White Gable Box, Bakers Twine- Kara’s Party Shop

I love these old fashioned lollipops in the shop. I attached cute tags (part of the rainbow printable collection) to the lollipops with bakers twine (also from the shop). I cut out the tags with my scallop paper punch.

These napkin holders were one of my favorite elements of the party. I used mini chevron bags to hold napkins, a candy stick and a paper straw with a cute printable straw topper…all from the shop. I tied printed wooden spoons to the bags with bakers twine…available here.

The invitation is also part of the printable party pack…shown here with red ribbon weaved through one side.

I cut cloud shapes out of white card stock and used them as fun straw toppers. Glass milk bottles, paper straws and printable drink label from the shop.

The layered jello was super fun in the mini plastic parfait cups from the shop.

One of the cute images from the printable party pack was printed on iron on transfer paper. The “you are my sunshine” was then printed onto linen favor bags from the shop.

Milk bottles, rainbow drink labels & striped paper straws from Kara’s Party Shop.

The same “you are my sunshine” image was printed on a smaller scale and used as cupcake toppers (attached to striped paper straws). A yellow pom sun was also attached to each topper.

Bubble favors were adorned with rainbow heart patterned printable flags (also part of the rainbow party pack).

Oranges were cut in half and hollowed out then filled with jello. Cute happy birthday wooden spoons from the shop were inserted into each orange jello cup.

I filled individual popsicle molds with rainbow candies and attached a printable tag (also from the printable collection) with bakers twine.

I filled ice cube trays with various juice and fruit. The ice cubes were delicious in Sprite.

Rock candy sticks (from the shop) are one of my favorite party treats.

I added paper fringe to the tops of paper chevron print bags.

Doughnut holes served as “Doughnut Clouds”. Printable topper from the rainbow printable collection.

Mini plastic cordial cups from the shop were filled with rainbow candies. A printable tag from the party pack was then simply placed on top of the candy in the center of the bowl for extra cuteness.

Here’s what Heldy had to say about planning the party- “This year when planning my daughter’s 11th Birthday Party, she was very involved. Her two requisites, it had to be unique and it had to include her favorite color, PURPLE. I have been a scrapbooker since she was born, and one day rushing through a local craft store I spotted these lovely Smash Books. So I brought home one to show her, a pretty one with a purple spine and an embossed peace sign on the cover. She was sold! The idea of ‘Smashing’ was new to both of us, but it was basically like taking that shoebox full of memorabilia and ‘gluing it down, and smashing it into’ the pages of this pretty book.

I started working on the invitations with Amy from Sassaby. I gave her some ideas I had and some specific items and colors my daughter wanted and Amy did an amazing job creating the invites, cupcake toppers, door signs, and cards for the take home gifts.

We focused on the Smashing and the items the girls would be using. We put together a table for them to sit at and covered that with some Kraft paper. Each girl received a Smash book that had a little card with the definition of Smash that we had printed and tied with twine, as well as a paper bag that we ran through the printer, with their name printed on it. This bag held her “Smash items” and also served as a place marker. Each bag contained an array of little Smashing items like journaling cards, Smash band, paper clips, washi tape, colored cardstock, feathers, stickers, adhesive gems, etc. I set out colored markers and pencils. I also set up an additional table with scrapbooking tools. Since my daughter wanted this to be a surprise for her friends (they had no idea what a Smash Party was when they got here), I had contacted each mom and sworn them to secrecy. They each sent a sealed envelope with photos and memorabilia for each girl to work with on their Smash Books. They were so excited to open their envelopes and search through their ‘stuff’. I also printed a special ‘Conversation with’ sheet personalized for each girl with their name, month/year and their age (inspired by Ali Edwards) as a fun keepsake to look back on.

We took the girls outside for a fun photo shoot with some fun props from PhotoBoothgirls. My daughter thought it would be a fun idea to include some photos with the thank you cards so her friends can add them to their Smash Books.

