Monster Themed Baby Shower

This adorable MONSTER THEMED BABY SHOWER was submitted by Christina Christian of Something Chic Party and Event!

Christina said this about planning the party- “This Little Monsters themed baby shower was inspired by the Ikea Little Monsters collection. We styled our focal point on monstrous decor items, which the mother-to-be raved about. The shower was held on a beautiful winter afternoon. Although it’s winter, she requested that we stick with the primary colors while allowing the beauty of nature take center stage. The sweet treats we package were cupcakes, Mike and Ikes, rock candy, and cookies n’ creme chocolate bars.”

New Year’s Eve Themed Baby Shower

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! To start off the new year right, today I am featuring this darling NEW YEAR’S EVE THEMED BABY SHOWER submitted by Miranda Konieczny of Whimsically Detailed! Such a fun and unique theme for a baby shower, don’t you think! I love it!

Here is what Miranda said about planning the party- “3, 2, 1… The Countdown Has Begun! My vision behind the New Years Eve Baby Shower was lots of glitter in silver and pinks with clocks and top hats. I wanted a theme that could be done not only a baby shower, but as well as a bridal shower or even a New Years Eve Party. I first took my sewing table, some modge podge and a foam paint brush and covered the top with silver glitter. On top of that table went the drinks. Since it was for new Years you of course need champagne. I added the rock candy for a little extra effect, flavor and color. The other milk bottles held pink lemonade. I created the glitter effect on the bottle of those glasses with painter tape and then sprayed spray adhesive on them, followed with the pink glitter. My main dessert table held the pink pillow cookies, macarons, cupcakes, strawberry pudding, cake pops and Top Hat favor boxes. The New Years babies were made by Sugar High and she created exactly what I had envisioned. I wanted a cute little baby with a clock and top hat and tall enough to make a statement. I also placed one on top of the ruffle cake. Much Ado About Cookies created the pillow like cookies with the silver pearls. I wanted to stick with a bit more simple design with the cookies and got too “cutsey”. I did mini cupcakes it the bell jar and add the smaller version of the cupcake wrappers onto them. The clock frames were a simple touch to the whole table as well. The Top Hat favor boxes were another favorite of mine. I added the pink satin ribbon to each of them as well. They added the perfect touch to the table. The cake pops were made local and covered in disco dust. I then added the paper straws and flags with rhinestones as well to make them pop a bit more. They sat on a frame that was glitterized with pink cardstock in place of a picture. The cake was my first attempt at a ribbon cake. I wanted to add one of the baby fondant toppers to it and added just enough ruffle to be able to place the baby on top. I added a bit of silver disco dust for added effect. My idea for the balloons hanging came from Wants and Wishes. I didn’t want to use big balloons so opted for the 12″ in pink, silver and white pearl. For the backdrop I created a 20×30 image to mirror the invitation. The beautiful fringe garland came from the Fringe Exchange and was made to match my design. The table cloth was pretty pink satin fabric purchased from from Hobby Lobby. I sprinkled a bit of the silver glitter onto the top as well for added effect. I made glitterized spoons for the mini cups that were dipped in pink chocolate and pink pearls. Strawberry pudding was placed inside. The macarons were made local and for an added touch I place pink pearls around them. I truly enjoyed getting to create this table and had so much fun thinking outside the box for a theme!”

Pretty in Purple Baby Shower

My next feature, a PRETTY IN PURPLE BABY SHOWER, was submitted by Kim White of Two’s a Party. What a beautiful celebration! Everything is so elegant and pretty! I hope you gain a lot of inspiration and ideas from this darling event.

Kim said this about planning the party- “One of our new friends, Lauren Avila of Lauren Avila Photography mentioned she was throwing a baby shower for her best friend, who is having a girl. We jumped at the chance to offer to help! She had picked the purple colors, made candy bar wrappers, a pennant, some pom pom’s and the shower was to be held at the beautiful home of her in-laws. We took our direction from the pieces she had and styled the dessert and candy tables, brought in Deborah Fay from Romance Etc to work her magic on the centerpieces and had a blast working with Lauren, her friends and family. We brought in grape gummy bears, blueberry jelly beans and huckleberry taffy. Simply Layered created the blueberry parfaits and champagne panna cotta. German chocolate cake, carrot cake cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes and lemon pie from Bake and Broil. We loved making the small cake pennant for the cake and had fun with the different patterns and rustic elegant theme!”

Circus Themed Baby Shower

I’m loving this CIRCUS THEMED BABY SHOWER submitted by Jennifer Stolfi! The ferris wheel cupcake holder in the middle of the table is my favorite!

Jennifer said this about planning the party- “This was a Circus Themed Baby Shower that I threw for my sister, Katie. She’s having a baby girl named Claire. A couple years ago I fell in love with and purchased a wrought iron Ferris wheel and have been dying to have a circus party! The Ferris wheel became the inspiration and focal point for the shower. I have a slight obsessions with crafting and party planning so most everything at the party was made by me from almost all the desserts to all the decorations.

Decor:
I choose bright fun girly colors of yellow, orange, hot pink, light pink and turquoise for all the decor and desserts. A colorful ribbon banner hung from the dessert table and we placed tissue balls over an old painting to create a beautiful work of art behind the table. I made elephant and giraffe pictures to hand on either side of this. These were a gift to my sister to hang in the babies room. Balloons, streamers and sparkly circle garland hung over the main room to create a “big top” and were used as decorations throughout the party. Spray painted gold animals we scattered all over the party right down to the cake topper and jars filled with peanuts and flags were used as table centerpieces.

Food:
All of the food was circus themed from pulled pork and chicken salad sliders, chips and dip, mini corn dogs, fruit kabobs, pretzel bites dipped in cheese and tater tots. The dessert table included Elephant sugar cookies, white powdered sugar donuts, cupcakes with cotton candy toppers, white chocolate covered popcorn, iced animal crackers, a gorgeous polka dot cake and an assortment of candy.

Favors:
The favors were pink scalloped boxes filled with frosted animal crackers.

Game:
Each guest drew and envelope from a basket that contained a picture of a baby. The lady who found the baby with “mama” or “dada”: picture on it won. The prizes were big clear bowls filled with all sorts of popcorn and chocolate lollipop lips and mustaches.

To top the day off, my husband surprised me by buying our dog the cutest lion costume. The circus was complete with wild animals to help celebrate!”
