Mermaid Themed Birthday Party

This amazing MERMAID THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Gayle Williams of I Will Invitations. What a fantastic under the sea party that any girl would just adore! I love the sea shell desserts made with cookies & frosting! Everything is just too cute.

This is what Gayle had to say about planning the party- “My daughter Keely is absolutely besotted with anything to do with Mermaids. The Disney character Ariel has always held a special place in her heart too so it was easy to decide on a mermaid theme for her fifth birthday. The guests came in and participated in a jewellery making activity. Each child could choose their own beads to make a bracelet and the last piece threaded on was a beautiful little corked vial (reminiscent of cute messages in a bottle) from ‘These Tiny Treasures’ that was filled with mermaid dust. The children were told that when they next had a bath to try dropping a few pinches of the glitter into the water and they might just turn into mermaids! Lunch was a seaside favourite: fish and chips. Next each child was given a mermaid cardboard cutout with a glittery foam tail to decorate. Another activity held during this time was pass the parcel, with lots of bubble type prizes. Finally we had the unveiling of the dessert table. The centrepiece was a two-tiered chocolate mud cake decorated in light blue fondant with handmade white chocolate shells. I made the Tim-Tam fish cake pops and blue jelly jars (with small white lolly fish inside). The clam cookies were simply pink frosting and round mints inside 2 macadamia nut cookies. Sherbet bottles that looked like message in a bottles sat next to Guerlain chocolates and handmade pink glitter seahorses on sticks. I painted up craft boxes to look like sunken treasure and filled them with candy necklaces, chocolate coins and ring pops. I purchased Styrofoam balls and cut them in half, attaching on pink marshmallows with toothpicks to make sea anemones.

Rock candy stacked on top of each other created coral like formations and to further the coral theme, I purchased marshmallow twists and used bright pink coloured plastic flowers to drape down the backdrop. Lanterns hung down from the ceiling and lengths of crepe paper hung off them to look like jellyfish. We also used hula hoops to drape crepe paper off to make seaweed lengths. Finally we had a bubble machine to complete the look.”

Mermaids and Pirates 3rd Birthday Party

Take a look at this adorable MERMAIDS & PIRATES THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jen and Karis of The Sunshine Party Studio! Such a cute theme for a combined party for a boy and girl! All the ideas and decorations are wonderful, too!

Karis said- “This mermaid and pirate party, boasted burlap, wood crates, driftwood branches, “sand” (raw sugar!), shells, chains, coins & jewels amongst an aqua and pink color scheme. Pirate details were featured on the main food table, and a more feminine mermaid style took over the dessert table.” Recreate this party: Party Styling and Custom Printable Collection: The Sunshine Party Studio Cake: Johnson’s Custom Cakes & More Pearlized Gumballs:

Rainbow Fish 3rd Birthday Party

How adorable is this RAINBOW FISH 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Cris McGrath of Chrissy’s Crafts?! Oh how my little guy would love this party! I love the “bait” and “school of fish” treats!

Here is what Cris had to say about the party- “We had my son’s 3rd birthday party couple of days ago and I’d like to share with you some of the highlights of the party. My son loves water and the rainbow fish book so we decided to do a Little Fish Party! The party was a breeze to style using the printables from Amanda’s Party to Go. The colors were so bright and fun! For the dessert table, the children enjoyed fishy cupcakes, fish food (m&m’s), fish pops, cake pops, marshmallow pops, jelly fish (Jello), bait (gummy worms in a bucket), school of fish (gummy fish), and deep blue sea juice. Before they hit the sweet table, the little guests ate Whale crackers, fish sandwiches, fish skewers (fruits), fin-tastic veggies and submarines. The kids also enjoyed an afternoon full of games and crafts. The activities included Go Fish, Pin the Scale on the fish, Fish Hand Print Art, Face Painting, and Freeze little fish dance. At the end of the party, the guests  took home the ‘catch of the day’ (fish string bag on a fish pole) full of goodies!” Printables: Amanda’s Party to Go
