Western Themed 1st Communion Party

This fun WESTERN THEMED FIRST COMMUNION PARTY was submitted by Susana & Clara of DULCESOBREMESA! So cute! So many adorable ideas that would be perfect for a birthday party or baby shower, even!

Susana said this about planning the party- “We styled this party for a modern First Communion celebration. The Western theme was a surprise for Raul, a very sweet boy who loves horses, cowboys and Playmobil® toys.

We created a single backdrop that we used for three different Western scenes that took place during this day-long celebration at different spots of Raul’s home.

First, as guests arrived they had their pictures taken at the photocall. A few hours later, cake and favors were provided after lunch was served We designed this cake that features a real Playmobil® figurine on top and the First Communion boy modeled figure at the bottom, who just joined the party and is wearing a cowboy hat. The cake was served on wooden plates with decorated wooden spoons, napkins and a mini flag topper. The favors were drawing pads and small chocolate boxes, also designed by us.

At last, the sweets table was presented with many yummy treats! Gummy hamburgers & sodas, cupcakes, popcorn, ham and cheese brioches, mini waffles with Nutella, ice pops, candy stones and a bank of m&m’s filled gold ingots.

As everything was designed and handmade by us with lots and lots of love!”

Cowboy Themed 3rd Birthday Party

The details of this COWBOY WESTERN THEMED THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Alexis of Alexis Campbell Event Styling are just darling!

Here is what Alexis had to say about planning the party- ”When deciding on a theme for my son Zachary’s third birthday, a cowboy theme was the first thing that popped into my head.  As the plan began brewing I knew I wanted something simple and not overly “kiddy”.  First stop was the printables, which didn’t take long since The Tomkat Studio was reading my mind with the most adorable red and blue set.  As I continued to browse the sites I came across an adorable cowgirl party put together by Amber of Fashionably Baked for her daughter.  Amber’s invitation was the perfect fit for Zachary’s party, needing to only be tweaked from Cow Girl to Boy.  Amber had the proof in my hand only a few days later and the invitations were ready to go.”

Food
The adults were treated to homemade sausage and peppers, pasta salad, Greek salad, and sliced watermelon, all specially prepared by Zachary’s MIMI.  The kids enjoyed the ever famous Chick-Fil-A chicken tenders, homemade macaroni and cheese (by yours truly) and sliced watermelon. At the “watering hole” the adults enjoyed ice cold water with fresh lemon and lime slices and galvanized buckets full of bottles of beer. Drinks were served in mason jars tied with jute and topped off with a blue or red striped straw from The Tomkat Studio. Also, everyone was able to cool off at the refreshing, yet filling, rootbeer float station, what a hit! Vanilla ice cream was scooped into mason jars and topped off with ice cold rootbeer and enjoyed by all under the hot Florida sun.

Desserts
The goal of the dessert table was to keep it simple. In keeping with that, I went with vanilla cupcakes, caramel apples, s’more pops, potato chips and chocolate chip cookies.  Mandy at Sugar on Top provided the most delicious sugar cookie cowboy boots, hats and stars that matched the printables to perfection.  I also added a “make your own trail mix” station on the table for all to scoop a perfect combination of snacks for themselves to go in brown paper bags with a “thank you” tag on the front. Everyone went home with smiles on their faces as well as stuffed bags of yummy trail mix!

Each child was able to dress the part as each seat at the kids table included a bandana, cowboy hat and Sherriff’s badge. The cowboys and cowgirls kept busy as coloring pages from Anders Ruff were waiting for each to color on while their parents made their plates. Bales of hay were lined in the back yard for the kids to sit on while waiting for a pony ride. When Zachary saw the pony he was so excited he wanted to keep it, but not so happy when he found out that wasn’t an option! He never got off the pony and enjoyed every minute with “his” horses. All of the kids wore their hats and bandanas and it was simply adorable. I will never forget this birthday and the look on Zachary’s face.  He truly felt like a cowboy for the day. Now the tricky part, having to top it next year!”
