Vintage Race Car Themed Birthday Party

This fabulous VINTAGE RACE CAR BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Maureen Anders of Anders Ruff Custom Designs! I just love all the amazing ideas found throughout this darling themed celebration!

Here is what Maureen had to say about planning the party- “I tend to design more for boys (probably because I am surrounded by 3 (well, 4 if you count our dog) at home). When Yolanda and Kate of Kiss Me Kate presented their story board and inspiration for their latest theme, it was game on. Presenting the Vintage Race Car theme…..

The invitation needs to set the tone, of course! This vintage style invitation represents an old style ticket that is the perfect way to send an invitation.

The dessert table is stunning and wait until you see the details! I love the centerpieces being the trophy shaped apothecary jars. We designed printable “1st, 2nd, 3rd place” logos that they used as prize ribbon decor on the jars. SO CUTE! I also love the vintage gas pump prop and the vintage racing oil cans as part of the decor – brilliant! Yolanda is an ace at sourcing the most amazing props for their events. Can you even believe the helmet cake pops!? What about the road speedsters? SO creative. Another creative touch is the “Gravel Pit”. Rock shaped chocolates PERFECT for this race car party theme. Kate’s desserts are perfect…. check out the finish flag cookie pops! I LOVE how they added the printable party flag to the back of the roadsters. Oh, and the CAKE…. Could you die!? The arrows going around the cake are COOKIE pops… the simplicity but CREATIVE detail that went into this cake shows the true talent of these ladies from Kiss Me Kate!

You can see our new Vintage Race Car printables throughout the party table. The party sign displayed as well as the party logos used as cupcake toppers. The printable banner strung on a white backdrop adds a striking focal point to the table. A printable drink wrap also adds interest to a party staple – water! The Vintage Race Car Printable invitation and coordinating collection is now available in the Anders Ruff shop!”

Race Car 1st Birthday Party

I just love the creativity that went into this RACE CAR 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jaclyn Douma of Sugar N Spice. This party is any little car lovers dream!

This is what Jaclyn had to say about the party- “We just celebrated my son’s first birthday and both my husband and I are huge racing fans so it only seemed fitting for the theme to be race cars! Decorating and crafting is a huge passion of mine as is cooking and hosting parties, so the entire process was such a pleasure for me. My brother who is an exercise/hiking fanatic told me I may have overdone it (which I disagree) so when I replied with, ‘This is a passion of mine, so just imagine, the hours that went into decorating as one big long HIKE’! He said he had never thought of it that way in which he then replied with ‘Job well done sis!’ All of the decorations, food and photography were done by me and my company Sugar N Spice. The only exception is the chocolate covered pretzels from Chaparral Homemade Ice Cream.

Included in the party was the “autograph” station where I had a white t-shirt for everyone to sign, along with a scrapbook I made of my son’s first year. Next was “The Garage” which was a popcorn favor bar filled with “Dipsticks” – Chocolate Covered Pretzels, “Nuts & Bolts” – Peanuts, Orange Slices & M&M’s, & “Spare Tires” – Chocolate Mini Donuts. Followed by The Garage was “Pit Row” where we served all of our food and my husband BBQ’d in “The Infield” where we set up our Family Flag, ice chests and chairs. Finally was “The Winner’s Circle” where I displayed my son’s birthday present which was a remote control car along with all the cupcakes for the guests. Everyone had a great time, including the kiddos as they raced up and down the “road” through our living room that I made from black vinyl table cloths. I’m already looking forward to planning next years party!”

‘Route 3′ Red Car 3rd Birthday Party

What little boy doesn’t love playing with cars? This adorable “ROUTE 3” RED CAR 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Katie Malandrino of Green Apple Paperie. I love how Katie decorated the party from head to toe in red car themed items. I’m sure the ‘fast lane’ punch and spare tire cookies were a hit. Everything is oh so cute! Katie said– “This party was for my son, Luca, who turned three back in September. I went with a simple car theme but wanted to incorporate his age into the theme in a creative way. So the idea of the Route 66 signs came to mind. I used his age inside the route sign for the cake topper, cake pops flags and the cookies as well. The cookies were done by A Dozen Eggs Bake Shoppe in Vermont. They went above and beyond in creating custom cookies for me. I ordered them right after Vermont got hit with a major storm that caused tremendous flooding and damage around their bakery. I was very impressed that they were able to still send out my order despite the conditions of their area. Great customer service! I made a table runner to look like a street and placed painted wooden cars on the runner to add some fun to the dessert table. My sister-in-law crafted the birthday cake.” Credits: Photography – Caryn Scanlan Cookies- A Dozen Eggs Bake Shoppe Printables- Green Apple Paperie