As a take home gift we gave the girls these cute purple plastic totes to store their Smash items in. Lauri from Fresh Cuts by Lauri Beth created the vinyls we used on the front of the totes. She also made several die-cuts that we used in the décor and cupcake topper mustaches. Since the party took place after lunch time, we basically had cupcakes and snacks. My daughter requested Red Velvet Cupcakes, so that’s what I made for her, as well as Rice Krispie treats dipped in chocolate, fruit kabobs, popcorn, pretzels and cheese. We had a “purple” punch for the girls to drink out of their daisy lidded mason jars with pretty striped paper straws.

I have to admit, they all had a great time, some didn’t want to leave until they finished their books! I’ve had lovely messages from mom’s thanking me for introducing their daughter’s to Smashing.

As for the Birthday Girl, she couldn’t be happier…..she’s on her second Smash Book and still going strong. There’s already talk about “Smashing” play dates;).”

Neon Roller Skate Themed 11th Birthday Party

This NEON ROLLER SKATE ELEVENTH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Abigail Barnes of Paper and Cake. This party looks like it was so much fun!

Here are some of my favorite parts of this neon roller skate party:

The neon shoelace party favors
The brownie cake pops
and MORE!

This is what Abigail said about planning the party- “For my daughter’s 11th birthday we took the party to the local Roller Rink. My daughter wears these plastic neon green glasses just about everywhere we go, so clearly she’s got a thing for neon.

This is the first time I’ve had any of my kid’s birthdays at a venue, and even though it was just a touch tricky on the set up, it can be done, and it is SO worth it! We knew we would be working with picnic style tables, so we decided to style three, separate, fully functional tablescapes.

Food Table:
Since the party was at 10 am, we wanted to give these kids some fuel to skate the day away. We created neon popcorn boxes, filled them with cereal, and added a cute little sticker round to tie it all together. Fruit Skewers and mini muffins were the biggest hit of the day…until dessert. We also offered yogurt parfaits in cute little containers with a washi tape adornment. We went with mini birthday pennant banners for the tables to keep the decor centralized.

Dessert Table:
Of course this table is always the most popular at any party! We are particularly excited about our handmade Pushcake Stand… this was a huge hit and so easy to make! Homemade Brownie pops flew off the tray (we think its because of the super cute glitterstix). Roller skate shaped rice krispie treats with neon sprinkles was easily one of my favorite things. For party favors, we sent the kiddies home with neon shoelaces and boxes filled with neon sour gummy worms.. yummmm! Each table was sprinkled with handmade neon confetti and it really completed the entire look of the party.

Drink Table:
We offered orange juice, water, and starbucks bottled coffees for the parents to enjoy. Neon washi tape on the straws doubled as flags as well as a spot for everyone to write their name on.

Honestly, the best part of this party was seeing everyone having a blast on the rink. Something about slapping on a pair of roller skates brings out the kid in everyone, including myself. It was such a blast! I recommend taking your next party to the rink and giving it a splash of neon!”

Here’s what Erin said about planning this party- “Sometimes when I’m feeling run down…I just need a night with the girls. My husband was out of town for the weekend, so this was the perfect time to throw a Chick Flick Movie Night!  It was seriously so fun!!!

I designed a printable set based on some movie Starlets from the 50′s and 60′s.  I chose Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Doris Day and Audrey Hepburn. The set includes invitations, games, cupcake wrappers, tent cards, straw flags, pillow boxes, and much more! You’ll have everything you need to pull off the perfect movie night party.

I wanted to create a movie theater feel, without the stinky movie theater carpet (seriously, why is there carpet in movie theaters…so gross?!) We had movie candy (dots, red vines, junior mints, etc), buttered popcorn, sodas, and the added bonus of cupcakes!! Instead of using paper plates, which I think are annoying to eat off of because everything slides off, I made box trays…just like what you’d use in a theater. They were super handy and way cuter than paper plates. Everything fit perfectly in these little trays (which are included in my printable set).

Doris Day is my favorite actress…her movies are ADORABLE and hilarious, so we watched Pillow Talk. I was surprised that most people I invited hadn’t seen it, but everyone LOVED it…definitely a MUST SEE. During the movie, we played “Chick Flick Bingo.” It has things on it like first kiss, dancing, singing…you know…all the chick flick criteria.”
