Miranda said this about planning the party- “I was very excited when asked by Baby Lifestyles to create a Fall Baby Shower! I instantly had ideas of burlap and lace mixed with apples and pumpkins and then tea lights, rustic aspects everywhere and lots of sweets! I wanted something that could not only be used for a baby shower but also for a fall dessert table and possibly a simple fall bridal table. I love burlap and love using it in my parties so this was a perfect opportunity to use it!

My friend Sandra from Sandra Bludau Photography was instantly on board and even found us a spot to shoot!

I wanted to keep the printables simple so that if someone wanted it changed to say Thanksgiving then there was no problem doing so. I also wanted to create something more elegant and more adult like. I don’t know how many times I see the rubber duck and think of how I wish I could take over! I wanted shape to the printables as well instead of just your basic squares and rectangles and I believe I accomplished all of that.

I decided on a double invitation. Many times I run across clients wanting to more information on an invitation than can fit. This way there is plenty of room. All of the extra information can go onto the RSVP card!

I used my placement cards to label all food but not only for that, I thought it would be nice to put the vendors name below each treat. This is a great way for hostesses to also place names of the guest on for their place at a table or even as each guest enters they can find their card and make a “wish” for the baby to be. The mother can place this in a scrapbook or keep for future reading! I created the bunting with strips of burlap and lace with each piece tied with twine onto a long string of twine.

I used the smaller mason jars and placed a tea light in each one and topped with a daisy mason lid. The holes in the lid were perfect so that I could hang them with twin from the tree and they brought an extra touch to it all. I even strung lights on the top and bottom of the table.

Decorations consisted mainly of what I already use for décor in my own home. I have a very rustic feel to my house so it was pretty easy to pick and choose. I also love baskets and that was very simple since I wanted to incorporate baskets around the table. Pumpkins and apples were also placed throughout and since it’s not quite Fall here I found some realistic looking Fall Leaves to spread throughout.

Burlap was placed as a table runner and as well as the cover for the baskets and draped over the chair. I love lace as well and contacted my friend Mandy from Lacy Mae Designs and she happily sent me some baby clothes that were very frilly and lacy. I especially love the dress hanging from the chair and the ruffle butts I placed in the set up as well! These are items I use lots with my daughter and she loves dressing up in them! I always create a basket of gifts for the mother to be so decided to bring that into the shoot as well. Old family photos placed in a shadow box for the baby’s room, a shabby chic doll, ruffle onesie, and even a beautiful necklace!

I didn’t want to do a huge cake so opted out for a bunting cake that I could decorate with fondant leaves by Lynlee’s Petite Cakes who also created the baby onesies and bibs that were placed around the bell jar. I was so very excited to have a use for my bell jar! I was very fortunate to have some pretty awesome ladies ready to create the sweets that would coordinate with this theme. I even was fortunate enough to taste Brigadeiro for the first time and I don’t think an event would be complete without this tasty treat! I didn’t realize till afterwards though that I had made a mistake in the labeling of the cake pops. I accidentally switched the place cards of the ladies who created them and can not believe the mix up happened!!”

Fall, Harvest, Thanksgiving Caramel Apple Party

My next party feature goes to this fun CARAMEL APPLE PARTY submitted by Michelle Wamboldt of Favor Box Bakery. Such a perfect fall party theme…so clever! Everything looks delicious. The display and set up is so visually stunning. Great job, Michelle! Thanks for your submission! Congratulations on being chosen as a feature!
Here is what Michelle said about the party- “Having been in the baking industry for awhile now, we knew it was the official month for National Cookie Day, National Dessert Day, National Apple Day, and National Caramel Day…so we decided to celebrate them all with- A Caramel Apple Affaire…
This was such a fun day! A day of making your own caramel apples, drinking apple cider, eating caramel apple pie, and playing in piles of leaves on a sunny Autumn Day with family and friends!
Guests made their own caramel apples and topped them with chocolate, sprinkles, nuts, and candies! Every guest had a favor tag with their name printed on it. When they finished making their caramel apple, we put them in Caramel Apple Favor Boxes for them to take home. Everyone also took home a Caramel Apple Mini Pie in a favor box, and a Caramel Apple Cupcake kit.” Vendors:

Halloween & Thanksgiving Party! Harvest, Fall Party! Downloads!

My next party feature is this lovely HALLOWEEN AND THANKSGIVING PARTY submitted by Kori Clark of Paper & Pigtails! What a perfect concept…a fall party that would work for both thanksgiving & halloween! Genius! All the party printables for the party are just darling. The best part…Kori is offering the halloween circles, fall circles, halloween sign & fall sign to my readers for FREE. Download them here! Thank you, Kori!! The rest of the adorable party printables can be purchased in her shop here. Kori said- “This shoot comes from the most practical and honest side of me. At the risk of being tarred and feathered by party loving friends, I haven’t really ever decorated for Halloween….I decorate for fall and tweak little bits to change things up from Halloween through Thanksgiving. This is how I came up with the concept of a party that could be easily put together for a Halloween Party, and all of the items and details could be used again for a family Thanksgiving dinner, or even just fall entertaining!
The design for the shoot was based on the printable designs used, and I wanted to focus on white pumpkins with a silhouette feel. I wanted to get away from typical Halloween colors with a crisp white and deep chocolate browns.
The dessert table is always a favorite of mine, as I think it provides a beautiful backdrop to a get together! I covered the table in chocolate colored linens, and then created my own “table runners” but placing a strip of double sided tape down each side and adhering doilies and white pumpkin cut outs across the top of the table and down the front. To give a little height and definition, I hung strips of burlap made like large tassles in the trees to hang down on either side. The table featured darling fondant pumpkins from , a holiday framed sign (one for Halloween and another one for Thanksgiving), pecan pie bits, cupcakes, and a beautiful cake and cake pops made by a friend who will be launching her cakerie in 2012!! I also made chocolate covered marshmallows to look like white pumpkins!
The kids table had the same doilies and pumpkin cut outs along with a container of crayons for the little ones to color them with! At each place setting there was a stick of rock candy for a little take home treat.
Sweet Things Kids created an outfit to coordinate with the printables and I just adore it! The tutu was so fluffy and she used the same material from the pumpkin to make a tie for the little guy!”
