Halloween Spooktacular Party!

How adorable is this HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR PARTY submitted by Kara Abrahamsen of Lillian Hope Designs!

Kara said- “It was so much fun to create this Halloween Spooktacular Dessert Table!!

Backdrop – I found this awesome lime green chevron wrapping paper at Target and then designed the rest of the party around this backdrop. The bat silhouettes are also from Target. I took a twig wreath that has been sitting in my craft closet forever and spray painted it purple. I then added a mini pennant banner that was made using the printable triangle flags from this collection and folding them over a piece of ribbon.

I used black ruffle fabric from Hobby Lobby for the front of the table and added some gauze spider webs over the top of the table. The spiders throughout the party were all originally black and orange. I spray painted a few purple and added glitter spray paint to all of them. I hung a Trick or Treat banner across the front of the buffet table; which is made easily by cutting out the triangles and using glue dots to mount the pieces to ribbon.

The spooky tree and spider web cake stand are both from Target. The spooky tree was purchased many years ago and I added glitter spray paint to jazz it up a bit! The witch brew bucket was purchased at Dollar tree and jazzed up with a printable party circle and some tulle. The chandeliers are from the Martha Stewart Halloween collection.

The purple cake stands were made from dollar tree items as seen on Joy’s Hope Blog. I used the same purple spray paint used throughout the party and then of course added glitter spray paint. The chevron favor bags with peek-a-boo hole where made using the tutorial on Kara’s Party Ideas. The witch hat cookies were made by my 7 year old daughter from Barb Schram’s blog.”

Lyndsey said- “Halloween is one of my most favorite party seasons. From the delicious autumn flavors and creative spooky dishes to the cute kids’ costumes, the cool weather and exciting atmosphere makes for a perfect celebration time. But since we just rounded a party corner at our house (3 summer birthdays and a gender reveal for our baby on the way!), we had to really think “budget” this year for Halloween. We wanted to feature our new Haunted Forest Collection and have a spooky but kid-friendly feel. By hunting down DIY tutorials online and borrowing/reusing props, we managed to set up a VERY low budget but spooky party that had the kids screaming with delight!

Food: All of our food was cheap and store bought (excluding the cookies). Our local grocer’s bakery had chocolate cupcakes for just pennies, to which we added cupcake toppers. The Sticky Apples were prepackaged from the grocery store and dressed up with ribbon and straw tags. And The Paula Deen Cinnamon Bundt Cake was an easy cake solution. (And let me be the first to say, just because it wasn’t homemade, doesn’t mean it wasn’t moist and delicious. It was MIA by the time we got home!) The owl cookies were from my sweet friend Kim of Kimmies Custom Cookies that she made to correspond with The Haunted Forest Invitation.

Costumes: When you have three children and multiple parties, you sometimes have to get creative with costumes! I searched the internet and found a super easy DIY tutorial for owl costumes by Alpha Mom (And I mean super easy! No sewing required!) All of the fabrics were on clearance at our local craft store. And for just a touch of whimsy, I ordered the cute owl masks from Opposite of Far on Etsy. The bat mask was an old recycled costume piece we dug up.”

Glamoween Halloween Party

This fantastic GLAMOWEEN HALLOWEEN PARTY was submitted by Maureen Anders of Anders Ruff!

Maureen said- “This year, we stepped away from the traditional orange and black and designed a fresh new printable design collection full of all things Halloween Glam. Pink + Purple + Lime mixed with Black and grey makes for a Glam Halloween. Glam-o-ween!

Guests were invited with a glam Halloween printable invitation that we embellished with little crystals.

A fun pink chandelier was the centerpiece focus on the backdrop. Instead of using a real chandelier, we designed a printable chandelier silhouette and printed/mounted it on foam core board and hung it from our grey chevron backdrop. Our printable “Glamoween” banner was strung from sparkly ribbon and hung on the front of the black dresser.

