This adorable ARIEL + UNDER THE SEA SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Joanne of Cakes by Joanne Charmand.
This Ariel under the sea party is so beautiful! A few of my favorite elements are:
The stunning mermaid fondant cake
The clamshell shaped cookies
The simple but effective use of paper fringe for an ocean backdrop
and MORE!
This is what Joanne said about planning the party- “This setup was for my gorgeous niece’s 2nd birthday. She loves Ariel and loves the water! The party was actually at the pool so it was a challenge setting up the buffet as we could not use any glass. I made all the cupcake wrappers simply by getting the different shades of glittery paper from Lincraft. The beautiful photo on the ocean backdrop was taken The White Room Photography.”
This adorable DADDY’S LITTLE PRINCESS FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Justine of Pretty Little Vintage Melbourne.
There are so many things that I love about this sweet princess party! A few of my favorite elements are:
The gorgeous pink ombre ruffle cake topped with a fondant princess crown
This is what Justine said about planning the party- “I recently styled my daughter’s first birthday which was held overseas whilst we were on vacation visiting the grandparents. I’d like to share how and what I did to design the party with the limited resources that I had with me as I was in a different country.
As my daughter was born just 4 days before my husband’s birthday, we took her home from the hospital for the first time on his birthday so when we were deciding on a theme for her first birthday we both knew that “Daddy’s Little Princess” was the way to go.
Styling in a different country was like working with a blank canvas as I had limited resources and contacts. However, I was inspired by my daughter’s ruffle tutu gown to create a special tutu-like princess dessert table. I designed a trestle cover that was made out of multiple layers of tulle which was then custom made by a local seamstress.
Party printables were custom designed by Mon Tresor, and the backdrop was designed by myself. I custom made princess party hats that were embelished with lace and princess veils, converted from regular dollar shop party hats. I also hand made princess tutu cupcake toppers from crepe paper which were sewn together and affixed to pink paper straws.
Accompanying the beautiful ruffle ombre crown topper cake were delicious desserts like Sparkle Fairy Cookie Pops, Crown Cookies with little Princesses names, Pink Macarons, Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Yogurt Mousse and Vanilla Cupcakes. Also, there was a gorgeous display of pink and white colored candy in apothecary jars embellished with a variety of my daughter’s gorgeous headbands. Mini “milk bottles” were converted from juice bottles from a local supermarket.
Other details included pre-wrapped tulle almond candy packs for guests who left early before the candy bar was open, a “Cinderella’s Feet” impressions kit activity for my daughter’s little guests to take part in as they are all still very young which also worked as a keepsake from the party. Each girl went home with a personalised princess story book featuring their names as well as my daughter’s name in the story line. A polaroid booth was also setup for all the guests as well as take-home candy bags for all who came to celebrate this special day. The kid’s table was decorated with tutu chair covers which also doubled up as a take home gift for the older girls.”

This spa party is so fun because of its unique color palette (a diversion from the pink or lilac often used for girl parties) and because it has so many creative ideas! Some of my favorite elements are:
This is what Danielle said about planning the party- “I am by no means a party planner; however, when my daughter’s birthday rolls around every year, I inevitably want to pull something together. I love crafting and never have the time for it, so her birthday gives me a good excuse to do it at least once a year!
For the party, I really wanted to play on my daughter’s favorite color (PINK, of course!). We used any and all shades of pink with tons of patterns. The dresser that was used for the dessert table as well as the rug underneath are from my daughter’s bedroom. She helped me make the ribbon curtain (from approximately 100yds of ribbon!) and the vases covered in ribbon. Lauren, of Capes & Crowns, came over one day to help me spray paint 4 chairs, 10 trays, and 10 frames with every shade of pink I could find. I really couldn’t have pulled this all together without the help!
All of the decorations were DIY – the printables, the framed “5″, all frames, chairs, platters, vases, etc. I was lucky enough to find the paper straws and cupcake cups locally and they went with the theme perfectly!”
