Party description and full vendor list at bottom of post…
Thais said this about planning the party- ”This party was designed by Meemo, my party accessories business that is established both in Brazil and Macau, China. My friend and partner Cassia and I decided to create Meemo when we realized we couldn’t find pretty partyware for our kids’ birthday parties. How come we can’t find good stuff for retail in China, where practically everything is produced and exported to the world???!??
After 7 years living in Macau, I moved back to Brazil in December 2011 so I was very excited to celebrate my daughter Sofia’s first birthday party here, among family and friends. Sofia’s passion for everything sweet inspired me to create this Ice Cream Shoppe to celebrate her 3rd birthday. Every detail, from the party colors to the catering and sweets table was carefully thought of and planned months in advance with lots of love. Sofia’s taste and opinion was my main guide :-)!!
The party decor was all handmade in mint green and berry pink colors (thinking about ice cream!) and chevron prints. I really wanted the decor to give away a vintage atmosphere, so the canopy over the desserts table and the pink and white tiled floor were just perfect to complete the look.
The flower centerpieces with white carnations and lisianthus were my favorites, and the vintage paper straws with the flags I designed gave just the final touch.
The ice cream cake pops, made of carrot cake and Nutella, were the highlight of the dessert table. After searching different suppliers, I found Letícia Villela from Anis Doçaria, explained what I wanted and she worked her magic. She also made the chocolate “popsicles”, the birthday cake (a heavenly mix of yogurt and berries), the traditional Brazilian “brigadeiros” and “2 amores” that had an ice cream shape.
The catering was thought for the kids with all the treats they like the most, from hot dog, to popcorn and cheese bread cones finalizing with mini sandwiches for the adults. All the little ones (and many “big ones” too!!) loved the milk shake cups. In chocolate and strawberry flavors, they were not just cute but especially delicious. I was very lucky and happy about the wait staff, which was so gentle and smiling all the time. For them I designed some ice cream printed aprons that I had tailor-made just for the party.
My main goal was that Sofia would be happy with her party and enjoyed it with her friends, so the recreation was a main attraction. Music and storytelling kept the children entertained while they were not “attacking” the ice cream station or having fun outdoors on the swing or playing with the lovely polka dot balloons. The face painting and nail bar were the girls’ favorites, of course.
As party favors, I personalized some Chinese carton boxes filled with sweets and an ice cream magnet. The kids also got personalized ice cream bubbles, but this favor didn’t make it to their homes they were just what they needed to top up the fun at the end of the party!!”

This adorable PLAY DOH THEMED THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Katelyn Meekel of Events by Kate! WHAT a darling party theme, don’t you think?! So original and FUN! Any child would just love to attend a party like this. So many unique and adorable ideas here…
Katelyn said this about planning the birthday party- “My favorite childhood pastime was when I would go to my grandma’s house and she would have just whipped up a new batch of homemade play dough. She had everything from cookie cutters, farm animals, and tons of cool gadgets to shape and play and make new creations! It was no surprise that when I was sorting through some childhood toys (Just over a year ago) I came across some of these items that my grandma had saved for me, naturally I decided that in one year I would have a play dough party for my 3 year old son Riley!
Décor: The backdrop and printables and concept were all bright fun colors, customized with my son’s name! I had colored balloons, a fun orange backdrop behind his cool custom poster! We had an art easel, and cool party hats! I made 10 pounds of different colored play dough for the event as well (With a secret recipe for everyone to take home). Traditional rolling pins were given as party favors!
Food: The giant cake in the middle of the table (Yes that is a cake!) was designed by my all-time favorite cake artists “Sweet Spot Cupcakes”! This was really the centerpiece that made the party! We had some cutesy finger foods, sprinkled doughnuts and cookies, as well as 6 different colored Jello push up pops! I also put out adorable little gum ball machines filled with multi colored skittles (A little taste of the rainbow)!
My son was really blessed to have his loved ones with him to celebrate his third birthday! He had such an amazing day, with tons of new (Play dough) themed toys to keep him occupied for the next year, I am loving the fact that amongst all the chaos of the day, I was able to relax and actually spend time with my little boy, and play in the dough.”

This incredibly cute FRIENDLY MONSTER BASH THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Rachel Scott of RV Parties! I’m dying at all the adorable details! Everything just screams perfection! WHAT a darling party with so many fabulous ideas!
Rachel said this about planning the party- “This 3rd birthday party was monstrously-fun to style! Our “little monster” birthday boy is energetic and happy so our monsters had to be too! From the bright and happy monster decorations to the coloring wall–it certainly was a party tailored for toddlers that was cheerful and fun!
Kiddos snacked on one-eyed monster cruffle pops, bright sprinkled chocolate covered pretzels, cupcakes and a three-tiered cake by Got What It Cakes–specially customized in the party’s theme and adorned with fondant monsters. The birthday boy ate his confections on a custom printed plate by RV Parties in the monster party pattern.
Coordinating fabric was printed in the party design and used to make a number “3″ birthday shirt and runners for the tables. Monster silhouettes popped up throughout the party–as confetti on the table, framed pictures on the wall and garland in the doorways. Googly eyes were a quick and easy way to bring additional elements into the party theme — and they’re so fun, who could resist putting them on everything!?
Our favorite part was the large-scale wall decor. The backdrop for the dessert table was a 3′x4′ vinyl banner which now decorates the birthday boy’s room! All the little monsters loved grabbing washable crayons from the coloring table to doodle on the coloring walls.
Favors included monsters knitted with hand dyed yarn, gumballs and a jar of coordinating jelly beans–as well as a family picture in the monster photo booth. And we loved the other elements brightening the favor table–a yarn wrapped H and a cute monster gumball machine!”

Who doesn’t love the classic Snow White? This darling SNOW WHITE THEMED THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Susana and Clara of Dulcesobremesa.
Susana and Clara said this about planning the party- “Mirror, mirror on the wall …Who is turning three?” (In Spanish, “Espejito, espejito…¿quién cumple tres añitos?”) We created this mini snack table for a girl’s third birthday party that took place at the preschool her mom owns. We used some elements of her favorite nursery tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to style the table. Instead of using the classic red, blue an yellow colors we used a light coral and aquamarine color palette with some touches of sunglow yellow and beige to give it a softer look. Included on the table were bacon and onion bite size quiches, ham and cheese brioches, nutella cupcakes, mini dulce de leche cupcakes and oreo cake. We designed absolutely everything and, as always, all the paper decorations were handmade by us.”
