This is what Bethany said about planning the party- “My daughter, Abby, is in loooooove with Merida from Disney’s Brave…..she loves the movie as a whole, but is particularly enchanted with Merida herself. I think it’s the hair, since my daughter also has wild red hair. So, we went with that and made the wild Merida hair one of our design focal points.
Once Jessica Flynn of Capture Photography nailed the design down, I was off and rolling. I had a particularly fun time planning the party activities. We had a Crafty Carver beading station, a archery contest, and a willo the wisp hunt — all very in keeping with Merida’s story. My daughter was thrilled to be included in the painting of both the Crafty Carver bead box and archery target (which also served as a dessert table backdrop), and also helped assemble the “willo the wisp” candies. By far, the biggest hit of the day was the willo the wisp hunt — the girls went wild for it!
Regarding food, I was thrilled to find a local baker who used the invitation as the inspiration for the cake design. And it tasted even better than it looked, which was quite a feat! I also hired Posh Desserts to provide the bear cub cake pops to represent Merida’s triplet brothers in the film — they were cute, perfect, delicious little bites of goodness. The “Merida hair” licorice and willo the wisp cotton candy cups were random strokes of genius while strolling through the aisles at Smart n’ Final . . . and I was pretty darn excited about how they turned out. :) Lastly, the bear paw cookies were actually a gluten free option based on a delicious recipe from Elana’s Pantry since several members of my family and friends are allergic to wheat.
This was definitely one of the most fun parties I have EVER put together — and my daughter’s sheer glee at the event made every ounce of sweat and money spent worth it. It was a joy to do and a complete success!”

This absolutely amazing PRINCESS CINDERELLA THEMED FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Alan Phillip of Alan Phillip Photography.
This Cinderella party is so over-the-top stunning, I almost don’t even know where to begin in choosing what I love most about it, but I’ll try! Here goes…I love:
The entire dessert table set up, including the white pergola, the chandelier, the birds holding up the ribbon, the ornate pink table, the silver painted pumpkins, etc, etc, etc…
The high heel shoe favor boxes
The blue Cinderella gown and silver pumpkin carriage cake pops
The larger than life glass slipper and pumpkin carriage made out of balloons
The birthday girl’s “glass slipper” Converse shoes
This adorable ARIEL + UNDER THE SEA SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Joanne of Cakes by Joanne Charmand.
This Ariel under the sea party is so beautiful! A few of my favorite elements are:
The stunning mermaid fondant cake
The clamshell shaped cookies
The simple but effective use of paper fringe for an ocean backdrop
and MORE!
This is what Joanne said about planning the party- “This setup was for my gorgeous niece’s 2nd birthday. She loves Ariel and loves the water! The party was actually at the pool so it was a challenge setting up the buffet as we could not use any glass. I made all the cupcake wrappers simply by getting the different shades of glittery paper from Lincraft. The beautiful photo on the ocean backdrop was taken The White Room Photography.”
This SNOW WHITE FOURTH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Vanessa Rodrigues of Chic & Sweet Party Design.
From shiny apples to vibrant color schemes, Snow White parties are always so bright and happy! Here are some of my favorite elements of this one:
The water bottles dressed like Snow White and Prince Charming
The high heel shoe favor containers
The 5-tiered fabric and ribbon cake
and MORE!
This is what Vanessa said about the party- “This party was designed for little princess Grace for her 4th birthday. Her mom, Fernanda Curione, wanted something chic and clean. We provided favors related to the Snow White theme: cute high heels shoes with candy necklaces, forest animals finger puppets, bird whistles and ‘diamond ring’ containers. We had a wonderful time working for this blessed family.”
