Western Themed 1st Communion Party

This fun WESTERN THEMED FIRST COMMUNION PARTY was submitted by Susana & Clara of DULCESOBREMESA! So cute! So many adorable ideas that would be perfect for a birthday party or baby shower, even!

Susana said this about planning the party- “We styled this party for a modern First Communion celebration. The Western theme was a surprise for Raul, a very sweet boy who loves horses, cowboys and Playmobil® toys.

We created a single backdrop that we used for three different Western scenes that took place during this day-long celebration at different spots of Raul’s home.

First, as guests arrived they had their pictures taken at the photocall. A few hours later, cake and favors were provided after lunch was served We designed this cake that features a real Playmobil® figurine on top and the First Communion boy modeled figure at the bottom, who just joined the party and is wearing a cowboy hat. The cake was served on wooden plates with decorated wooden spoons, napkins and a mini flag topper. The favors were drawing pads and small chocolate boxes, also designed by us.

At last, the sweets table was presented with many yummy treats! Gummy hamburgers & sodas, cupcakes, popcorn, ham and cheese brioches, mini waffles with Nutella, ice pops, candy stones and a bank of m&m’s filled gold ingots.

As everything was designed and handmade by us with lots and lots of love!”

Classic Cowboy Birthday Party

This super cute CLASSIC COWBOY BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Mariah Leeson of Giggles Galore. I just love the charming farm party theme…this one in particular is full of ideas & inspiration!

This is what Mariah said about planning the party- “Yee Haw! Saddle up partners because it’s time to celebrate a special buckaroo with this Classic Cowboy Birthday Party!

I recently had the pleasure of styling this cowboy themed party featuring printable designs from Lauren Haddox Designs. This classic cowboy party package included rustic details and a cheerful color combination of blue and red. I used neutral tones with the hay, burlap and wood to highlight the design and create decorations for the party. I rounded up a collection of cowboy themed props and borrowed a few items like the saddle and rope to create a party fit for a cowboy. Guest could fill their pie tins with classic cowboy grub including pork sliders, cornbread muffins, baked beans, wagon wheel pasta. At the Waterin’ Hole guest could wash it all down with water, old fashioned root beer or fill their glass jars with lemonade. Even cowboys have a sweet tooth and the little buckaroo’s could enjoy S’mores Marshmallow Pops, Popcorn Balls, cupcakes and chocolate candy. Before they saddled up and rode home each little buckaroo received a burlap sack filled with sa lt water taffy, a red bandanna a toy horse and a cowboy hat. The bigger cowboys and cowgirls took home a cornbread muffin mix in Mason jars (one of my favorite elements from this party package.)”

Cowboy Themed 3rd Birthday Party

The details of this COWBOY WESTERN THEMED THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Alexis of Alexis Campbell Event Styling are just darling!

Here is what Alexis had to say about planning the party- ”When deciding on a theme for my son Zachary’s third birthday, a cowboy theme was the first thing that popped into my head.  As the plan began brewing I knew I wanted something simple and not overly “kiddy”.  First stop was the printables, which didn’t take long since The Tomkat Studio was reading my mind with the most adorable red and blue set.  As I continued to browse the sites I came across an adorable cowgirl party put together by Amber of Fashionably Baked for her daughter.  Amber’s invitation was the perfect fit for Zachary’s party, needing to only be tweaked from Cow Girl to Boy.  Amber had the proof in my hand only a few days later and the invitations were ready to go.”

Continued from Alexis…

Food
The adults were treated to homemade sausage and peppers, pasta salad, Greek salad, and sliced watermelon, all specially prepared by Zachary’s MIMI.  The kids enjoyed the ever famous Chick-Fil-A chicken tenders, homemade macaroni and cheese (by yours truly) and sliced watermelon. At the “watering hole” the adults enjoyed ice cold water with fresh lemon and lime slices and galvanized buckets full of bottles of beer. Drinks were served in mason jars tied with jute and topped off with a blue or red striped straw from The Tomkat Studio. Also, everyone was able to cool off at the refreshing, yet filling, rootbeer float station, what a hit! Vanilla ice cream was scooped into mason jars and topped off with ice cold rootbeer and enjoyed by all under the hot Florida sun.

Desserts
The goal of the dessert table was to keep it simple. In keeping with that, I went with vanilla cupcakes, caramel apples, s’more pops, potato chips and chocolate chip cookies.  Mandy at Sugar on Top provided the most delicious sugar cookie cowboy boots, hats and stars that matched the printables to perfection.  I also added a “make your own trail mix” station on the table for all to scoop a perfect combination of snacks for themselves to go in brown paper bags with a “thank you” tag on the front. Everyone went home with smiles on their faces as well as stuffed bags of yummy trail mix!

Each child was able to dress the part as each seat at the kids table included a bandana, cowboy hat and Sherriff’s badge. The cowboys and cowgirls kept busy as coloring pages from Anders Ruff were waiting for each to color on while their parents made their plates. Bales of hay were lined in the back yard for the kids to sit on while waiting for a pony ride. When Zachary saw the pony he was so excited he wanted to keep it, but not so happy when he found out that wasn’t an option! He never got off the pony and enjoyed every minute with “his” horses. All of the kids wore their hats and bandanas and it was simply adorable. I will never forget this birthday and the look on Zachary’s face.  He truly felt like a cowboy for the day. Now the tricky part, having to top it next year!”

Western Turquoise Baby Shower

I am loving this WESTERN TURQUOISE BABY SHOWER submitted by Miranda Konieczny of Whimsical Printables. The brown and aqua colors made everything so darling!

Miranda said- “I was super excited when my friend Dara agreed to let me throw her a baby shower! She was really excited when I told her that I wanted to do a western themed shower and incorporate turquoise!! So I gathered up my party gals and went to town on it all. The wonderful welcome wreath came from the very talented Natalie of the The Knock-Knock Factory. She knew exactly what I wanted and captured it so well! My friend and fellow hostess, Brandi, tea stained onesies for me and I put these cute iron on’s on them! I really loved being able to hang them with the rope. I also love making diaper cakes and this one was really fun. As was setting up the tables! The “Make A Wish” station was a real hit as well. I couldn’t believe I found a horseshoe tree either! Each guest was able to write a small note for the baby and hang from the tree. The adorable cookies were made by Dandy Delights. She always makes the most perfect cookies for me! Lynlee from Lynlee’s Petite Cakes always makes my fondant toppers for me and I am blown away each time by her creativity! I decided to try out the chocolate covered Oreos I hear everyone raving about and omg, they are SOOOO good! Sweet Temptations did an amazing job on them too. Each guest got to go home with a small berry basket with a package of sunflower seeds. They also had lots to carry from the dessert table. The winners of the games each received a mason jar filled with the ingredients for “cowboy cookies”, made using a very easy and wonderful idea that I found via Bakerella.com. I was super excited to see the look on my friends face when she walked in and was even more happy that everyone enjoyed the event.” Vendors and Credits: Fondant- Lynlee’s Petite Cakes Wreath- The Knock-Knock Factory Chocolate Covered Oreos- Sweet Temptations Cookies- Dandy Delights Cake Pops- My Cake Pop Shop Berry Baskets- Pick Fair Photography- Amy Craft Photography Chalkboard Labels for jars- Embellishing Life Paper Straws- Isakay Boutique Setup, Invitation & Printables- Whimsical Printables Items used in this party that are available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop: Berry Baskets Brown Pillow Boxes Striped Paper Straws Jumbo Polka Dot Balloons Jute Twine Clear Cello Bags Brown Paper Krinkled Shred The above berry baskets are available to purchase here.
