This is what Melissa said about planning the party- “My daughter Kate recently turned two and I took two of her favorite things as inspiration for the party: The book “Pinkalicious” and anything with Gold Glitter. She has favored the “Pinkalicious” book since she’s been tiny. Our copy of the book is torn to shreds! I didn’t want to use the character in the book for the main design but instead used my sweet Kate. I photographed her in a gold princess crown and and dressed her in a shade of pink. Then I worked with the color in designing the invite.
At the party, guests got to enjoy a variety of Pinkalicious treats that you’d see in the story. Two of my favorites were the pink cupcakes complete with gold dust and the Pinkalicious strawberry cake. For the party favors, the girls received gold or glitter star wands just like Pinkalicious in the story. For the extra pink/glitter touches throughout the table, I incorporated pink/glitter ribbon on the mason jars and designed pink and glitter water bottle labels. I love the chevron design of the backdrop and was so excited to stumble across that paper. It added the touch of modern I was looking for. The paper tassels at the top were so easy to make and polished off the background. Pinkalicious Kate and her friends had a sparkly fun 2nd birthday party!” Items used in this party available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop:Balloons

This is what Tami said about planning the party- “My 5 year old is a obsessed with ballet! She was so excited to have her very own ballet class at her house with a little ballet recital for all her friends and their parents. The invitation told the parents to come near the end of the party to attend a ballet recital and to enjoy cake and treats with us. My daughter’s ballet teacher came dressed up in her pointe shoes and tutu just like a real ballerina:). She led the girls in ballet basics, games and in a darling little ballet dance that they performed for their parents.
This party was all about the little details. I tried to add touches of those details everywhere making the party full of magic and elegance. One of my favorite things was the touches of ribbon and tulle that we added everywhere from the pool gate down to the napkins. I loved the glittery tulle that we added to the napkins that gave it the perfect little touch. As the ballerinas arrived, they were led to our backyard by a sign that was made by Michelle Tucker from Little Design Company that read “Dance recital this way”. They were then led through the back yard on a path created with ribbons and lanterns. Once they arrived in the backyard, the focal point was the dance stage. I didn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on renting a stage, so I came up with the idea to turn our trampoline upside down and turn it into the stage. It worked perfectly and it was just the right size for all the little dancers. After all the dancers had arrived we walked to the ballet bar where each little ballerina got their own tutu. I borrowed the ballet bar from 5678 dance studio in Modesto CA. The ballerinas had fun dancing for a while and took a break over at “The Ballet Bar” (the dessert table) They also found their darling little wands on their plates and enjoyed having their yummy little treats and taking a small break. After all of the parents arrived, the girls put on their ballet recital and then onto gifts and cupcakes. It was so cute and the girls had such a great time!” Items used in this party available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop:Striped Paper Straws

This is what Kerri said about the party- “I have been doing yoga for about 6 months now and LOVE it. The instructor at the Yoga studio just started offering yoga parties so I, of course hadto host one! My daughter, Karlie loves doing the poses with me so I thought it would be fun to do a mother/daughter party with a small group of friends.
I am a freelance graphic designer (also design for an AWESOME frame company, Wild Sorbet Frame Company) so I designed all the party printables (available in my etsy shop, Big K, little k designs). I wanted to keep the food mostly healthy so I chose to do hummus cupcakes, trail mix, fruit, spinach dip, fruit water, and peach tea.
We started off by choosing toe rings (it’s a yoga thing-hehe) and then getting on our yoga mats. The instructor guided us through lots of poses that were kid friendly. Our daughters had so much fun getting to jump around and be silly. We then gave the daughters a foot massage and then they went to play while the mommie’s enjoyed a few minutes of quiet time and a foot massage from the instructor.
We then enjoyed our snacks and let the kids play while the mommies got in some gab time. Our instructor made the cutest treat bags where she shaped pipe cleaners into yoga poses.
It was such a fun party and it was great to have some mother, daughter time. Everyone had a blast!”
