Modern Valentine’s Day Party

This MODERN VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY was submitted by Bird of Bird’s Party. I love how bright and cheerful this party is! It’s also fun to see a Valentine party that strays from the traditional red and pink (even though I can’t get enough of that either!).

Some of my favorite elements of this unique, modern Valentine’s Day party are:
The wooden peg dolls painted to match the party colors
The milk bottle printable wraps
The cake pops adorned with fondant hearts
The colorful ribbon garland hanging on the front of the dessert table
and MORE!

Here’s what Bird had to say about planning the party- “I was feeling a little tired of the overly pink and red Valentine’s Day designs. So using my new Modern Valentine’s Day collection, I created a unique Valentine’s party. I utilized the small surface and multiple levels of an old dresser for my dessert table. The stunning ribbon garland from A to Zebra Celebrations really helped to ad color and texture to the ensemble.

Sweet treats on the dessert table included homemade cream cheese cake pops, fuchsia, yellow and blue French macarons, vanilla cupcakes adorned with wrappers and cupcake toppers and a homemade passion fruit cake topped with the most adorable peg dolls from Craft That Party, as well as assorted candy in the colors of the party.

Favors included a little Valentine’s Favor Box from Bird’s Party printable Collection, filled with Hershey’s Kisses.”

Eskimo Kisses and Valentine Wishes Playdate Party

How unique and adorable is this ESKIMO KISSES & VALENTINE WISHES VALENTINE’S PARTY submitted by Christy Bergerson of Itsy Belle! All the little details are just darling! So many cute valentine’s party ideas!

Christy said this about planning the party- “To me there is nothing sweeter than an Eskimo kiss shared with my little girl. Her little nose just begs for them. It is this simple gesture of love that has inspired our Valentine’s Day playdate this year. We invited a few of her little friends and their moms to celebrate the sweetness with us.

A canvas I painted in a soft ombre blush was the backdrop to our dessert table. “Eskimo kisses” (Hershey Kisses), “Eskimo Pies” (Ice cream sandwiches) and “snowballs” (coconut covered marshmallows), Eskimo cookies and igloo cake pops were set out for the little invitees to enjoy. The centerpiece, an igloo cake set on a hand-made cake stand spray-painted metallic gold made our party theme come alive.

I modeled the little Eskimo Illustration for our printables after one of my favorite winter photos of my daughter all bundled up in her winter coat with just her sweet face peaking out. So cozy and cute! With hues of blush, gold and aqua it all came together to create a soft, girly party setting.

Like soft fluffy snowballs, tulle Pom toppers adorn some of our guest treats, and pom wands doubled as centerpieces for the dining table. The girls loved playing with their “snowball wands”.

Our little Valentine’s were each sent home with Valentine bags full of chocolate “Eskimo Kisses” and big smiles.”

Mustache Boy & Girl Valentine’s Day Party

This adorable MUSTACHE THEMED BOY & GIRL VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY was submitted by Maureen Anders of Anders Ruff.

Could a Valentine’s party get any cuter than this? I mean, come on, mustaches?! LOVE.

Clear Cellophane Bags

Here’s what Maureen had to say about the party- “We are excited to introduce our Mr & Miss Mustache Valentine’s Day Party Printables Collection!

We took some feedback from our facebook poll and decided to create a collection that was perfect for both boys and girls. We all know the “mustache” trend is in full force right now – for both boys and girls!  Go into any toddler, tween or teeny bopper store and you’ll find a mustache or two on the clothes and decor.

Our new Printable Mustache Valentine’s Day Collection includes both the boy and girl colorways of the designs!  That means 2 of each design – one in a boy colorway (red/blue/white/black) and one in a girl colorway (red/pink/white/black).

Yesterday Adria and I put together a quick display of all of the fun designs in our Mustache Valentine’s Day party and card designs.  We had one night to prep the little set, but it was totally “doable” and inexpensive by pulling cake stands and props from lots of past shoots.  It was fun to use our props from past shoots to put together a little setup that anyone could do!  Read on for the details…. and more photos!

