This is what Brittany had to say about planning the party- “When Emma Kate’s mommy contacted me a few months back about planning her 2nd birthday, she told me that EK loved Daisy Duck and she was hoping she still would by the time her birthday came around. Well, the answer to that question is a resounding YES! Miss EK was thrilled with her Daisy Duck party and kept saying “Day-dy duck!” So precious! And purple? Hello? My favorite color! And since there are hardly any Daisy Duck themed party supplies out there, I had to stretch myself, which I love!

My first step was finding the Daisy Duck wall decal on Amazon. I simply applied it directly to a large piece of foam core and then cut it out with an xacto knife. It is a super affordable way to have a big impact on your backdrop. I decided to really focus on Daisy herself, but also purple daisy flowers to bring in a really girly touch.

Piggy Bank Parties was kind enough to modify their polka dot printable collection for me by adding super cute little pink bows to it!

I wanted to make a stand that looked like a birthday cake and then use it to display cake pops. So, I crafted a large tiered stand out of styrofoam disks and hat boxes. I added embellishments with tulle trim, feather trim, and different colored ribbon. For the topper, I simply painted a chipboard #2 and then added adhesive rhinestones from the scrapbook department. For the cake pops, what else but little Daisy Ducks? The fabulously talented Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins did the adorable pops for me! The beautiful chocolate covered Oreos with fondant toppers were done by Maria at Love and Sugar Kisses. I mean, could you die? They were little works of art! Suckers by Steph, as always, made me some beautiful chocolate suckers. She is one of my favorite edible vendors to work with and these were just beautiful!

I decided to have “duck” themed food on the menu, so we had “Duckbills and Dip,” “Cheese and Quackers” cut with a high heeled cookie cutter, Goodie Goodie Bites (Daisy’s Catch Phrase) which were chicken minis from Chic Fil A, and then Purple Bow Pasta Salad. Did you know you could dye pasta? It’s really easy! All you do is cook the pasta until it’s al dente, then add gel color to it. You can get gel color at any craft store in the cake section and there are tons of colors!

For the favors, I wanted a super cute and very “Daisy” favor box, so I emailed Do at Piggy Bank Parties to see if she could do a high heel shaped favor box with a rounded toe. After some very hard work on her part, she delivered these COMPLETELY adorable high heels! They were the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life! And the awesome news is that she can do them in any color! These would be the perfect favor box for SO many girly party themes! To display them, I glued some scrapbook paper to a small shoe box that I had lying around my house from Christmas. Then I used the tulle trim for a little extra cutenesss.

The daisy chains are from Hobby Lobby and I found them in the wedding section. They were the perfect garland for the table!”

Pretty in Purple Baby Shower

My next feature, a PRETTY IN PURPLE BABY SHOWER, was submitted by Kim White of Two’s a Party. What a beautiful celebration! Everything is so elegant and pretty! I hope you gain a lot of inspiration and ideas from this darling event.

Kim said this about planning the party- “One of our new friends, Lauren Avila of Lauren Avila Photography mentioned she was throwing a baby shower for her best friend, who is having a girl. We jumped at the chance to offer to help! She had picked the purple colors, made candy bar wrappers, a pennant, some pom pom’s and the shower was to be held at the beautiful home of her in-laws. We took our direction from the pieces she had and styled the dessert and candy tables, brought in Deborah Fay from Romance Etc to work her magic on the centerpieces and had a blast working with Lauren, her friends and family. We brought in grape gummy bears, blueberry jelly beans and huckleberry taffy. Simply Layered created the blueberry parfaits and champagne panna cotta. German chocolate cake, carrot cake cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes and lemon pie from Bake and Broil. We loved making the small cake pennant for the cake and had fun with the different patterns and rustic elegant theme!”

Butterfly Christening Celebration, Baby Blessing Party

This beautiful BUTTERFLY CHRISTENING CELEBRATION was submitted by Michelle Alejandro. This would be such a pretty spring themed birthday party as well. I love all the gorgeous fresh flowers! Michelle did an amazing job. Here is what Michelle had to say about the celebration– “I had been planning Isabella’s christening party almost from the moment I got pregnant. I was so excited to throw this very first party we would have for our little girl so I wanted something really memorable and pretty. I always think of little Isabella as my miracle. I called her a little butterfly so I knew I wanted to incorporate butterflies into the theme. Since I decorated her nursery in a palette of pink and purple I opted for a classic color scheme of blush pink, purple, and pewter. I thought the colors looked great together and were both feminine and classic at the same time. THEME: I opted for a nice floral butterfly garden theme since the event would be in the afternoon. I thought this brought together all the elements I loved perfectly. INVITES: Since invitations truly set the mood for events, I wanted our invitation to say something about what we wanted the entire party to feel like. We opted for beautiful Butterfly Christening Celebration I opted for a beautiful gray, pewter invitation with Isabella’s photograph on it. I really wanted everything to be special so we even had each envelope done in handwritten calligraphy. THE STYLING: There was truly a certain look I was going for and to achieve it I worked with Bambi Hernandez of Alice’s Wonderland. She is an amazing event and production stylist and I knew she could put together Isabella’s perfect butterfly garden. I had bought these beautiful handmade purple, pink, and white butterflies I gave her to use throughout the styling to tie everything together. She was amazingly meticulous with the details. She took my mood board and brought it life, putting everything together so beautifully. Our event was at the Continental Restaurant which had large windows allowing the sunlight to stream in. We used purple and pink tablecloths on the smaller square tables. Each table had a low flat arrangement of fresh flowers with a mason jar at the center containing sand and a butterfly. Additional butterflies also accented the centerpieces which Bambi and her team handmade on the day of the event. The dessert table had a tabletop mini trellis with suspended butterflies and flowers in floating glass balls. This was further accented with ISABELLA’s name above the sweets and photos of her accenting the whole table. The main decorating element though was a handcrafted letter “I” installation that greeted guests as the entered the venue on a large round marble table. It was made with silk flowers and was accented by floral arrangements and candles. On this same table were “Wish Cards” for Isabella that guests filled up and hung on her tree. SWEETS: The desserts were a large part of the event. Not only were there delicious but they made the dessert buffet look stunning. The sweets table were filled with floral cupcakes by Swell Sweets, personalized cookie pops, and cake pops from Cuppy Puppy Bakehouse, and a beautiful ruffle cake by Swell Sweets. It also had personalized purple M&M’s my mom had hand-carried from Las Vegas home to the Philippines with Isabella’s name on them. GIVEAWAYS: We wanted to give everyone something special to remember the day so we had handmade crocheted baby booties made in white and pink and I personally filled them with Isabella’s personalized M&M’s for the guests. For her godparents we prepared special gifts – purple Pashmina scarfs for the ladies and homemade chocolate chip cookies for the gentlemen.” VENDORS: Styling: Bambi Hernandez of Alice’s Wonderland Photography: Karen Ilagan Cake pops and cookie pops: Joanna Romero of Cuppy Puppy Bakehouse Cake and cupcakes: Gel Colet of Swell Sweets
