Karen- “This was a Thanksgiving Party focused on ideas for the Kids’ table and entertainment.”
Up next on KPI, a darling MODERN KID-FRIENDLY THANKSGIVING PARTY + TABLE submitted by Paula of Frog Prince Paperie! There are so many fabulous Thanksgiving decorating ideas here! Everything is just adorable! You can’t beat the printable set for just $10, too!
Paula said this about planning the party- “In years past, I’ve made a “kids’ table” for the children to sit at apart from the adults; banishing the kids to their own space works out well when there’s a big crowd gathering to eat. This year for a million reasons, it will be just my nuclear family for dinner. I imagine that we aren’t the only ones not seating for twenty, so I created some inspiration for those wanting a kid-friendly table that appeals to adults as well.
Never underestimate what you can do with a few yards of inexpensive fabric. While most of the supplies for our table came from my (rather extensive) fabric pile, I did pick up brown polka dot and brown thatch fabric on sale and created a backdrop by covering a canvas and a quick no-sew runner by ironing the hems.
Each place at the table was set with a fun plate topped with an orange napkin. The napkin was wrapped in burlap ribbon for texture and a thin orange satin ribbon for contrast. Our “We are so thankful” printables were a great accent. Silverware in turkey branded holders were a fun and colorful addition. Finishing the place settings were the busy boxes for the kids to play with and place cards. The place cards are a must have for kid tables – they love seeing their names and it an easy thing to do to make them feel extra special.
Occupied kids are happy kids. Once dinner is done, let them reach for a “busy box” at their place setting. We filled ours with crayons, playdough, and a Thanksgiving thankful turkey craft. It’s just enough to give them somthing to do while finishing dinner as a family.
Something new we tried this year (since my oldest can now read) were conversation starters. There were giggles all around at the table, so we’ve declared them a hit!
You can buy the printables seen in this party in our Etsy shop for just $10!”
This lovely RUSTIC OWL THANKSGIVING PARTY was submitted by Deanna Talwalkar of Mirabelle Creations! Such a beautiful party with so many wonderful ideas! The best part- the printable place cards, coloring sheets, leaves, and owl utensil holders can be downloaded for FREE here {the links are at the bottom of the post}!
Here is what Deanna had to say about planning the party- “{Dessert Table} We have a fall landscape painting by local artist, David Farmer, hanging in our living room. I’ve always envisioned a Thanksgiving dessert table set up beneath this beautiful painting. Since I wanted the painting to be the focus of the table, I kept most of the other decorations simple. And, like the painting, the desserts are rustic with just a little touch of glam.
For the desserts, I made a rustic Pumpkin Stack Cake. The Cake is a modern update to the classic Appalachian Apple Stack Cake (a rustic staple from Kentucky). It is made with pumpkin flavored cake and pumpkin butter between the many layers. It is served with cinnamon whipped cream. The dessert table also includes Maple Crème Cookies, Mini Apple Blueberry Pies, Pumpkin Pie, and Caramel Apples. I packaged extra Pumpkin Butter in mason jars to send home with all of the guests.
Although the painting is the focus of the table, I used a few other items to style the table. A gold pumpkin, gold acorns, a printable sign, and burlap cake stand flower also add rustic touches to the design.
{Thanksgiving Place Setting} The adult table place setting keeps with the rustic, glam look. The table is covered with burlap with a gold table runner down the center. Instead of a large centerpiece, red garden roses in small vases and mason jars decorated with gold paint sit down the center of the table. Spray painted ceramic turkeys and pumpkins embellish the table. A variety of red Spode plates sit atop woven charger plates. The napkins are tied with jute that was adorned with gold acorns.
{Kids Table} For the kids’ table, I first started by designing a printable collection which coordinates with the other printables. Even though the kids’ table incorporates the same colors and patterns, it’s not just a pint size version of the adult table. Fun touches at each place setting will keep the kids busy throughout Thanksgiving dinner. Owl coloring pages serve as place mats. Beside each plate, there are crayons and a little composition notebook that is covered with paper and a printable party circle. The kids can color on these items and on the craft paper that tops the table. The napkins are tied with a paper leaf and mini acorn owl made using felt.
The printable place cards, coloring sheets, leaves, and owl utensil holders can be downloaded for FREE here.”

Even though Thanksgiving is just a few days away there is still time to purchase this collection. All you do is print & cut..and you have it all! A simple way to spice up your Thanksgiving!
Here is what Paula said about the dessert table- “I handmade everything myself from the sweet treats to the decadent decor! I even made the brown curtains out of a $15 bed sheet from WalMart. Cut down the middle, hem the sides, and VIOLA instant chic drapes! Caramel Apples are a staple for this time of year. I filled a basket with these yummy treats on top of some patterned paper from the new THANKSGIVING COLLECTION. Sticks take the place of popsicle sticks and a small accent of tied twine on top. How about some caramel corn? Sweet, sticky, crunchy and oh so easy to make. A sweet drink is always a nice choice for a dessert table. Apple cider is not only yummy in your tummy, but makes your house smell super UHmazing while you are making it! Molasses cookies are soft and flavorful. Right out of the oven with some cider screams THANKSGIVING! If you are watching your waistline this season then you have to try Pumpkin Pie Frozen Yogurt. Served in hollowed out mini pumpkins with a dessert flag makes you feel like you are eating something more decadent than you are!
The patterned paper in mynew collection can be wrapped around candles and made into a table runner. Napkin rings and place cards bring unity to the table through the same brown and white pattern. Add drink flags to your glasses or party circles for a festive touch. Remember to lay out the “I Am Thankful For…” cards and have your guests reflect on what they are thankful for this year. Hang the cards up with the “Give Thanks” banner and you are all set! Don’t forget about the kids this Thanksgiving! My next party feature goes to this beautiful RUSTICTHANKSGIVING PARTY submitted by Xiomara Roman of A Styled Fete. What a gorgeous take on Thanksgiving! Such a pretty location for a photo shoot. I love the purple and turquoise colors! Amazing job, Xiomara! Thanks for your submission. So happy to share this party this weekend.
Here is what Xiomara said about the party- “A couple of weeks ago I styled a Thanksgiving photoshoot we called “Thankful”. It was full of rich colors, native- inspired details and Fall whimsy. I met with my photographer, Carly Jones at this grassy open field in Hanover, VA which was the perfect setting for the shoot. I used stacked hay bales as a table, earthy elements and textures to create the rustic “feel” I wanted.
The spread for the table included apple cider donuts on sticks, carrot cupcakes, turkey, leaf shaped cheese and tomato “bow and arrows”, veggie chips inside mini pumpkin bowls and of course, pumpkin pie. The table was also decorated with a “thankful for…” garland which had tags that said “Life, Family, Health, Love”.The kids table included a white leaf shaped cardstock with coloring pencils as an activity. The wooden utensils were stamped with a “Thank you”. Styling of tables and Decor: A Styled Fete www.astyledfete.comPhotography: Carly Jones Photography www.carlyjonesart.com
