‘Girl on a Swing’ Birthday Party

This adorable ‘GIRL ON A SWING’ BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Karen Ayars from Brazil. WHAT a clever and unique theme! So darling. Makes me think of my childhood and how much I loved to swing on the swings at the park near my home!

Karen said- “I went down to Brazil, my birthplace, and I celebrated my little girl’s 3rd Birthday (again) with my relativesdown there. I wanted to do something VERY simple. (I didn’t want to spend much, given she just had another 3rd birthday party 3 months ago). So I chose awhimsical theme that I have never seen done before but simple enough that my mind wouldn’t go crazy with ideas and then making me go over budget.

I just focused on the main table, the kids table, and the “favors’ corner”. The backdrop for the main table was the invitation design made in wood, and it tuned out just perfect!!! On the table I used just very simple flowers in baskets. In one ofthem I put caramel popcorn on sticks, on the smaller one I had little”sunflowers” made of chocolate bonbons with M&M’s all around it.(They were simply delicious!!!) I also had a version of caramel apples made, but instead of caramel, fondant was used and the effect was beautiful and thetaste even better!!! I also used the oh so famous cupcakes in a jar as well assome bonbons on the smaller cake stands. By the main table, there was a littleladder in which I put a bigger version of macaroons on stripy straws.

For favors I gave a basket full ofall the goodies from the party (cupcakes with the girl on the swing drawn onthem, cookies on a stick, push-ups the fondant apples, cake pops and brigadeiro(a specialty from Brazil) in a tube along with a wooden puzzle, with a tag thatsaid: “me leva pra casa”, which means: ‘take me home’.”
