Shannon said this about planning the party- ”I figured at age 2, this would be the last year I could call the shots on my son’s birthday party theme. Even though he’s growing up so fast, I knew I wanted a sweet theme that was still a bit babyish. His first and favorite song has been Twinkle Twinkle Little Star so I knew that was the way to go.

I convinced a friend to save her old windows for me for the backdrop, which I backed with a navy shower curtain and tiny twinkle lights. I whipped up some puffy white clouds to hang above it using felt and batting. Then I went crazy with the desserts. From the gold glittered cake pops to the shooting star sugar cookies to the pineapple stars, everything was homemade. I added a bit of gold washi tape to all of my white serving pieces to tie it together a bit as well.

Since I went crazy with the dessert table, I cut myself some slack and ordered pizza. But not before a Star Bar was born! I filled glass bottles with tea & lemonade and covered anything that stood still with those little gold teacher’s star stickers. Some homemade constellation embroidery told everyone about it!”

Ball Themed 2nd Birthday Party

How fun is this BALL THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Cindi Landers! Such a cute theme, and SO perfect for a toddler!! I just love all the ideas here.

Cindi said this about planning the party- “Balls are all the rage for my son, so I ran with that as the theme for his birthday party. I spent hours and hours coordinating the decor and food. The idea of the backdrop was borrowed from a “Go Bananas” party featured on KPI. All of the decor was put together using craft supplies from several local stores by me including the banner, cupcake wrappers and tags that say two, Happy Birthday Parker, etc., but I have to give credit to Swanky Press for the invitations and a local bakery called Mary’s Cakes and Pastries for the cookies. Clipart used for the party tags was purchased via Etsy from BaBaPuffBaby. I put them in Photoshop and designed the tags myself, then had them printed at a local printing company.”

Cookies- Mary’s Cakes and Pastries

Horse Themed 2nd Birthday Party

This beautiful HORSE THEMED 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Manda McGrath of Once Upon My Life. There are so many precious details and ideas here!

Manda said this about planning the party- “My sweet niece, Fabienne Joy, turned two last month. My sister thought a horse theme party would be perfect since Fabienne loves horses. Their family moved into a beautiful farm house in the country, and right across the street – horses! Ever since the move and daily walks past their new ‘neigh’bors {couldn’t resist!} – Fabs has been smitten. My sister and brother-in-law also have a great old barn that was perfect for hosting the party in. We had so much fun planning and throwing this party.

The lace doily & burlap bunting and scrap fabric bunting were made by Caitlin. The happy birthday banner was one I had made a couple of years ago and we reuse at our parties. My husband made the scoop we used in the caramel popcorn. The paper straws were found at Target. We wrapped assorted glass jars with lace and twine and put tea lights in them. My little sister made the painted horse banner and mailed it from California for us to use at the party. We also made pony print dresses and a skirt using the tutorial from A Beautiful Mess.”

Rockets and Robots 2nd Birthday Party

What a fabulous ROCKETS & ROBOTS + SPACE THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Louise Sanders of SunshineParties! I hope you gain a lot of inspiration and party ideas here!

Louise said this about planning the party- “Send your little boy shooting into the stars with this vintage-inspired Rockets and Robots space-themed party. We created this party theme for my little boy, Thomas – he was turning two!

For the Party Table decor we used mainly blue and orange. The decor consisted of honeycomb paper balls or “planets”, home-made rockets, spaceship and robot masks, rocket favors and of course the space rocket cake.

We created this space theme by using our designs from our latest Sunshine Parties printable set. All digital design elements can be printed on a home PC printer and handmade. This makes the party unique and still affordable and best of all it doesn’t take that long! With a little thought this party can look out of this world and your little boy will be over the moon! Excuse the pun!”