A few favorite details were:
- Printable “Mystery Valentine Message” Decoder and Envelope Pocket.  (The kids can decode the secret message by matching up the mustache style with the letters!)  Fold and insert into the printable mystery message envelope.  Include a pencil with a printable flag for an extra bonus!
- Chocolate bar wrappers that say “sweets for your candy “stache””
- “Do you fancy my moo-stache?” valentines cards (Funny!)
- “Keep the gum out of your mustache” Card with a space to include a pack of gum
- Bag toppers that say “You “must” enjoy some now, and “stache” some for later”…. fill with any yummy treat!

One of my favorite printable from the printable collection is the Mystery Valentine’s Day Message and Decoder.  We include a little cute printable envelope template (shown above) that you can print and use to carry the fun mystery message.  The kids can decode the message with their printable flag embellished pencil (pencils found at Target for $1!).  They can match up the mustache style with the letter to decode the message.  I have a feeling my boys’ friends will love this! (Also comes in the pink color way!)

How fun are these ring pops that we encased in the little clear container from Nashville Wraps?  We added a little 3/4″ party logo from the printable collection and some twine (from The Twinery) to make it all cute.  “You are one of a kind”… anyone would love to receive that valentine!

Above, we displayed some dressed up Sweethearts boxes with printed chevron red/white paper and added a printable 2″ party logo from the collection.  I love dressing up the most simple treats like this!  We also showed our printable bag toppers and our kisses labels (3/4″ party logos).

Our cupcakes were placed in cupcake wrappers from Bella Cupcake Couture and we added a chocolate heart lollipop into the center of the cupcake with a printable party flag. (Cupcake + Chocolate lollipop = Super sweet treat!)  We also displayed red and white macarons on the top tier and added a little mustache printable silhouette on top to tie it all together.

Black gable boxes from Nashville Wraps were embellished with Red/white chevron printed paper and we added the “Thanks for being sweet” favor hangtag.  This would be perfect for classroom parties, Valentine’s day parties at home or just a treat for a friend or neighbor.

I love the chocolate bar wrappers – They say “Sweets for your candy “stache”.  We tried to incorporate fun sayings using parts or the whole word “mustache”…. It was quite the challenge!  We also include the mini chocolate bar wrappers in the pink and blue colorways, as shown.

A fun Valentine idea is the “Do you fancy my “moo” stache” printable card with the little mustache silhouette on a stick.  The kids would probably have a ball playing with their mustaches! (and get a kick out of the card, too!)

These “Wet your Whiskers” printable drink wraps are so cute on the glass bottles.  We also added little mustache silhouettes on the straws for an added detail to tie the party together.

Another one of my favorites – “Keep the gum out of your mustache” cards with a place for a stick of gum or pack of gum.  Don’t you love the gum wraps?

Adria put this pillow together for her girls for Valentine’s Day (and she is going to share the DIY on the Ruff draft tomorrow!)

We saw the same mustache phrase all over Pinterest, and had some requests for it, so we included it… but we typically like to use our own cute phrases…. This one was just too cute to not try and do our own version, though!  “I really mustache you a question – will you be my valentine?”  Also, you could add the little clear container with some kisses that rock the 3/4″ party logo printable.

How fun is the little mustache bunting banner?

Also available – a “You melt my heart” folding printable bag topper! (Perfect to include S’mores ingredients) (Thanks to Vivian Kerr for the fabulous wording idea!)

Hopefully this year your kiddos will be excited about sending some fun and colorful Mustache Valentines!
We hope you enjoy!  Who knew mustaches could be so cute?!

Jen said this about planning the party- “A SWEET Valentine’s Day printable package + SWEET treats + the SWEETEST kids around (well, most of the time) = one pretty SWEET {LOVE} Day celebration.

I’m not gonna lie. Some parties are for the kids. And some parties are for me. I pretended this party was for the kids, and spent a few hours trying to convince myself it was for the kids, but in actuality I think it might have really been for me. (GASP! I know, how selfish!) There’s just something about pink + red + hearts + sparkles that speaks to me, not to mention all of the adorable sweet{LOVE} Day treats. (I’m pretty sure those sweet treats really were speaking to me too–as in calling my name and saying, ‘eat me’. Before. After. And during the party.)

Truth be told, the kids probably would have been fine if I had just dumped a bunch of candy & treats in the middle of the table and let them go at it! But, they are quickly learning that EVERYTHING tastes better when it’s cutened up with Anders Ruff printables and decor!

