Mad Hatter 7th Birthday Tea Party

How amazing is this MAD HATTER 7TH BIRTHDAY TEA PARTY submitted by Elise Butler of
Sweet Scarlet Designs! Oh, the details! I hope you enjoy…and gain a lot of great ideas!
Elise said- “This was the Mad Hatter Tea Party I designed for my daughter’s 7th birthday. After being rained-out and then postponed, the party finally went ahead. Although I had plans for it being a beautiful garden party, it had to be held under cover as the ground was too wet and mushy. But, we got there in the end and a lovely time was had by all.
The design I had in mind was a very modern interpretation of the Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter theme. I contrasted a modern Chevron pattern with vintage silverware pieces like the candelabra, and silver teapots and decanters. The beautiful gold tea set really made the whole table ‘pop’ and I was so lucky I found bits and pieces of this set at flea markets and on eBay to put together.
The party itself was a lot of fun with ‘old school’ activities and games like sack races, pass-the-parcel, horse rides, a photo booth (with printable Alice in Wonderland props) and croquet! Yes, I even found a croquet set on eBay! All the guests received coordinating ribbon wands, which I made, trimmed with name tags, which come as an editable PDF file in this printable set.
Food included vanilla cupcakes, layered jellies, teapot and teacup cookies, assorted candies, lollipops, cake pops and ice cream – which I made myself (apart from the ice cream!).
I hope you enjoy this party as much as I enjoyed putting it together! This printable set is now available in the Sweet Scarlet Designs Etsy shop.”

Here is what Robyn had to say about the party- “This was a whimsical Mad Hatter Birthday party for 6-8 year olds. Each guest arrived and received a custom designed hat for the tea party after walking down the rabbit hole. The other favor the guests took home was tea.”

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

This precious ALICE IN WONDERLAND TEA PARTY was submitted by Sharon Chase of Princess Sharon Events. Such an inspiring party and story…. Sharon and her team created this party for eighteen little girls who were being treated for cancer. What beautiful little sweethearts! I’m sure you touched their hearts forever, Sharon! Sharon said– “This party was very special to me. We created this Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter tea party for 18 little girls who were being treated for cancer. We sometimes work with The Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber Cancer institute in Boston, to give these little girls a day of magic, away from their regular pokes and prods and uncomfortable and often painful hospital visits. Also VERY importantly, I wanted to let the parents of these children experience the joy of seeing their babies having FUN! Singing, dancing, twirling, giggling, laughing, something that they don’t get to experience with these girls day to day during treatment. I loved the colors and the activities at this party.  We had musical story time, beading, elaborate dessert tables with designer monogrammed Oreos, tea pot cookies, pastries, and an ice cream buffet with drippy toppings. There were mismatched tea cups with, yes, saucers on TOP! Also sherbet-colored tutus, tiny tea cup and flower headdresses, and giant jeweled flower wands! I did sparkly face painting and had paper goods created to match the theme with “eat me” and “drink me” tags with satin ribbon and deep purple feather plumes with jewels for place cards. We dressed the tables in matching linens, whimsically colored sashes as well as gorgeous flamingo and tea cup towers adorning the tables. We also, of course, had yummy, fluffy pillows scattered on the floor for cozy seating for the musical story time. I played the Queen of Hearts (friends and relatives and volunteers also dressed up as all of the different characters!) The topsy-turvy cake had written on it words of inspiration like “love”, “hope”, and “strength.” We had magic dust necklaces and shiny purple and lime green tea cup favors filled with treats. What a treat to see all of the faces in the room light up! I can’t wait to do it again” Vendors and Credits: Printables- Tickled Plum Chocolate Covered Oreos- Sweeties by Kim Cookies- Firefly Confections Cake- Amanda Oakleaf Cakes Photography- Sarah Phillips Photography

We’ve been super busy over here at Kara’s Party Ideas getting all the book shoots wrapped up and finished. The final parties for the book are being photographed in the next two weeks! I am beyond ecstatic for it all to come together! It’s been a TON of work, and will definitely continue to be…but it has been so much fun and a dream come true.
