Here’s what Benny had to say about photographing the party- “Kids grow up so quickly, especially when it comes to this little fellow. A year ago, I was asked by Ruth to photograph her newborn son, Edrei. So, when I was asked to be the photographer at his 1st Birthday party, I couldn’t believe a year had flown by! It was a very fun and exciting party, even as an adult, I must admit I had fun myself! The details and decorations for this party were amazing! Everything was so colorful and vivid! The farm theme for this party was perfect, especially since the party was located… well, at an actual barn. Everything tied so perfectly together and I’m sure this party is one the children will never forget. Ruth is an amazing party planner who most definitely will not disappoint!”

Little Farm 2nd Birthday Party

This cute LITTLE FARM SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Susan Macieira from Brazil! All the little barnyard themed treats are so darling!

Susan said this about planning the party- “I prepared this party to celebrate my son’s second birthday. I tried to mix traditional Brazilian farms and common things on my table, such as compote sweets and cheese making. I had the help of incredible vendors with particular techniques such as the modeling sweets like the bird in the cage. Totally edible.”

Cow Themed 2nd Birthday Party

This darling COW THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Rosalie Echavarria-Alonso. Such a fun twist on the classic farm themed party! Everything is so cute.

This is what Rosalie had to say about the party- “My daughter loves animals, especially cows. So as I started to plan her birthday party I said to myself, “Ahh she loves the farm and the cow, it’d be a great theme for her 2nd birthday party!” I then found this great white tent on Key Biscayne in Miami, Florida and totally felt in love with it, so I decided to host a cow-themed party there. The park was lovely, because it not only had a boundless playground for the children to play, but it also had a child-sized train and an antique carousel. I had the birthday invitation designed by Lollipop Prints. The design was based on a farm theme, emphasizing cows.  I then had my daughter’s outfit designed with cow spots, gingham, and red bows. It was made by Zamakerr Clothing Co and turned out so lovely and pretty. I also had a lady who hand painted my daughter’s shoes with cows – JL Perillo. I bought fabric with cow spots from Joann Fabrics and had a seamstress design a skirt for me. I’ll never forget the day I bought about 3 hay bales to decorate the party from a local store here in Miami by the name of “Sunset Farms”. The party was full of details and friends and family helped us to put it all together. When our guests arrived, the first thing they saw was a sign a friend of mine designed that said “Welcome to Brielle’s Moo-Day”. The boys and girls were greeted and handed blue cowboy hats for the boys and red cowboy hats for the girls. The tables were decorated with Sun Flowers inside of Mason Jars. All the tables had silver buckets full of peanuts for people to enjoy. The wonderful cow cookies and the cake were designed by Jeka’s Creations. The party included fun decorations from Oriental Trading such as gingham table covers, silver buckets, a cow piñata, cowboy hats for girls and boys. The children were given animal cookies boxes as another favor, which I bought at the Dollar Tree and decorated with favor tags designed by Forever Your Prints. The delicious cupcakes were made by some friends, and the cupcake tags were designed by Dolce Drive. The Mason Jars for the beautiful Sunflowers centerpieces were bought from Michael’s. I found my cow print heels from a store online named Shiek Shoes. The goody bags with cow prints for the piñata, the napkins and the cups were bought online from Cow Depot. A friend of mine let me borrow some cows and farm toys her children had and I put those as decoration on top of the hay bales. All the professional photography was taken by the very talented Juan Peña. This was a truly cute farm celebration with lots of cow print details, gingham, sunflowers, peanuts, lots of fun, and lots of candy. I’m sure no one will ever forget Brielle’s Moo-velous 2nd Birthday Celebration. But the most important thing of all was the fun my daughter had, and how she was able to spend her Moo-velous day surrounded by people who love her!” Vendors and Credits: Venue- Key Biscayne in Miami, Florida Invitations- Lollipop Prints Cookies and Cake- Jeka’s Creations Birthday Outfit- Zamakerr Clothing Co Cow Shoes- JL Perillo Favor Tags- Forever Your Prints Cupcake Tags- Dolce Drive Photography- Juan Peña

On the Farm 1st Birthday Party

this is a farm barnyard birthday party i did for my son’s first birthday last year. it was A LOT of fun! i had a blast planning it. you know me, i just love details!

here’s the two invites i used {below}. all the details are erased or blurred…this other one was purchased at pottery barn kids. the barn opened to a cow that had all the party info written on it. you could definitely make your own that would be just as cute!
oh, & i also stuck straw in the envelopes with the invites to add a special ‘farm’ touch…the birthday banner was also purchased at pottery barn kids {their 2008 farm collection}. i got the plastic wagon wheels at a local party store and tied them all around the back yard. we borrowed bales of hay from a friend and had them along our 2 side fences…we put blankets and table cloths over some of the bales so our guests could sit on them…i bought cute little plaid overalls for the birthday boy & his brother to match the ‘farm’ theme…
here’s one of the kid tables. it consisted of cute cow placemats, cow plates, farm animal soap shapes {that i put on each plate for the kids to keep}, farm cups, and farm animal place cards :)…
i had everyone get behind this farm friends photo op {also pbk} as they arrived. i took their picture with our polaroid camera. everyone loved having the little keepsake to take home…this idea was my friend julies…she put drinks inside a wheelbarrow filled with ice. so cute…
we rented a pony, which was a huge hit! all the kids LOVED riding her. it was really easy for us..the place we rented her through did all the work {brought her, took the kids around for rides, etc}…
i bought the plastic barn doors from oriental trading. they were a great addition to the decor, and were very simple to hang…i ordered farm themed rubber duckies and put them in a red tub filled with water. i wrote a letter P on a few of them {p for prize} and let the kids pick out a duck. if they got the magic ‘p’ they got a prize {farm stamps, farm notebooks, farm boxes, or farm stencils}…
food, food, food! we had some really good grub. i labeled a lot of it to go along with the whole farm theme. the only thing i regret is that i forgot to take pictures of it all before it was eaten!
pigs in a blanket were labeled as ‘little piggies’… pretzel sticks were ‘hay’…i set out vegetables in organized rows for the birthday boy’s garden… buffalo wings for ‘chicken wings’ and chex mix for ‘chicken feed’…
and of course, you gotta’ have watermelon…the farm bean toss game…the cakes… i had a ton of fun making these animal cakes. i found a sheep cake online & fell in love with it. i changed some things & added my own personal touch. i couldn’t stop there though..i decided to try and use the same shape and make a cow and pig as well!
for the sheep i used chocolate and vanilla frosting..marshmallows, coco puffs, junior mints {for the eyes}, a malt ball {nose}, and string licorice for the mouth…for the cow i used chocolate flavored skittles {they come in cream & browns}, red gummy fruit slices {for the ears}, malt balls, and string licorice.
the cute table runner you can see in the background is also pbk. i found black and white cow sprinkles that i threw all over for confetti!…i used pink frosting, pink malt balls, pink snowballs, pink necco’s, junior mints, & m&m’s for the pig. oh, and she did have a tail {string licorice tied in a not} but some little one got to it before this pic was taken :)…i ordered farm party hats online that i passed out. all the kids looked so cute it ‘em! :)…the cute farm cups and dishes are from pbk {most of them, i did find some plates at a craft store}.i bought a bunch of cow tails to put in some of the cups :). i also ordered candy bar thank-you wrappers that said, thanks for coming to gavin’s 1st birthday party etc. i wrapped them around some hershey bars…
here’s some of the party favors/prizes i was talking about earlier…and last but not least, cow print balloon’s and LOVED ONE’S tied it all together :)…oh, and here’s the thank you cards i sent out a few weeks later…