I’m pretty good at fooling my kids (I’m admittedly not as good at fooling my husband), so fortunately, they still thought the party was for them. After all, the little details were planned with them in mind (kind of, ha!).

Take the cute customized shirts, for instance–first name initials on hearts for the little girls and red/white polka dotted tie t-shirts for the boys. The darling shirts were custom made by my talented friend, Vivian, of Kerr Kreations. We knew the girls would love the oversized coordinating hair accessories, and we were right! A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!

Every great party starts with an amazing graphic printable package (or should, in my opinion!). I fell in love with Anders Ruff’s Sweet Valentine’s Day collection the moment I saw it. I love the ‘sweet shoppe’ feel with the pink and white stripes and the darling dessert graphics. From the sweet invitation, to the pages and pages of printable party accessories (cupcake toppers, drink flags, banner, placemats, party favors & more, Anders Ruff knows how to do Valentine’s Day right!

Immediately after seeing AR’s Valentine’s graphic package, I began pinning ideas for an awning on Pinterest . Again, my amazing friend Viv and her husband set to work making my dreams of a sweet shoppe awning a reality. (Maybe I can convince them to share a tutorial on building it?) They were so sweet to let me borrow it for the party! We picked out coordinating pink & white striped fabric to tie into the printables. Vivian also sewed a coordinating runner to tie the kid’s table to the dessert table.

Filling the dessert table with yummy treats was the easy part. Along with a few sweet treats I picked up at the store, I recruited the talents of Lynlee, of Lynlee’s Petite Cakes , Christina, of Cookies Are My Canvas, Johanna, of Pop.O.Licious Cake Pops and Jessica of Vita Dolce Chocolates. I am always amazed to see the end products of talented dessert designers.

I had lots of fun products to display these beautiful desserts in, thanks to Amanda Graff of Hey Yo Yo! Amanda sent adorable pink trimmed berry baskets, red striped ice cream cups, cupcake liners & more! I added a little coordinating paper shred, some ribbon, a few of the sweet printables from Anders Ruff’s package to add some pizzazz, and what I like to refer to as ‘dessert heaven’ was created.

Lynlee’s fondant work (Lynlee’s Petite Cakes) was gorgeous! She was able to perfectly recreate the sweet cupcakes, sundaes, ice cream cones & fountain drinks from Anders Ruff’s printable package! Christina’s cookies (Cookies Are My Canvas)were also exceptional! She added edible glitter/luster dust which made the cookies have a beautiful sparkle in just the right places! I’ve been a long time fan of Johanna’s cake pops (Pop.O.Licious Cake Pops)! I’m fortunate to live close to her, but even if I didn’t, I’d still be choosing her for my cake pop needs! See those cute waffle cone and cupcake pops?!! Yum! Jessica (Vita Dolce Chocolates) sent a variety of yummy artisan chocolates, including truffles, heart shaped chocolates and ice cream cone chocolate suckers. I displayed them in ice cream glasses filled with pink & red M&Ms, topped off with a red glittered heart shaped cherry and striped straw!

My dining table was overflowing with Valentine’s goodies too. Glittered heart topiaries and apothecary jars filled with colorful candies served as centerpieces. Each place setting included an adorable heart cut out placemat, cute Anders Ruff printable wrapped napkins, ramekins filled with cute candy bars with fun AR Valentine wrappers, a raspberry milkshake and gourmet cupcake. Of course, each little sweetheart needed his/her own mailbox for storing sweet treats, take home favors & letters & cards too. I dressed the mailboxes up with 2″ circle toppers and Hershey’s Kiss labels from the Sweet Valentine’s Day printable package. (That’s the great thing about Anders Ruff’s printables, there are endless uses for the different designs included in each package!) My quick & inexpensive DIY idea for dressing up the chair backs involved gluing red heart paper plates to leftover strips of coordinating fabric. It added a fun pop of color to each seat.

It was obvious the kids enjoyed themselves. Smiles were big and laughs were loud!

They ate….and ate.

They decorated Valentine’s Day cards, made cootie catchers (yes, even the boys…who loved them!), colored their activity placemats & played games (from Anders Ruff’s printable Valentine’s package).

I may have to throw my kids and their friends myself a Valentine’s Day party every year!”
