Om Nom Monster 1st Birthday Party

This clever OM NOM MONSTER 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Laura Harper of My Pookie Designs. Any child who loves the game, ‘Cut the Rope’ would adore this party! So cute!

Laura said this about planning the party- “As I was thinking about what theme to do for my son’s 1st birthday party, I had already been thinking a monster theme. Then I thought of things about my little guy and the fact that he eats a lot came to mind, we call him our little om nom. Instantly I thought of the cute little green monster named Om Nom from the App game “Cut the Rope” and fell in love with the idea!

The color scheme went right along with the game- green, blue, cardboard and peppermint :) Peppermint candies were easy to do around Christmastime! Besides peppermints, the decor consisted of green polkadot background, cardboard boxes as stands, black yarn pompom Spider garland, and of course a cute plush Om Nom monster.

Since om nom refers to eating, we did a dinner and had a Pizza Bar. Simple, quick and delicious! The treats were few including: Om Nom cake, peppermint sugar cookies, peppermint swirl cookies (which were used for one of the games), Peppermint whipped dip with ginger thins, red Squeeze-it drinks and peppermint candies.

For the favors, everyone got a small box with a peppermint sugar cookie with a tag saying, “Thanks for cOMNOMing over!”

For the games we played: Cookie hang (like the donut hang), balloon bottom pop (with a twist-teams had to pop balloons and get 3 stars inside to win), Matching game with my lil guy’s pictures (another twist with a few cards with picture of the Spidey in game- if they turned it over they lost a turn) and a peppermint spin contest.

It’s amazing how much you can do with just a simple idea from a game like Cut the Rope. Very few details, so many possibilities.”

Monster Themed Baby Shower

This adorable MONSTER THEMED BABY SHOWER was submitted by Christina Christian of Something Chic Party and Event!

Christina said this about planning the party- “This Little Monsters themed baby shower was inspired by the Ikea Little Monsters collection. We styled our focal point on monstrous decor items, which the mother-to-be raved about. The shower was held on a beautiful winter afternoon. Although it’s winter, she requested that we stick with the primary colors while allowing the beauty of nature take center stage. The sweet treats we package were cupcakes, Mike and Ikes, rock candy, and cookies n’ creme chocolate bars.”

Friendly Monster 3rd Birthday Party

This incredibly cute FRIENDLY MONSTER BASH THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Rachel Scott of RV Parties! I’m dying at all the adorable details! Everything just screams perfection! WHAT a darling party with so many fabulous ideas!

Rachel said this about planning the party- “This 3rd birthday party was monstrously-fun to style! Our “little monster” birthday boy is energetic and happy so our monsters had to be too! From the bright and happy monster decorations to the coloring wall–it certainly was a party tailored for toddlers that was cheerful and fun!

Kiddos snacked on one-eyed monster cruffle pops, bright sprinkled chocolate covered pretzels, cupcakes and a three-tiered cake by Got What It Cakes–specially customized in the party’s theme and adorned with fondant monsters. The birthday boy ate his confections on a custom printed plate by RV Parties in the monster party pattern.

Coordinating fabric was printed in the party design and used to make a number “3″ birthday shirt and runners for the tables. Monster silhouettes popped up throughout the party–as confetti on the table, framed pictures on the wall and garland in the doorways. Googly eyes were a quick and easy way to bring additional elements into the party theme — and they’re so fun, who could resist putting them on everything!?

Our favorite part was the large-scale wall decor. The backdrop for the dessert table was a 3′x4′ vinyl banner which now decorates the birthday boy’s room! All the little monsters loved grabbing washable crayons from the coloring table to doodle on the coloring walls.

Favors included monsters knitted with hand dyed yarn, gumballs and a jar of coordinating jelly beans–as well as a family picture in the monster photo booth. And we loved the other elements brightening the favor table–a yarn wrapped H and a cute monster gumball machine!”
