Modern Chevron Print Baby Shower

This MODERN CHEVRON PRINT BABY SHOWER submitted by Renee Zempel of Sweet Art Food Design is just too cute. I love the miniature clothesline cake topper! The modern prints used throughout the shower made everything just pop.

Here is what Renee had to say about the event– “Sweet Art had the opportunity to style and photograph a fabulous baby shower for the most delightful of clients!  What a privilege and joy it was to set the stage for the celebration of an up-and-coming little boy. It was a very special day, indeed. The color palette and overall vibe for the baby shower was clean, modern, and fresh. Vivid teal blues and bright oranges were set against a canvas of crisp white.  The bold chevron pattern used on the table runners kept the eye moving around the room, and the miniature baby clotheslines softened the edges of this rather modern look. The result was stunning! For the styling of this table, we created a backdrop covered in the same vivid blue as the chevron-patterned table runners. Draped across the backdrop was a miniature baby clothesline, which helped to carry out the shower’s “baby clothing” theme perfectly!  I loved the tall topiaries that flanked the table… they hinted at the idea of baby laundry hanging on a clothesline in a backyard. Another fabulous detail, for which Sweet Art can hardly take any credit, was the lovely flower arrangements! One of the hostesses volunteered her own amazing talent for the creation of these beauties. We simply collaborated together on the design, and then she put together something that was above and beyond all expectations. I know that they look pretty in these photos, but believe me they were even more stunning in person!! Also, I am especially fond of these little orange ribbon flags because my 12-year-old son made them!  Have to tell you the story… One evening, he and I sat down to watch a movie and also try our hand at tying these things. Though crafts are not his usual activity of choice (um… almost never!), we discovered that he was way better at creating these than I was. He ended up re-doing all of mine. : ) Guess all of those knot-tying lessons at boy scouts paid off! It made me smile to use them at the party. There just aren’t enough words to express to how grateful we are to have been entrusted to style and photograph this very special occasion!!  Our sincerest thanks to the hostesses and warmest congratulations to the beautiful mother-to-be!” Vendor Credits: Photography: Elizabeth Barna of Sweet Art Miniature Baby Clothesline: That’s Adorable Table runners: Ultrapom Floral Arrangements: Karen Yee Event Styling: Renee Zempel of Sweet Art Cake bunting & Hanging banner:  The Art of Handmades

Goldfish 1st Birthday Party!

A little fishy is turning ONE, check out this party for some birthday party idea fun. This GOLDFISH 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY was styled by On To Baby & was submitted by Heather Dalton of Chickabug. Here is what ‘On To Baby’ said about the party- “Alek’s love of swimming and being in the water inspired the theme for this adorable blue and orange goldfish themed party. Organizing and preparing the party was a labor of love for his mom Melita, who spent many late nights putting together the favor tags, labeling bottles, glueing napkin holders together, creating the straw flags, and so forth. She painted the letters for the O-N-E letters several times, just to get the color just right! So sweet! Melita used Etsy as a great resource to complete the whole picture (be sure to check out the full list of Etsy shops at the bottom of this post!). Mimi Nguyen captured all of the lovely photos of the event.” Vendors: Photography: Mimi Nguyen Caricaturist: Deborah Skaron Cake: Beverly’s Best Bakery Paper Goods: Chickabug Party Banner: A to Zebra Celebrations Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies: Sweeties by Kim Sugar Cookies: Beesknees Creative and Rollin In Dough Macarons: Sparkles Macaron Lollipops: Vintage Confections Paper Straws: IsAKay Boutique

Boy Themed Ice Cream Party!

My next winning party feature goes to this original BOY THEMED ICE CREAM PARTY submitted & styled by Alexis Campbell. I love this! There are so many options for girly ice cream parties…but a boy one?! So cute! I love the orange, blue & green. The little birthday boy couldn’t be cuter, too.
Alexis said- “After following your blog for sometime now, I decided to try and do the best I could at throwing my son a fabulous second birthday, We decided to have an ice cream/sweets party for my son Zachary’s second birthday. He loves ice cream and loves to put all of the topping on especially sprinkles. We set up an ice cream table and a full sweets table. I made EVERYTHING myself. All of the food was made in my kitchen a few days before the party. I saw the paper art on one of your featured parties and I tried my best to duplicate it for the wall behind the ice cream table. Since my son is in LOVE with fire trucks, we had s fire truck and ambulance come to his party just for him. He was in awe! The party turned out great. The sweet were fantastic and he had a wonderful time. It couldn’t have been any better.” Great job, Alexis! Thanks for your submission!

‘BED’ table!…
In Paula’s words…The bed wasn’t as complicated (or expensive) as you might think~even I have a party budget. I trolled Craigs List for a few weeks until I found a bed with a perfect shape. I fixed the color with a couple cans of spray paint, and my husband put a piece of plywood (cut to size) across the steel runners to create the eating surface. A few steps to fabulous, but really easy to do!”
