Here’s what Louise said about planning the party- “We held Big Will’s 1st Birthday Party at my home in Durban, South Africa. It was a small gathering of close friends and family. I just love the Sock Monkey Theme!

Decor:
To make a party look great you need to focus on the details. We created this look by using our designs from our latest Sunshine Party printable set – Sock Monkey Inspired. All digital design elements can be printed on a home PC printer and handmade. This makes the party unique and still affordable! With a little thought and imagination this party can look great! For the table, we used a blue table cloth with hessian overlays. We made the bunting ourselves.

All the printed items can be found at SunshineParties on Etsy. This includes the Happy Birthday banner, Mini Cake Bunting, Food labels, Cupcake toppers all laid out to create this stunning look.

Food:
The birthday Cake was a yummy red velvet layered cake with precious mini bunting on top. We also had the cutest sock monkey cake pops. Liquorice hung from a container as Monkey vines. Lint Chocolate was personalised with labels to be monkey bars and there were some very yummy peanut butter cupcakes. Don’t forget the monkey nuts (we used chocolate balls for this)!”

Sock Monkey 1st Birthday Party

One look at this adorable SOCK MONKEY FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jennifer Laws of The Laws of my Life and you will know why I chose to feature it next. I just love what Jennifer did with this theme! Jennifer said– “Jameson was an unexpected blessing. After having twins we were not sure we could handle one more. (I mean, how could our home even be sanitary enough for a baby!) But, after he came in to this world, we knew GOD had better plans for our family! Jameson has brought so much HOPE, LOVE and JOY to our lives! We could not have made it through such a rough year without his unending smile! This celebration was the perfect way to honor him, celebrate his life and praise God for His wonderfully perfect blessing! When we brought him home he was dressed in his sock monkey embroidered onesie, brown pants, a hand knit hat and socks. He was a sweet baby and the youngest of 3…all under 3! Today, one year later, we are so excited to share with you his first birthday celebration! (And, yes, this crazy party planner mama had the “theme” planned from the beginning!) I decided to incorporate his sock monkey outfit with a “celebration” honoring him, along with a champagne toast and a musical guest! Without further ado, check out Jameson’s First Birthday Celebration!” Vendor Credits: Photography: Jennifer Klotz Photography Jameson’s coming home hat/socks & party shirt: Gray Stitch Studio Invitations: mygatsby.com Party Printables: chickabug Sock Monkey #1 Cake Topper: Waxela Sananda Jameson’s Polka Dot Custom Party Hat and Bib: Dainty Couture Jameson’s Brown/Red Party Hat: Gingham Bunny Cake and Cupcakes: Cakes by Tina Musical Guest: Jeff Wood Catering: Chick-fil-A Party Inspiration: Kara’s Party Ideas

Red & Aqua Sock Monkey Party

My next winning party feature goes to this fabulous RED & AQUA SOCK MONKEY 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Vanessa Coppola of The Crafty Nest! Oh how I love the classic Sock Monkey. The Sock Monkey party theme will always be a favorite of mine. Vanessa did such a great job {no wonder she’s the admin at The Crafty Nest}!
Vanessa said….”We celebrated Logan’s 1st birthday with a red and aqua sock monkey themed party. Guests were greeted at the door with a sock monkey wreath and hand painted ONE letters, finished off with mini bunting to match the decor inside. Instead of a traditional guestbook, guests signed The Happy Birthday Book by Dr.Seuss and wrote wishes for Logan’s time capsule that will be opened on his 18th birthday. I made most of the decorations, including a monthly photo banner and handmade party hats. Guests enjoyed decorating their own sock monkey and scooping up monkey treats at the candy buffet, that included handmade sock monkey cookies and cake pops. The sock monkey cake matched the graphics used throughout the party and I made the mini flag bunting that sat on top. The antique red highchair was a yard sale find and I added mini flag bunting to it that matched the bunting above the candy buffet table. The birthday boy wore an adorable sock monkey romper that matched the hand sewn table runners. Post-cake smash, Logan changed into a sock monkey shirt that I made him using felt and embroidery thread. Everyone had a blast and it was the perfect way to celebrate Logan’s 1st year of life!”
Thanks for your submission, Vanessa! Congratulations on being chosen as a winning party feature!

Vintage Sock Monkey Birthday Party!

Today’s winning party feature goes to this delightful VINTAGE SOCK MONKEY 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Life {Sweet} Life. Such a cute party. I mean, the invitation alone is to die for…and that’s what sets the mood for the whole party. Sarah definitely started it out right {and believe me, the rest of the party is just as darling}.The red and aqua party hats {SO cute by the way} and cupcake wrappers can be downloaded for FREE here. Thanks so much for your submission, Sarah. Congratulations on being chosen as today’s winning party feature!
I heart this idea. Take pictures of all the party guests holding a blank sheet of paper. Then, go in and digitally add names to the pages after the party {so for years to come the birthday child will know who was there, etc}.
