Here’s what Renee said about the party- “This birthday party was for Nina’s daughter Lola’s 6th Birthday. This Vintage Candy Shoppe theme that was set up at a children’s party venue called Gumbellina’s in Sydney, NSW. It featured jars and jars of sweet candy and other sweet treats. Lola’s two tier cake was inspired by her favourite sherbet sticks in the colours that became the theme for the party – Herbert lemon, pink and orange. The cake was layers of caramel cake with delicious white chocolate frosting. The table also included berry and passionfruit macarons, colour dipped marshmallows, candy and lollipop cookies, cake pops, strawberry sundae and bubblegum cupcakes, and of course loads of sweet candy! The venue was decorated with small vases of delicate baby’s breath and “candy” bouncy balls wrapped in crepe paper. A very sweet party for a very sweet little girl.”

Apple of My Eye 6th Birthday Party

This unique APPLE OF MY EYE SIXTH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Jenny Raulli of Bloom Designs.

I love how creative this party theme is! It’s also fun to see an apple party that doesn’t relate to fall. It’s fresh, girly, and looks like it was so much fun! Some of my favorite things about this apple party are:
The pie making, paper mache, and bead necklace activity stations
The ice cream scoops served in nut cups and topped with sprinkles and a wooden spoon to resemble apples
The apple shaped cake pops
and MORE!

This is what Jenny said about planning the party- “I created this ‘apple of our eye’ party for my daughter, Charlotte’s, sixth birthday. I didn’t want the party to feel like a harvest so I incorporated crisp, modern printables and a preppy bright pink and apple green color scheme.

I wanted the focal point of the party to be an apple stand where the desserts would be displayed. I found a tutorial on how to make one on the blog, Lil Luna and decided to build it. I had the wood cut to size when I purchased it, so I basically just had to screw it together. My 10 year old daughter and her friend made the bunting for me using different hot pink and white fabrics. I had a local print shop cut a vinyl decal for the lettering. The farm stand and crates used for display were painted to match the pink on the invitation. I turned hot pink paper lanterns into apples and lined the edge of the yard with them.

When the little guests arrived for lunch, they untied their apple baskets from the backs of their chairs and dined on applewiches, harvest chips, mac ‘n cheese, apple sauce and of course a crisp green apple. They sipped on apple juice and lemonade served in glass jars. Each girl had an apple of our eye gumball tube at her place setting. To make the place mats, I simply made a document on word and then had it enlarged on thick glossy cardstock at my local printer shop.

After lunch, the girls put on ‘apple of my eye’ make up, made paper mache apples using left over fabric from the bunting and made apple necklaces. They also made their own mini apple pies in mason jars that we called, Charlie Pies- my daughter’s nickname.

The girls treated themselves at the farm stand, which was filled with apple cake pops, apple cupcakes, Apple Jacks, and candy apples. There was also ice cream scooped into candy cups and shaped to look like apples complete with a wooden ‘stem’ (spoon). They also loved the M&M ‘apples’ served in baking cups as well.

Party favors were ‘apple of my eye’ t-shirts.”

Wicked {the musical} 6th Birthday Party

This amazing WICKED {THE MUSICAL} SIXTH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Melanie of Melanie Monroe Photography. What a fun and creative way to capture the spirit of the musical and celebrate the birthday of twin girls!

Here are some of the elements I love most in this Wicked themed party:
The painted cardboard life size castle
The pink “Glinda” cupcakes and black / green “Elphaba” cupcakes
The witch broom pens in the favor pails
The “Emerald City Dress-Up Boutique” overflowing with green apparel for the guests to wear
and MORE!

This is what Melanie said about planning the party- “My twin girls turned six a few weeks ago and I can’t believe how time flies! This year they wanted a “Wicked” (the musical) birthday party and I was happy to comply. This party was so much fun to plan! I started a pinterest board for the party MONTHS ago and got lots of great ideas. During Halloween time, I was able to get some great witch decorations and I was able to snag some fun green items for the “Emerald City Dress Up Boutique” when all the St. Patrick’s Day items came out right after Christmas. This was a karaoke party, so we had some great singing and dancing going on, as well as the “Flying Monkey Zipline” and the “Madame Morrible Tornado Ride.” We had lots of green snacks and drinks (even green ice cubes in the punch!) as well as Glinda and Elphaba cupcakes with witch hats and princess crowns. For favors we gave out a small “Anti-witch water bucket” filled with pink and green lollipops, pink Glinda bubbles, green Emerald City sunglasses, and a Defying Gravity broomstick pen. Thank you to all the friends and family that joined us to make my girls’ 6th birthday extra special! We had a wicked good time!”

Harry Potter Wizard Themed 6th Birthday Party

This fabulous HARRY POTTER WIZARD THEMED SIXTH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Rachel Johnson of Creative Little Stars. For those of you who are looking for great Harry Potter party ideas, look no further than this party! Rachel did a wonderful job!

Rachel said this about planning the party- “We had so much fun creating this 6th birthday Wizard party. The venue we chose was the local park, which was surrounded by owl pictures and figurines. The party was complete with a specially erected spell room of which birthday Wizard Ryan had exclusive access to practice his wizardry powers!

The party guests sat down to a super-natural feast prepared by Ryan’s Grandma. The menu included jelly brains, and was topped off by a deathly delicious Grave Yard Cake. Harry Potter music filled the ears of Ryan’s 20 friends, which really added to the ambiance of the day. Ryan’s Mum ensured the scene was set by providing a smoke machine, making the children feel like they were at Hogwarts and also dressing up like a witch. Mosman party Hire supplied a handful of the children’s costumes to make sure they really got into character.

We added further finishing touches by including printable stationery and a printable Wizard Game collection, available on our website.”
