90th Birthday Colorful Garden Party

This 90TH BIRTHDAY COLORFUL GARDEN PARTY was submitted by Kenna O’Brien of Miss Party Mom. What a lovely celebration celebrating something so special! You can tell that Kenna loves her husband’s grandmother very much!

Here is what Kenna had to say about planning the party- “This party was for my husband’s sweet Grandmother, Roberta who turned 90 this Summer. My mother-in-law envisioned lots of bright floral garden-style decor mixed with a pool side feel, so I did just that. We rented the pool deck at the Historic Santa Maria Inn in Santa Maria, CA and I was assisted by their Event Coordinator, Stephanie Purple, with set up. This party was incredibly fun to shop for with all of the great colors and girly touches. I really wanted to create something with a “90″ in it to honor such a special age so I crafted (from muffin size cupcake tins) one to be the main table centerpiece. I ombred it pink with spray paint and the entire thing cost me $8 and took about an hour from start to finish. My friend Hannah Henry and I worked on the branches that surrounded it, they are made of of scrapbook paper, cut in to leaves with floral wire sandwiched in between them. This was tedious but costs next to nothing if you have even just small scraps of scrapbook paper lying around!

The graphics really made the table pop, from the pennants to the cupcake picks, Jodi Broglio of Jolio Design really helped me tie it all together with the perfect party package of graphics.

Other special details from the party included our Family Tree table which had photos of Roberta through the years- as well as her family. They were displayed in antique looking brightly spray painted frames and our version of a guest book (frame matting for a future party photo) was also on the table to be signed.

Hannah & I made flower and “90″ shaped sugar cookies for the party favors, I handmade the cake pops and Gina’s Piece of Cake in the Santa Maria Mall did the center cake and all of the cupcakes.”

Lauren said this about planning the party- “I had WAY too much fun designing and styling everything for Camp Christmas! It seems like camping parties are so popular right now so I thought what better way to celebrate my absolute favorite time of the year than with a camping Christmas Party??!!

The party started with everyone gathered around the “tissue paper” camp fire. This was a play date with lots of little ones so a real fire was out of the question. And we live in south Louisiana where it can be hot Christmas day! The kids sat on hay bales and roasted their s’more pops as we sang Christmas carols. The s’more pops were a big hit for the kids!

We sat outside for a picnic lunch of PB&J’s, fresh fruit, veggies and trail mix. I found woodland animal ornaments at Tuesday Morning which added a special touch to each place setting. The mommas enjoyed hot chocolate from the hot chocolate bar with lots of fun fixings and blueberry scones while the kids played in the back yard.

I designed a Nature Scavenger Hunt as an activity for the party. I placed snowflakes and beetles around the yard and there were plenty of leaves and gumballs for the kids to fill their baskets. I purchased the wood baskets at Hobby Lobby and added yarn balls and a name tag for each guest. After the scavenger hunt, everyone got to take a picture in the Camp Christmas tent.

We finished the party by decorating ice cream cone “Christmas Trees.” Icing… candy… the kids LOVED it!!!

The ENTIRE printable collection is available in my ETSY shop for $15. Collection includes, cupcake toppers & wrappers, water bottle labels, blank place cards, favor tags, napkin rings, hot chocolate bar sign, 3, 5 & 8 inch party circles, straw flags, mini candy bar wrapper, Hershey bar wrapper, Nature Scavenger Hunt card, 20×20 Camp Christmas sign and a Merry Christmas banner! (Collection can be personalized for $30).”

Mad Scientist Themed Birthday Party

How fun is this MAD SCIENTIST SCIENCE THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Cris McGrath of Crissy’s Crafts!

Here is what Cris had to say about planning the party- “What is a better way to learn about Science than having a Mad Scientist party? Our dessert table was turned into a real lab with edible sweets like atom balls, lab rats, brains, frogs, crystal rock and bacteria culture, to name a few.

The party icons from the Mad Scientist printable collection were used to decorate the push up pops to look like real test tubes, colored water was served in a Beaker set, jello with gummy balls and worms in petri dish and green and blue M&Ms in test tubes were a must to make the edible lab a success.

Science wall decal was used as a backdrop to make the edible lab more realist. To add more details to the dessert table, a snake and a giant ant were displayed in glass containers and metal trays were used to display some of the goodies. To add more fun, the children’s table was also styled to resemble a lab. A microscope, funnels and beakers were added to the table along with coordinating party ware. Black wrapping paper with scientific formulas written on it was used for the children’s table backdrop.

Some of our mad scientist projects were Lava Lamp, Glitter Green Slime and Crystal Bubbles. The party favors were Mad Scientist totes for the girls and fabric string bag for the boys filled with pop rock magic potion, bubbles in test tubes and glow in the dark bouncy balls. It was MAD FUN party!”

Halloween Trick or Treat Party

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! This fabulous HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT PARTY was submitted by Karen Ayars! Such a darling set up! I love how the whole party was on a front porch….very fitting!

This is what Karen said about planning the party- “I did a VERY simple Halloween table this year. I wanted to make something affordable and easy that anybody could reproduce. We always set up a big Halloween table on Halloween night for the trick or treaters and many people in our town do too, so I wanted to do something that could be used on a porch on Halloween night. Most decoration items are from the dollar store like the signs, the skull, the RIP pieces, keep out tape, spider cut outs, spider webs on the table, happy halloween mat on the floor, tomb stone candy, monster cookie on sticks (inside the black caldron). The treats I also kept simple: cupcakes decorated with supermarket bought decor, candy, lollipops and rock candy at the local candy store, apple juice, and because I’m Brazilian there has to be some brigadeiro somewhere… and that’s what’s inside the little plastic containers with Oreo crumbles on top and an edible RIP sign from Wal-Mart.”
