “My daughter wanted to have a tea party with her friends and their American Girl dolls. What better time of year to do a tea party then Valentine’s day with all the hearts and pink colors?
We held the party at my mom’s house in a room that was already painted to perfectly match the color scheme.

I wanted the girls to have outfits that they and their dolls could wear for the tea party. My mom made the matching skirts and shirts for the girls and their dolls (the girls’ tank tops were purchased). After getting dressed, the girls then went to the dress up station where they picked their jewels and hair accessories.

The girls enjoyed pb&j heart shaped sandwiches served in a wooden fruit basket with a side of cut fruit. There were also marshmallows dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with hearts, vanilla cupcakes with sweet cream frosting, pink juice and pretend tea. The dolls had their very own table and mini versions of some of the foods.”
