Ice Cream Themed 2nd Birthday Party

This ICE CREAM THEMED SECOND BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Leticia Badillo of Parttis in Mexico. Looking at this party, I feel like I’m in an actual ice cream shop. Every detail is just perfect!

Some of my favorite elements of this ice cream party are:
The cake pops made to look like ice cream scoops in a cone
The feminine touch of the pearls piped around the smashed ice cream cone cake
The ice cream shaped bubble party favors
The ice cream cart displaying the cake pops
and MORE!

This is what Leticia said about planning the party- “This was my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. She loves ice cream, so I thought that it would be a great theme for the party and she really loved it. I cannot describe the excitement I felt as she, at this age, thanked me for everything. She realized all the time and effort we spent on every single detail. She was surprised and excited as she saw the place transformed into an ice cream shop. I just can’t forget her little face at that moment. The thing I loved the most was the Styrofoam ice creams we made as centerpieces, they turned out great! People asked me where we bought them, but no, we created them!!  I’d like to give a big thank you to my mother, Leticia! She really helped me out with a lot of things in the party, including the centerpieces. We gave ice cream plates as favors and ice cream bubbles to the kids. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of the little bags everyone received.”

Cookies and Milk 1st Birthday Party for Twins

Up next on KPI is this absolutely adorable COOKIES & MILK FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY for twins, submitted by Kimberly of Designs by Kimberly Francom. I just love the vintage colors and rustic feel to this darling celebration! What a fun party theme for twins! Such a great theme for a baby shower, too!

Kimberly said this about planning the party- “Having boy/girl twins, I wanted to create a party that had touches of masculine and feminine to represent them both. I did this by adding small touches of ruffles, lace, fresh florals and coral and balanced them with burlap, neutral tones, and distressed crates. I sent out postcard invitations to the guests with custom stamps featuring the birthday twins of course. The feel of the party was a vintage and rustic chic spin on a Cookies and Milk Party. Most of the details of the party were done DIY. For my back drop I used a queen size sheet which we then sewed muslin ruffles to. I used a stencil, paint, and burlap to create the Happy Birthday and “One” banner and rag banner adorned the front of the burlap table cloth. I used crates and old books to add height and texture to the dessert display and decor. I created printable coral chevron and chocolate stripe flags for my retro striped straws. My milk bottles were actually the Target brand frappuccino. I stamped the number “1″ on little wood tags that I attached to my milk bottles with bakers twine. The cookies I chose were: Home-made Oreo pies, Coconut Macaroons, Sugar Cookie Pops, Chocolate Dipped Shortbread, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Kiss. Milk Bottles filled with Jelly Bellies served as vases for the sugar cookie pops. Guests filled cookies and candy in milk carton favor boxes with printable labels saying “So Sweet of You to Join Us”. Guests also decorated their own sugar cookies with frosting and assorted sprinkles at the Cookie Decorating Station. On the tables, soft and casual florals were displayed in milk bottles and mason jars over burlap and lace runners. Pictures of the twins were displayed in mason jars filled with taffy as well as on a vintage washboard. Colorful bunting and ombre tissue poms with tassels set the tone for the party in our back yard. On the outdoor food table I included a vintage crate lined with burlap with a chalk board sign “Place empties here for milk man” for the home of used milk bottles. A bouquet of taffy skewers was displayed in an old creamer can. I also made vases out of paint sticks glued to formula cans and then painted… So inexpensive! An old barrel becomes a table to hold my beverage container with coral and aqua water bottles. Two happy one year olds equals a very successful party!”

Barbie Ice Cream Shop 4th Birthday Party

This BARBIE ICE CREAM SHOP FOURTH BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Mariana Zago of Mariana Zago Party Design is absolutely adorable! What a fun twist on your regular ice cream party- add Barbie to the mix! Love it!

Mariana said this about planning the party- “When my client asked for a Barbie themed party for her 4 year old, she wanted me to do the same dessert table I had done a month ago for her best friend’s daughter. I felt that the little birthday girl deserved something completely original and custom made just for her! That’s why I had to come up with different Barbie themed alternatives. The theme she most liked was the “Barbie Ice Cream Shop”. I loved the opportunity to create a french-style shop, adding a Barbie glamourous look to it! Our chef, Riki Carolei, and I made and decorated all the sweets making them ice cream shaped. The party favors were these cute cupcake/ice-cream jars, filled with m&ms for the kids.”

Here is what Melissa had to say about planning the party- ”This past weekend was my twins’ 5th birthday party! They decided on an ice cream theme…as we started planning it kind of took on a “happy” theme too! We have been working on a few new illustrations, so we did a new one for this party {available here}.

We wanted the party to be playful, colorful and of course happy so we choose pinks, peach and mint green as a party palette. We made a small sweet table covered with a pink and white polka dot ruffled table cloth. We hung colorful paper poms and an made an “oh happy day” glittered bunting garland to go above the table! We filled the table with chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes with two birthday cupcakes topped with our diy straw birthday candles and homemade marshmallows with fringe toppers! We also made ice cream cone cake pops and our favorite tiny tim cookies. Finally, we displayed a mini birthday cake on my pink milk glass pedestal complete with the little clothes pin cake topper we made.

One of our very favorite aspects to the party was the diy ice cream cone chandelier! {diy tutorial here} Our sweet friend and diy correspondent, Katie, created this project for us and we absolutely adore the way all of the different colored ice cream cones looked hanging on the white chandelier! Although we wanted to keep them all to ourselves, we let each little girl choose one to take home! But we had a few extra to keep ♥! We loved how the girls all put them around their necks…ice cream necklaces!

Since this was of course an ice cream party, we also set up a little diy ice cream topping parlor. We made an over-sized cupcake flag that said “make your ice cream happy” and coordinating ice cream topping flags that we put on paper straws and stuck into the toppings. We hung a big vanilla colored pom with peach fringe over the shelf. We took white ice cream cups and taped wooden “i ♥ ice cream spoons” on them with striped washi tape! The girls got to make their own sundaes, which they loved! Then they got to fill up their bakery boxes with treats to bring home!”
