Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Birthday Party

Events by Kate did a special Charlie and the chocolate factory inspired-”Wonka” themed birthday party for a wonderful ten year old! They had tons of Candy (of course) and plenty of chocolate!

Here is what Kate had to say about the party- “Games- We played “Veruca Salt” Nut Cracking-which involved getting the nuts out of peanut shells. We also played “Create your own Wonka candy” where the children were given colors and a fun page to design their own Candy! We played Oompa Loompa musical chairs, and enjoyed watching the new movie. Decor- I made and themed all the decor to be bright bright bright! The kids all dressed in very bright clothing to suit the theme! And of course, everyone brought their GOLDEN TICKET to enter the party! Candy- We had a chocolate fountain, giant crafted lollipops, and of course a candy buffet. What kid wouldn’t want this for a birthday party theme?!” Vendor List: Décor, Planning, Invitations- Events by Kate Cake- Sweet Spot Cupcakes (collaborative effort with Events by Kate) Photography- de Nijs Photography > Tissue Pom Poms, Plastic Utensils, Apothecary Jars, Plastic Straws, Gumballs, Candy Sticks, Whirly Pop Swirl Lolipops, Miniature Gumball Machines, Chinese Soup Spoons, Napkins, Balloons- All available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop Tissue Pom Poms available to purchase here. Sweet Shoppe 6th Birthday Party

This tender SWEET SHOPPE 6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Brigid Steiner of Pinwheel Parties. And that it definitely is– sweet. I love the soft yellow mixed in with the pinks and greens. The gumball machines couldn’t be cuter. And how darling is the Sweet Shoppe Bingo game cards?! So many fun elements… Here is what Brigid said about the party– “This was an adorable Sweet Shoppe themed party for two 6-year-old friends who share a birthday. I own and rent kid-size tables & chairs, so we formed a large square with the tables and had place settings for each girl. A lollipop topiary served as the centerpiece, and each chair had a pink satin sash. For entertainment, we hired a face-painter, played a lollipop game, sweet shoppe bingo (http://www.birthdayinabox.com/party-ideas/guidesdetails.asp?aseq=1483&bgs=0), danced to the Gummi Bear Song, and of course took turns at the candy buffet.” Vendors: Photography- Tess Smith Photography Invitations & Printables- Forever Your Prints Birthday banner- The TomKat Studio Bags & 3′ balloons- Shop Sweet Lulu Sweet Shoppe sign was designed by my talented friend, Laura Lazzaro

Sweet Shoppe Candy Party

This SWEET SHOPPE CANDY PARTY was a blast to design and execute. I just love all the colors…and SUGAR!

My favorite things about this party–
The ric rac / paper and candy necklace bunting
The milk bottles
The bubble gum machine drink dispenser {took the top off my gumball machine and replaced it with a beverage dispenser}
The various lollipops
The paper straws
The funky ribbon on the candy scoops and favor pails
The chocolate dipped candy sticks
and the chevron bags

Of course, the rock candy cake is also so fun! It was inspired by this cake from Cocoa and Fig. The amazing Kim Stoegbauer from The Tomkat Studio also used a similar cake here.
