This charming MILK & COOKIES SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Elizabeth Sprague of Lemonberry Moon.
I love the creativity of this cookies and milk party! There are so many fabulous (and delicious looking) elements & ideas here. A few of my favorites are:
This is what Elizabeth said about the party- “The hardest part about this party was not eating it all before I photographed it! Forever Your Prints‘ label set was the perfect starting point for the table design. Chocolate chip cookies, whoopie pies and peanut butter blossoms (all featured in the labels) were baked and displayed throughout the table. My favorite treat had to be the three layer cookie bars though, check out how I took them even further here. I also made white chocolate “milk mustaches” to put next to the milk buffet offering up chocolate, strawberry and white milk.
Cupcakes were chocolate and topped with a cookie dough frosting and a homemade chocolate chip cookie. Dipped Oreos were topped with adorable fondant toppers from Rachel at Fondant Flinger right down to the “Yum”on the Oreo! The amazing decorated cookies were provided by Katie’s Creative Baking and tasted just as delicious as they look!
I am in love with this PINK FARM THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Gretchen of Three Little Monkeys Studio! What an adorable girly celebration! It looks like Gretchen had so much fun planning this special event for her daughter…a lot of really cute ideas!
Gretchen said- “Madeline’s favorite things are the color pink and animals of all kinds. So when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she chose a pink farm birthday … with chocolate chips. So with feedback from her, I designed a vintage pink collection for her in pinks, creams and browns, with lots of cows, pigs and chickens to round out that farm feel. To keep it feminine and girly, I alternated floral, gingham and striped prints.
I am not the best about sticking to a budget (just ask my husband), but I do try to use things from around the house and homemade treats whenever possible to keep costs under control. I delegate cookies, cake and fondant work to some truly fab ladies who have mad skills. The rest of the treats are dressed up homemade or store bought treats to keep it a budget party….{continued below}

Continued……”Miss M requested lots of chocolate chips and cookies, so I made sure everything served had chocolate chips or cookies in the recipe, as well as some of her favorite treats. I served sugar cookies made to look like cows and faux chocolate chip cookies by the fabulous Cookies With Character, fondant chocolate chip cookies by Edible Details topped a store-bought cake, chocolate cupcakes, homemade cookie cheesecake shooters, chocolate truffles, and homemade chocolate chip sandwich cookies, with many of the treats being dairy-free to accommodate my son’s dairy allergy.
For beverages, I served pink lemonade and chocolate almond milk. The milk bottles were actually Starbucks frappucino bottles that I removed the labels from, and then covered with “Farm Fresh” bottle labels from my collection and some chocolate brown ribbon. The pink lemonade was served in ordinary mason jars decorated with lace ribbon, flower mason jar lids from Mindy Mae’s Market, paper straws, and straw flags from my collection.
For decorations, I used antiques from my own collection and from my favorite local flea markets, Good Ju Ju and The Fleating Flea. Flea market finds included a rustic, chippy old barn door placed on its side for my back drop, an old vintage milk crate to elevate the cake stand, and a rusty metal cow. To bring the outdoors in, I used two vases from my milk glass collection and filled them with wildflowers found in our neighborhood, and roses and hydrangeas from the garden.
I decorated a large “M” for Madeline that I found at a hobby store by spray painting it brown and then decorated with homemade pink and green felt flowers attached with glue dots to the corner of the initial. It made the table pretty, and now Miss M has a special reminder of her big day.
I reused the doily bunting I made for my Grandmother’s party, which is simply old crocheted doilies folded over twine and sealed with a bit of hot glue. I used doilies picked up from flea markets and old, stained doilies from our family that were able to be given a second life (folding over conceals the stains). I have also seen crocheted doilies at Dollar General, which would also work well in a pinch.
To give the food labels and milk bottle labels more of a vintage flair, I used a Doily Lace edge punch from Martha Stewart Crafts (picked up at Hobby Lobby). It really added a special touch and made an ordinary strip of scrap book paper look like lace.
I created flag toppers for the cake and to give the sandwich cookies some flair using the tutorial from One Charming Party.
For party favors, I gave away glassine bags filled with homemade chocolate chip cookies and a treat bag topper from my collection.
The birthday girl wore a party hat from Prop Shop Boutique that Jessica custom made to go with our shabby chic look.”
Oh goodness, if you have a Cookie Monster lover in your home then this is the party for you! So many cute ideas here! How darling is this COOKIE MONSTER COOKIES & MILK 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Lauren Borquez of Being the Borquez’s!
Lauren said- “When I started planning Logan’s first birthday party the first two things that came to my mind is his love for milk and his unique, sweet personality. A cookies and milk party for my little one seemed like an obvious choice. I wanted the feel of a classic cookies and milk party but I also wanted to make sure that Cookie Monster himself played a role. After all, he snuggles with a plush Cookie Monster every night before bedtime and lets be honest who doesn’t adore Cookie Monster?! I wanted to make sure that this party had an intimate and sentimental touch. It was a family only affair and I asked each family member to bake their favorite cookie. Those cookies, along with a Cookie Monster cake and cupcakes were served to our guests. Milk was the obvious drink of choice. I wanted to make sure everything was cohesive. The color scheme was brown and blues. The focal point was the dessert table that the cookies and main cake was featured on . That area I wanted to be primarily brown with the idea that as you grazed on cookies galore the color scheme would then carry you to the kitchen island where blue as well as Cookie Monster become the focus. To tie the areas together I had Cookie Monster footprints leading the way. All things are blue in the monsters world even the blue “monster milk” and blue cookies served there. Lastly, for the favor table there were two choices of favors. Since the party was family oriented we had many adult guests. Cookies in a jar mixes served as the adult favors and take home cookie monster boxes were for the children to bag up their favorite cookies from the party. We had a wonderful party. We
had a smiling one year old the entire time that eventually was blue from head to toe. It was everything a first birthday party should be with the main ingredient being lots of love from a family that adores him. Lots of cookies didn’t hurt either :).”

The centerpieces were a collection of items from Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, thrift stores, antique shops, and things they already owned. For the seating, they went with hay bales to play off the country theme.
They made the napkins with a variety of patterned fabrics and tied heart-shaped cookie cutters around them with twine.
Congratulations on being the winning party feature today!
{Update: Drink Dispensers are from Pottery Barn here.}
For favors they filled milk bottles {from Pottery Barn I believe..however, they are no longer available. BUT, you can find some on eBay! Go here} with layers of ingredients for chocolate chip oatmeal cookies & had them stacked in a lovely wooden crate.
For the guestbook table they made a sign with Josh and Ellen’s “recipe for love” detailing the highlights of how they got together in recipe form. They had cards for guest to write their own “recipes for love” and a recipe fox for them to file it away in!
