Spa Themed Birthday Party

This SPA THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Patricia Amarante Salvadego of Maria Serafina – Festas Delicadas.

This spa party is so fun because of its unique color palette (a diversion from the pink or lilac often used for girl parties) and because it has so many creative ideas! Some of my favorite elements are:
  • The stunningly intricate cake
  • The personalized bath robes and slippers
  • The cookies shaped like make-up and toiletries
  • and MORE!

This is what Kerri said about the party- “I have been doing yoga for about 6 months now and LOVE it. The instructor at the Yoga studio just started offering yoga parties so I, of course hadto host one! My daughter, Karlie loves doing the poses with me so I thought it would be fun to do a mother/daughter party with a small group of friends.

I am a freelance graphic designer (also design for an AWESOME frame company, Wild Sorbet Frame Company) so I designed all the party printables (available in my etsy shop, Big K, little k designs). I wanted to keep the food mostly healthy so I chose to do hummus cupcakes, trail mix, fruit, spinach dip, fruit water, and peach tea.

We started off by choosing toe rings (it’s a yoga thing-hehe) and then getting on our yoga mats. The instructor guided us through lots of poses that were kid friendly. Our daughters had so much fun getting to jump around and be silly. We then gave the daughters a foot massage and then they went to play while the mommie’s enjoyed a few minutes of quiet time and a foot massage from the instructor.

We then enjoyed our snacks and let the kids play while the mommies got in some gab time. Our instructor made the cutest treat bags where she shaped pipe cleaners into yoga poses.

It was such a fun party and it was great to have some mother, daughter time. Everyone had  a blast!”

‘Almost Sleepover’ Birthday Party

This adorable ALMOST SLEEPOVER BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Ellen Bessette of Ellen Bessette Events. I just love the fun sparkly and pink vibe the party gives. Any little girl- young, tween, or old would love to be at this celebration. Ellen said– “An almost sleepover party is where the girls come to the party in their PJ’s and pretend to have a slumber party and then return home around 9pm without sleeping over. Design Inspiration: My daughter saw a cake on One Charming Party and the party was centered around that design- pink, girly and bling! Activities: For a craft, we decorated door hangers with glitter glue and foamies and made pink/white crystal bracelets (supplies from Michael’s). We also had a beauty bar set up on a nightstand with nail polish, eye shadow, lip gloss, tiara’s and necklaces. The pillow fight was the most popular activity. And the girls danced to WII Dance Party 2. Project Tips: DIY centerpieces using Blumeboxes and party printables from Frog Prince Paperie. The dessert table was dressed up using the party printables. Food labels, cupcake wrappers to dress up plain cupcake wrappers, bottled water turned from ordinary to not so ordinary, snack boxes to dress up chocolate covered pretzels and green apple flavored popcorn and I made two more centerpieces to tie in the theme. Back drop for the dessert table was made using pomettes from PomFlair. Use props that you already have: I used the furniture straight out of my daughters’ rooms to really set the tone. Their beds were the tables, night stand was the beauty bar and their dresser was the dessert table. Also, I perked up the entrance to the party with pink feather wreaths on my front doors where I purchased Styrofoam wreaths from Michaels and wrapped a feather boa around it. Place cards can also double as the party favor. I had personalized pillowcases made for party favors and I rolled them up, tied a ribbon around it and put them on top of their place settings so the girls knew where to sit and then they had a fun take home party favor. Dress up plain chairs with tulle or ribbon. And tie your flatware with coordinating ribbon.” Vendors and Credits: Bedding- Target Party Printables- Frog Prince Paperie Pomettes- PomFlair Cake and cupcakes- Cut the Cake (Inspired by One Charming Party) Cotton candy & green apple flavored popcorn- Kernel Encore Personalized pillowcases- Preppy Penguin Flowers- Blumebox Party Styling and photography- Ellen Bessette Events

Night Owl Sleepover Birthday Party

I opened up the submission email for this party and fell in love! This NIGHT OWL SLEEPOVER 7TH BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Tash Kimlin of Whimsy Petite Styling is an absolute dream. Every single party element is just so darling. What a fun way for a girl to celebrate her 7th birthday!
Here is what Tash had to say about the party– “My daughter was super keen to have her first sleepover party to celebrate her 7th birthday…who was I to say no! I loved the idea and jumped at the challenge of creating a dreamy atmosphere for the girls to spend their day giggling, having fun and finally falling asleep in. Beautiful late summer weather meant our generously sized back deck was the perfect spot for the event…it next to the yard and cubby house and ideal for utilising the pool, making the most of the end of season warmth {not to mention a great plan for keeping 6 hyped up children out of the house}. Sharlize loves owls so naturally she decided on a night owl theme. I decided on a bright and fun colour palette of Fushia, orange and tiffany blue, and was really happy with the outcome.
The 6 girls enjoyed an afternoon of swimming, creating canvas art to take home, playing game, watching movies, having pillow fights and more. each of the guests had their own serving of fish and chips in little boxes for dinner then we watched movies and fell asleep out on the deck under the mosquito net {which proved funny when they kept waking up during the night to check if any owls or possoms had come to visit them}.
We really wanted to bless the girls as it was the first sleep over party any of them had been to, so, they each recieved a special sleepover suitcase filled with goodies including pj’s, toiletries, a diary, pencil, stickers, hair brush and a specially made owl so snuggle up with at bed time. The delight on their faces was priceless when they opened them, like they had opened a box full of treasure.”
