I love so many things about this party! The bookworm theme is perfect for a birthday party, baby shower, or play date! A few of my favorite elements in this party are:
  • The bookworm and apple shaped cookies given as party favors
  • The glasses and bow ties worn by the guests
  • The personalized canvas book bags
  • and MORE!

Here’s what Angela said about planning the party- “My son Isaiah recently turned 4 and is mid-way through his first year of Preschool. Seeing how much he enjoys going to school and learning new things, I decided to throw him a Bookworm themed birthday party. We invited a few of his little friends who are also in their first year of school, plus their moms – for a play date party!

I set up my dining room to look like a fun, kid friendly library – complete with plenty of balloons, colorful books, and a comfy reading nook. Each child was asked to bring their favorite book. When the guests arrived they were given a bow tie / hair bow clip and a pair of ‘reading glasses’ to wear.

The children’s activities included coloring bookmarks and ‘writing’ their very own story (with the help of a package of stickers and the writing skills of the moms!). We also had story time, when we read the books the children had brought and the stories they wrote! It was so cute to hear what those little minds thought up!

We shared a light meal of meat cheese & crackers, fruit and vegetables – which were served in brightly colored paper bowls. For desert, each guest was given an individual dirt cake (complete with gummy worms) in lieu of a cupcake or piece of cake. Other treats included cherry sour balls and adorably decorated sugar cookies.

At the end of the party each child gathered up their favors in a beautiful personalized book bag.

This was a small party which was quite simple to put together, and the children LOVED it! I would recommend this party theme to anyone with young children!”

Back To School Party!

With School starting just around the corner I thought I would feature this darling BACK TO SCHOOL PARTY submitted by Mariah Leeson of Giggles Galore. SUCH a cute party with SO many adorable ideas!
Mariah said- “The carefree days of summer are coming to an end, but for school-aged kids a new adventure is just around the corner. Back-to-school means new friends, new teachers and new memories! Get your little ones excited about the new school year and celebrate with a Back to School Bash.My daughter is going to kindergarten this year and I wanted to start the school year off right and document this exciting milestone. I decided to use my daughter’s love of books and reading as the focus of our party. Dimpleprints created the perfect invitation calling all bookworms to join us for an afternoon of fun.I set-up an old desk and bookshelf I borrowed from a friend to display the party treats and goodies. I served a traditional “school lunch” with items that were easy to make and budget friendly. We had PB&J sandwiches in decorated glassine bags, applesauce, fruit cups, milk, cookies, chocolate covered Oreos, and apple cake pops.During “recess” the kids got to burn off some energy with old school themed activities like “Teacher Says” (Simon Says), Red Rover, Freeze Tag and Kickball. I also created a little reading nook and filled it with books about starting kindergarten and going to school. My friend and photographer Elayne Dunn Photography was on hand to capture a “class photo” and take individual photos of each child. I used the First Day of Kindergarten sign from the party package and put it into a decorative frame for each kid to pose with and create a memorable keepsake for mom. I also made oversized flashcards with the numbers that represent their first day of school. Our guest went home with a brown paper sack full of goodies to start the school year off right. The bags were filled with an apple shaped notepad, crayons, and a sweet treat. They were also given a composition notebook and bookmark to use as a journal throughout the year. Whether your child is starting kindergarten or they are a seasoned school pro throwing a Back to School party is an A+ idea!”

ABC/123 Birthday Party + End of School Party

This super creative ABC + 123 6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Sandra El-Ayoubi and styled by 3’s A Party. Such a cute birthday party theme, right?! This party would be perfect for the end of school, too. So many fun elements…love all the chalk board tags!
Here is what Sandra had to say about the party– “My sister Lina came to me wanting to do a 6th birthday party for her son. His love for school and leadership qualities was exactly the reason to have this theme to encourage a more positive idea about schooling and healthy eating (minus all the treats) :). So the Theme of 123/ABC came about. Here is where the brilliant mind of Yassmine (3′s a Party’s stylist) came into action. The ideas went flying and the masterpiece came about. Being a High School Teacher I was able to work my magic and find my way into a history museum in the school I work at (one I had no idea exited) and found an array of props that would make the event even more special and close to the hearts of all the children that were present. Props such as an old vintage school bench, school bells, vintage Globe, old historical book dating back to the 1800′s, the Australian Map and Vintage looking flag had a priceless value adding element that completed the whole setting. It was a lot of hard work but the collaboration of Yassmine, Diana and myself, we were able to contsruct a Vintage School setting that would make any person want to have one more day spent at school.” Vendors: Props and Decorations: 3’s A Party Party Printables: Top That Paperie Cakes, cake pops, cookies, cupcakes: Ellhaam Serhan-Wise Photography: Photography by Sandra
