This modern CAR THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Melissa of The Cake Boutique.
Some of my favorite ideas in this car themed party are:
The popcorn served in cupcake liners since smaller portions were needed
The black favor bags made to resemble a road
The fruit kebabs threaded onto plastic straws- a safer option for little guests
and MORE!
This is what Melissa said about planning the party- “My son, Finley, turned two and we threw him a car themed party (his two favourite words are Cake and Car), styled around his birthday gift, a red ride-on retro tin car. We wanted it to be bright and clean, so stuck to a red colour palette with accents of blue. Grey chevrons provided a fun geometric backdrop which we repeated in the cake design. The gorgeous paperie was custom made to incorporate the theme. Guests enjoyed a variety of motor themed sweets and treats, including vanilla bean cupcakes, Mint Chocolate marshmallow tires, Jelly Fuel, Nuts and Bolts popcorn, Road sign chocolates and custom made Belgian chocolate cars.
The conservatory was converted into a mini race track with toy cars and ride-on vehicles for the kids to play with and the ceiling was strung with giant balloons in the main party colours.
The tiny guests were given a custom made Road party bag filled with toy cars, car shaped chocolates and a car bath squirter.”

This dazzling THOMAS THE TRAIN THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Christie of Flaired Affairs.
Some of my favorite elements & party ideas in this Thomas the Train celebration are:
The banner made by hanging train conductor hats with clothespins
The cardboard fry boxes filled with popcorn and cotton candy
This is what Christie said about planning the party- “The birthday boy, John, is smitten with trains so it was a no brainer for his party theme. It was a day filled with friends, family, sunshine and trains! The colors selected were reflective of the invitations created by Paige Simple. The rest of the party printables were created by Paper & Cake.
Outside of the Dessert Table filled with cupcakes, cookies and candies, guests were invited to a food table of sub sammies, pasta dishes, antipasta, chips/dip and other finger foods. Traditional Birthday Cake in the favorite flavor of the birthday boy – Red Velvet – was served! Yum!!
The little guests were able to ride a train all around the neighborhood! And when they were done they jumped in the bouncy house the rest of the afternoon making for weary little engineers for the ride home but not before they stopped by the Baggage Claim to pick up their engineer hats and scarves, boxes of crayons, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and train whistles.”

This fun CANDY LAND THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Chakoda of Chakoda Designs.
A few of my favorite party ideas in this candy land party are:
The tumbling mats used for the rainbow path
The tufted Queen Anne chair holding the paper crowns
The large plastic ice cream cones
and MORE!
This is what Chakoda said about planning the party- “Candy turns 2! So fun & Sweetly Colorful. Wanted to create it as close to the game as possible. All the rentals & props were from
www.chakodadesign.com. They were life size pieces & most importantly kid friendly. Guests loved it! Even non-guests stopped by to take a closer look!”

This adorable ARIEL + UNDER THE SEA SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Joanne of Cakes by Joanne Charmand.
This Ariel under the sea party is so beautiful! A few of my favorite elements are:
The stunning mermaid fondant cake
The clamshell shaped cookies
The simple but effective use of paper fringe for an ocean backdrop
and MORE!
This is what Joanne said about planning the party- “This setup was for my gorgeous niece’s 2nd birthday. She loves Ariel and loves the water! The party was actually at the pool so it was a challenge setting up the buffet as we could not use any glass. I made all the cupcake wrappers simply by getting the different shades of glittery paper from Lincraft. The beautiful photo on the ocean backdrop was taken The White Room Photography.”
This charming MILK & COOKIES SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Elizabeth Sprague of Lemonberry Moon.
I love the creativity of this cookies and milk party! There are so many fabulous (and delicious looking) elements & ideas here. A few of my favorites are:
This is what Elizabeth said about the party- “The hardest part about this party was not eating it all before I photographed it! Forever Your Prints‘ label set was the perfect starting point for the table design. Chocolate chip cookies, whoopie pies and peanut butter blossoms (all featured in the labels) were baked and displayed throughout the table. My favorite treat had to be the three layer cookie bars though, check out how I took them even further here. I also made white chocolate “milk mustaches” to put next to the milk buffet offering up chocolate, strawberry and white milk.
Cupcakes were chocolate and topped with a cookie dough frosting and a homemade chocolate chip cookie. Dipped Oreos were topped with adorable fondant toppers from Rachel at Fondant Flinger right down to the “Yum”on the Oreo! The amazing decorated cookies were provided by Katie’s Creative Baking and tasted just as delicious as they look!
