This bright and colorful LALALOOPSY DOLL THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Alessandra of Sua Festinha.
A few of the things I like best about this festive Lalaloopsy doll themed party are:
The ornate wooden frames in various sizes, shapes and colors hung on the wall
The fondant button shaped cupcake toppers
The embroidery hoops used as frames and hung from ribbon as a backdrop for the favor table
This is what Amber said about planning the party- “The idea for Landry’s party began with a plan for a doll bed I found online at Anna White Homemaker. The plan was simple enough for kids to participate, and the site even suggested it as an activity for a birthday party. Each bed would only cost about $2 to make, so it sounded like a great idea to me. Since we were going to make doll beds at the party, I thought the theme should be “Dollie and Me”. This would be my daughter’s first all girl party, and every girl was encouraged to bring her favorite doll with her.As I continued to think about all the details of the party, I knew we simply must include a tea party! A little inspiration from pinterest and chats with my mom, and we had a plan that had grown into something much more detailed than originally anticipated. As each detail came to fruition, I was absolutely thrilled. In the end I was pleased with how it all came together so well, especially since we were able to accomplish it on such a tight budget!
Outside, I needed something to fill my empty flower pots, so I used some scrap wood to make signs. Â I drew them out and mom painted. Â For the wreath, I just used a chipboard “L” and decoupaged it with scrapbook paper. Â I attached it to a wreath I already had on hand. Â The flowers are made with scrapbook paper as well. Â The instructions from making these flowers are found online at Jones Design Company.
The table backdrop is just scrapbook paper. I slapped some masking tape to the back and stuck it up on the wall. The beautiful cake was made by my sweet neighbor and friend. Â It went so perfectly with the theme! I used a method from That’s My Letter for the table cloth.
Photo Booths are so popular and fun at parties. And since the girls’ dolls were invited to the party, I thought it was only fair that they have photo props as well. Â I used my handy dandy Silhouette to make them. Â I just attached them to bamboo skewers. If you don’t have a Silhouette yet, put it on your wish list now!!! Â Tell your husband it can be your birthday, anniversary, and Christmas gift all in one. Â It is the handiest tool and you won’t regret it!
I was able to borrow enough little tables and chairs from friends to accommodate all of our little guests. We draped white fabric and lace table cloths, and made simple pink polka dot table runners. Â My mom used her silhouette to cut out the paper tea cups, and we filled them with “Pink Party Popcorn” we found on Pizzazerie. Â I re-purposed soda bottles for the vases and made the same type of paper flowers as the ones on the wreath.”
This adorable VALENTINE TEA PARTY was submitted by Lisa Luebe of Sweet Pop Studio. What a fun way for a girl to show her love for her dolls and her friends on Valentine’s Day!
This tea party has so many sweet elements. Some of my favorites are:
Here’s what Lisa had to say about planning this party- “My daughter wanted to have a tea party with her friends and their American Girl dolls. What better time of year to do a tea party then Valentine’s day with all the hearts and pink colors?
We held the party at my mom’s house in a room that was already painted to perfectly match the color scheme.
I wanted the girls to have outfits that they and their dolls could wear for the tea party. My mom made the matching skirts and shirts for the girls and their dolls (the girls’ tank tops were purchased). After getting dressed, the girls then went to the dress up station where they picked their jewels and hair accessories.
The girls enjoyed pb&j heart shaped sandwiches served in a wooden fruit basket with a side of cut fruit. There were also marshmallows dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with hearts, vanilla cupcakes with sweet cream frosting, pink juice and pretend tea. The dolls had their very own table and mini versions of some of the foods.”
