Shannon said this about planning the party- ”I figured at age 2, this would be the last year I could call the shots on my son’s birthday party theme. Even though he’s growing up so fast, I knew I wanted a sweet theme that was still a bit babyish. His first and favorite song has been Twinkle Twinkle Little Star so I knew that was the way to go.

I convinced a friend to save her old windows for me for the backdrop, which I backed with a navy shower curtain and tiny twinkle lights. I whipped up some puffy white clouds to hang above it using felt and batting. Then I went crazy with the desserts. From the gold glittered cake pops to the shooting star sugar cookies to the pineapple stars, everything was homemade. I added a bit of gold washi tape to all of my white serving pieces to tie it together a bit as well.

Since I went crazy with the dessert table, I cut myself some slack and ordered pizza. But not before a Star Bar was born! I filled glass bottles with tea & lemonade and covered anything that stood still with those little gold teacher’s star stickers. Some homemade constellation embroidery told everyone about it!”

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower

This precious TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR BABY SHOWER was submitted by Lisa Costin of A Charming Fete. I love the idea of centering a baby shower {or a birthday party} around a nursery rhyme / song! If you’re planning a shower and need some ideas then look no further than this darling celebration.

Party details and vendor list at bottom of post…

Rock candy sticks available for purchase here.

Blue striped paper straws {used for cupcake toppers} available to purchase here.
Here are the party details from Lisa- “This was a glamorous but whimsical “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” baby shower. We wanted to do a fresh take on this classic theme. We added TONS of handcrafted details, such as: DIY paper star garlands and “barber pole” dowel rod/star centerpieces, and blue ikat print table runners. We also added lots of sparkly, glittery details to really up the glam factor. Here are some more details: Decor: We used 1 long, dark wood guest table to seat all 25 guests. The massive overhanging chandelier set the stage perfectly for a “twinkly”, glittery celebration! We created a chic 25 ft. blue ikat table runner to pull in all of the shades of blue and to add a modern touch. Silver chargers also added an extra element of glam. We created 4 tall, blue hydrangea centerpieces and added (hand-painted) blue and white striped “barber pole” dowel rods and glued silver stars on top (we used paper mache stars painted in silver metallic and large stars cut from silver glitter card stock). It was a pop of fun to add to an otherwise ordinary floral arrangement. We added powder blue and white striped straws to each guest’s water glass to mimic the barber pole vibe. The menus and place cards also lent a modern vibe. Silver glitter stars were glued to each guest’s place card. The favors were added to each place setting (mini tea infuser with cup and saucer- filled with blue candy and draped in blue satin ribbon). The Dessert Table: We wanted the dessert table to be a focal point of the room- sweet with handcrafted details but glitzy and glam with lots of sparkle. We created 12 paper star garlands in 2 shades of blue and dangled them from the backdrop using fishing wire. A large metallic silver frame hung behind the center of the dessert table. We painted an ordinary frame with metallic silver paint and sprayed it with glitter. The letters, “twinkle, twinkle little star… do you know how loved you are?” were cut from ordinary card stock using a Silhouette Cameo machine. We also created custom cupcake toppers from blue and white paper straws and silver glittery stars. We kept the dessert items simple yet delicious (and inexpensive!): white chocolate and blue drizzled pretzels, vanilla meringues, cupcakes with blue icing and handmade scalloped wrappers, star shaped cookies, baklava, blue rock candy sticks and an adorable cake. We also swagged long crystal strands from the front of the dessert tab le for a little extra sparkle and mounted DIY tissue paper puffs to cover to top points. We created simple star-shaped dessert labels and placed them in mini crystal-like place card holders.” Vendors and Credits: Event Design and Styling: A Charming Fete  Photography: Ackey+Z Cake: Michelangelo’s Bakery Paper Products (menus, place cards, dessert labels): A Charming Fete  Striped paper straws: Bake Me A Party Dessert label holders: Luna Bazaar Items used in this party that are available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop: Blue striped Paper Straws Rock Candy Sticks Cupcake Liners / Wrappers