Lime green candies lined our trays to add a pop of color. Classic white platters were used to display fabulous cookies by Whip It Good Cookies. Erin decorated the cookies to match our printable graphics and they were delicious!

Black glass cake stands were used to display the cake (Got What It Cakes) as well as cupcakes that were adorned with Anders Ruff printable spooky glam cats. Chocolate covered Skeleton oreos (using a mold from Fancy Flours) were also displayed with the cupcakes.

A gorgeous lime and white chevron runner from A to Zebra Celebrations was used as a runner to display extra goodies.

Sweet Things designed a custom glam witch costume for our little model/guest of honor, Willow. Willow loved the drink bottles (Polka Dot Market) that we “glammed up” by embellishing with glittery ribbon and our printable drink wrap. Straws were flagged and stuck to the sides of the bottles with a glue dot.

Guests didn’t leave empty handed. Tricks and treats and everything sweet. Glittery glam gumballs from Polka Dot Market were bagged and topped with a folding bag topper from the Glam-o-ween printable collection.

The Glam-o-ween printable collection is available for purchase and instant download in the Anders Ruff Shop.”

Black & White Sophisticated Halloween Party

This spectacular BLACK & WHITE HALLOWEEN PARTY was submitted by Debbie of Wants and Wishes Design!

Debbie said- “This was a Black and White Sophisticated Halloween Party! I wanted to create a little different Halloween collection….. something that would be suitable for all ages: adults, teen and the young kids! I went with the classic black and white color scheme {like the old Hitchcock movies}. This allows you to pop any color you want or keep it a classic with black and white. If you are doing a teen scary movie party you could pop red with “bloody” items and watch a thriller! For the young kids, add a pop of orange for a not too scary party. For the adults, you can stick with the black and white and and watch the classic old movies along with it.

To create this Spooktacular Halloween Party we had “sinfully sweet” candy and desserts. Candy bars, rock candy suckers, M&M’s, mini mint spider eggs for refreshing the pallet. Some of the baked goods we had were chocolate cupcakes with black and white swirled frosting, homemade ghost and spider suckers, and cookies and cream popcorn.

In a tree, we hung witches caldrons closed with our 2″ printable topper as the “lid” secured with washi tape! There was also a DIY spider pom pom (tutorial coming soon to our blog!).”

Meri Meri $250 Halloween Party Pack Giveaway!

**THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED** Congratulations to Denisha, comment #604, for winning!! Your entry was chosen via Random.org**

We have another fabulous giveaway for you this week! Win a $250 Halloween Party Pack from Meri Meri!! Have you heard about, Meri Meri?! If you haven’t, you’re missing out….THE cutest party supplies & more! I’m a little obsessed with ALL of their products!

“It began in Los Angeles, 1985 . . . Meredithe (who’s childhood nickname was Meri Meri) sitting at her kitchen table . . . some scissors and pens, a BIG pot of glitter. Our first cards were made that way.

The magic spread. . . Local Stationery stores in Los Angeles loved those cards and asked for more. One kitchen table and one pair of scissors wasn’t enough. We needed lots of kitchen tables and an ENORMOUS pot of glitter.

Then, in 1987, we presented our little range of handmade cards at the National Stationery Show in New York. The response was phenomenal. Pretty soon there were major stores like Bergdorf Goodman taking on our range for their Christmas season. More kitchen tables and GREAT BIG SACKS of glitter!

The company grew from that little network of Moms working from home from Meredithe’s designs and direction.

Today . . . We don’t design on kitchen tables anymore. We now work in studios in a 400 year old building, overlooking an ancient churchyard in a little town called Cheltenham, 1 hour west of London, England. But we still have our scissors and our pens and all the glitter . .

These days Meredithe heads a studio of twenty designers and art workers and Meri Meri products are sold all over the world. Life is a little busier than it used to be. We’re working on lots of new projects, from our traditional cards and invitations, Bakeware, Gifts, Partyware and so much more!”
