This retro BATMAN THEMED THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Malu Mattos of Ateliê de Eventos.

According to Malu, the highlights of this fabulous Batman party are:
  • The fabric cake with the felt batman topper
  • The batman logo with the child’s name in the panel
  • The little paper bats hanging above the table
  • The ribbons tied around the cookies
  • and there are so many MORE!
Here’s what Malu said about planning the party- “This batman birthday party was for a 3 years old Brazilian boy. He loves batman! We produced the whole party and took care of all the decoration. His mom wanted to have a colourful party, not so black as Batman typically would be. So, we used a lot of royal blue and yellow too. She wanted to use retro tags, like pow! boom! bang! It looked very nice too!”

Superhero Birthday Party

This SUPERHERO BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Justine Worthington of Worthington Weddings and Events. I love how so much of this party is DIY but you would never know to look at it! It just shows how far guest participation, the right venue, and good photography can go to create an amazing and memorable party!

Here are some of my favorite elements of this superhero party:
The printable scraps mod-podged onto the wooden fork handles
The ‘POP’ labels stuck to the side of pop cans… genius!
The printable snack cones
The super-kids lineup, complete with masks and capes
The Duct Tape dumbbells
and MORE!

This is what Justine said about planning the party- “My work as a wedding coordinator typically includes roses and lace, this event on the other hand was all about the ZAP! and POW! In the event planning industry, I get to meet oodles of talented colleagues and this Super Hero Birthday party happened to be in honor of photographer Molly Dues’ two sons, Clark(4) and Issac(7). Molly was a blast to work for, she’s bubbly and full of fun. She wanted the party to be held in the Molly Dues Photography Studio, which, for a planner is a dream space for putting on a party.

On the menu we had “pigs in a cape” (corn dogs), “super nuggets” (chicken nuggets), “hero mix” (snack mix), and “POPcorn” (uhh…popcorn). For dessert, the kids would enjoy personalized hero cupcakes. Molly baked the cupcakes herself and even added little fondant capes to some! Each little hero was asked to come to the party in their special heroic get-up and masks were awaiting them at their seats. In the end, each guest would be given their mask to take home and a hero cup full of treasures especially made for those with super powers.

For entertainment, I researched and designed a few special little games. To get the party rolling we played ‘Pass the Kryptonite’. The tiny heroes all sat in a circle and while music played we passed ‘kryptonite’ (green glow sticks bundled together!). When the music stopped, the guest with the glow sticks was out (since kryptonite is bad for super powers, you know!) But there were no worries for these tykes, ‘getting out’ simply meant that it was time for them to jump up and grab a plate of munchies and find their seat at the table so they could rejuvenate their powers.

I also had a few other smaller games set out for the kids to enjoy and to exercise their super powers. The first was designed for the kids to guess what was in a brown paper bag by only using their super sense of touch. Some of the contents in the paper bags included matchbox cars, rice, and deflated balloons! The second challenge for the little heroes was to use their super eyesight and brain power to guess how many bouncing balls had been placed in a glass jar.

And finally, our last game included one that would let the kids use all of their super speed and might! They had to capture some villains of their own. Three very heroic parents stepped up to play the role of our villains and with that, the game was on. The kids were split into three teams and each team was given a color of crepe paper streamers. The first team to ‘tie up’ their villain with crepe paper would be the first to dive into the birthday cupcakes! Talk about motivation!

We maintained a very low and reasonable budget on the birthday party. I created many of the party props from scratch including the dumbbells, paper snack holders and the mod-podge letters. I recycled scraps from the supplies I bought and kept creating! For instance, I mod-podged the handle of the forks with leftover pintables and used items from around the office to fashion the guessing games. Kids’ parties are so fun that they are easily one of my favorite projects to tackle and enjoy.”

Superhero Birthday Party

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a SUPERHERO THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Karyn Amado of Sweet and Clever!

“This Superman inspired birthday celebration was for CJ who loves all things superheroes, most especially Superman.Instead of the Metropolis (home of Superman) I decided to make the San Francisco skyline as the backdrop. I made it using yellow foam board and black poster boards. I also handcrafted the comic book superhero action sounds cupcake topper.Sweet treats on the dessert table included chocolate cupcakes and cake pops. The cake was store bought and was decorated with printable toppers.”

Superhero Avengers Themed Birthday Party

How fun is this SUPERHERO AVENGERS BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Sandra of 3′s a Party {in Sydney, Australia}!

Here is what Sandra had to say about planning the party- “It’s a bird…It’s a plane…No its not.. Its a whole bunch of Superhero’s! Well what can we say?? The genius mind of Yassmine, from 3′s a Party has again outdone its stylistic self. Her amazing and talented ability in the area of imagination, takes people with her on a journey of the unknown. Here is what she said when I (Sandra) asked her what her inspiration was for this event:

‘All my Boys are loving superheros at the moment and I wanted to create a fun vintage inspired party for them. they chose the superheros they wanted to be, Spiderman, Ironman and the Hulk.
Li-Ann from Ham & Pea Paperie then took the inspiration from there and waved her magic wand and came up with the gorgeous invites, backdrop and printables to match. Jacki from Blissfully Sweet made the most amazing cake and sweets to compliment the invites and WOW what an amazing job she did. I had the privilege of working with some amazingly creative minds on this party as you can see, my ideas were brought to LIFE! The vibrant and almost lifelike images captured by Photography by Sandra helped to freeze some amazing moments for fantastic memories. The kids had a great time in the city life that was created with its own newsstand’.”

Girly Superhero 5th Birthday Party

How fun is this SUPERHERO 5TH BIRTHDAY PARTY for a GIRL?! Love it! The party was styled and submitted by Rebeca K of My Paper Lily.

Rebeca said- “MY daughter, Ava turned super FIVE this past March! I had asked her what kind of party she wanted this year, and to my surprise she yelled out, ” A SUPER HERO party!” It isn’t really considered a girly party, I guess, so princess crowns and fairy wings had to be erased from my mind. The challenge wasn’t too difficult, but gathering ideas was a little more like a treasure hunt. Like every superhero party, there had to be a London Phone Booth to change into their life-saving outfits! The Phone Booth became a secret hide-out or a place to escape from the bad guys. Who is saving who!? Haha. I got the box from Lowes. As soon as the children walked in through the door they were immediately presented with their Superhero capes, masks, and hair clips! I made the capes myself along with their belts, and arm cuffs. MUCH more CHEAPER! I am always on a budget, and I’ve probably mentioned this way too many times in my blog posts. Therefore, the dessert table was simple. All that was included were cupcakes ( I made), cookies, rice krispie treats ( I made), and Ava’s cake ( I made). For the sunburst backdrop, I used a second fridge box! I lined up painters tape (that blue tape) to help guide me with the sunburst lines. Then, I alternatively painted two types of Pink colors which I purchased at Walmart. It worked out great! For a while I had a hard time figuring out what I could use to create the Sunburst because I didn’t want to spend money on Fabric! This was so much cheaper, absolutely FREE – except the paint. The city was also made from left over cardboard boxes from our recent move. I cut it up to match her invitation. I wanted the parents to have some fun too! So, I made these Supermom and Superdad stickers to pass around. It generated quite the laugh! I’ll work on having them available soon. I hope you found some great ideas here if you have a daughter or son who wants a Superhero party!” Vendors and Credits:
