This modern CAR THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Melissa of The Cake Boutique.
Some of my favorite ideas in this car themed party are:
The popcorn served in cupcake liners since smaller portions were needed
The black favor bags made to resemble a road
The fruit kebabs threaded onto plastic straws- a safer option for little guests
and MORE!
This is what Melissa said about planning the party- “My son, Finley, turned two and we threw him a car themed party (his two favourite words are Cake and Car), styled around his birthday gift, a red ride-on retro tin car. We wanted it to be bright and clean, so stuck to a red colour palette with accents of blue. Grey chevrons provided a fun geometric backdrop which we repeated in the cake design. The gorgeous paperie was custom made to incorporate the theme. Guests enjoyed a variety of motor themed sweets and treats, including vanilla bean cupcakes, Mint Chocolate marshmallow tires, Jelly Fuel, Nuts and Bolts popcorn, Road sign chocolates and custom made Belgian chocolate cars.
The conservatory was converted into a mini race track with toy cars and ride-on vehicles for the kids to play with and the ceiling was strung with giant balloons in the main party colours.
The tiny guests were given a custom made Road party bag filled with toy cars, car shaped chocolates and a car bath squirter.”

This adorable VINTAGE RACE CAR PARTY was submitted by Sarah Epstein of Crackers Art. I love that this party has a rustic feel yet it’s still colorful and bold!
So many cute party ideas here! Some of my favorite elements of this race car party include:
This is what Sarah said about this party- “In August last year, I had the pleasure of creating some custom printables for a client to suit a vintage car racing theme. While my customer only needed a few items, I knew the theme would look fabulous across a complete printables range, so I set about creating one.
I created this party table to show the printables in action. I came across the awesome black gasoline pump at a local discount store, and built up the table idea from there. I wanted it to be a bit vintage and rustic, but with all the fun and energy of bright colours and checkered flags. My client had me design her some oil can labels, and I loved the idea of those as props as well for this table. I used regular 400g tins of tomatoes and wrapped the labels around those – so simple, anyone can do it!”

This fabulous VINTAGE RACE CAR 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Keren Precel of Keren Precel Events! I love the muted colors and the large party table backdrop! Keren has so many cute ideas for us here!
Keren said this about planning the party- “We were in charge of planning, catering and designing this one of a kind vintage race car party for a cute little 3 year old boy: from designing the invitations right down to creating the giveaway favors for the guests. We only used eco friendly materials in the design.
The party venue was divided into 4 sections:
1. “The pit stop” – was the area where the kids got to decorate their own “Melissa and Doug” race cars.
2. “The race track” – we created a “wishing race track” for the little guests to write happy birthday wishes to the birthday boy. We laid down a wooden track, along with custom designed wish notes attached to small metal cars.
3. “The gas station” was the main table where the food was laid out. decor items on the table included a vintage like gas station, vintage plates and cars.
4. “The trophy section” – the favors. The adults got to take home a custom wrapped mason jar with home made delicious strawberry jam, and the kids got a 100% cotton bag, stamped with the party logo.
Custom design items included: invitations (shown in the vintage mailbox!), backdrop, vintage style signs and posters across the room.”

How adorable is this RETRO 50′S RACE CAR THEMED FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Nikka Morell of Triple M Good Parties! I just love the cookies, cake, framed toy race cars…and more! There are so many darling ideas here!
Here’s what Nikka said about planning the party- “I created this race car/diner party for little 1 year old Zane. Zane is an only child and his parents are above the moon with this little man. Every milestone is celebrated with nothing held back.
This is a total DIY party. I jazzed up some boring trays with a can of spray paint and glued some wooden knobs on the bottom to give them some height. I then lined them with the black and white check paper to compliment the party. The bigger pedestals are wood candle sticks and the smaller ones are old glass candle sticks from The Goodwill, with a small piece of wood on top. The candy jars are my favorite so far! I used some modge podge to glue the fabric on terra cotta pots and then topped them off with a muscle car. I also glued some muscle cars to some card stock paper and placed them in black frames. The flower vases are old Starbucks bottles wrapped in color coordinated yarn. I wanted Zane’s party to shout that he was in fact turning 1. I wrapped a bunch canvas frames with fabric then glued some tissue paper on to make a 1 and give it some texture. I also wrapped some canvas frames in paper and then glued painted wood 1′s on. To bring the diner feel into the party, I used a vintage straw dispenser, a short napkin holder, some tall acrylic ice cream dishes and real black french fry holders. My old school looking popcorn machine fit perfect with the party. Zane turned 1….we all knew it…Zane had the best day!”
This fabulous VINTAGE RACE CAR BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Maureen Anders of Anders Ruff Custom Designs! I just love all the amazing ideas found throughout this darling themed celebration!
Here is what Maureen had to say about planning the party- “I tend to design more for boys (probably because I am surrounded by 3 (well, 4 if you count our dog) at home). When Yolanda and Kate of Kiss Me Kate presented their story board and inspiration for their latest theme, it was game on. Presenting the Vintage Race Car theme…..
The invitation needs to set the tone, of course! This vintage style invitation represents an old style ticket that is the perfect way to send an invitation.
The dessert table is stunning and wait until you see the details! I love the centerpieces being the trophy shaped apothecary jars. We designed printable “1st, 2nd, 3rd place” logos that they used as prize ribbon decor on the jars. SO CUTE! I also love the vintage gas pump prop and the vintage racing oil cans as part of the decor – brilliant! Yolanda is an ace at sourcing the most amazing props for their events. Can you even believe the helmet cake pops!? What about the road speedsters? SO creative. Another creative touch is the “Gravel Pit”. Rock shaped chocolates PERFECT for this race car party theme. Kate’s desserts are perfect…. check out the finish flag cookie pops! I LOVE how they added the printable party flag to the back of the roadsters. Oh, and the CAKE…. Could you die!? The arrows going around the cake are COOKIE pops… the simplicity but CREATIVE detail that went into this cake shows the true talent of these ladies from Kiss Me Kate!
You can see our new Vintage Race Car printables throughout the party table. The party sign displayed as well as the party logos used as cupcake toppers. The printable banner strung on a white backdrop adds a striking focal point to the table. A printable drink wrap also adds interest to a party staple – water! The Vintage Race Car Printable invitation and coordinating collection is now available in the Anders Ruff shop!”
