Little Man + Mustache Baby Shower

Today I’m showcasing another ADORABLE party submitted by Jessica Roberts of Quilted Polka Dot. This LITTLE MAN MUSTACHE BABY SHOWER is absolutely darling, don’t you think?! I am loving all these Mr. Man themed parties! How cute would this theme be as a 1st birthday party…or even a grown up adult party!

Jessica said- “I created this mustache-themed baby shower for a client who wanted a mixture of the fun mustache party trend with the elegant vintage feel that comes from lace, ruffles, and glitter!

Take out the “Rock-a-Bye Baby” cupcake picks and the party goes from baby shower to boy birthday…

I love using old things and giving new things that old feel. I also like to throw in the unexpected – like using corrugated cardboard as my table runner and an antique wooden crate for height and visual interest. The rough edges of rope and cardboard combined with the feminine softness of the doilies and yarn pom-poms make this overall look! A great juxtaposition of old, new, unpredicted and function.”

Mason Jar + Mustache 1st Birthday Party

This MASON JAR + MUSTACHE 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY was styled by my amazing assistant, Amber Pugmire! Isn’t it absolutely darling?! Every little detail matches the adorable theme…so look at all the photos closely! I hope this helps you gain a lot of ideas for your next party…this party theme is just too cute!

Amber said- “After working for Kara for several months and constantly being around so many amazing parties, I started getting really inspired to throw a huge bash for my son’s upcoming 1st birthday. After noticing a popular trend of using Mason jars for drinking glasses, it hit me that a ‘Mason Jar’ themed party would be perfect since my son’s name is Mason! Kara, of course, had the brilliant idea to make the theme ‘Mr. Mason’ and incorporate mustaches into the mix. Perfect!

I knew I wanted to have the party outdoors since it was summer so I decided to incorporate pinwheels into the theme as well to give it a little bit of a whimsical, summer feeling. I also loved the idea of everything being vintage since that seems to flow nicely with mustaches and canning jars….{continued below}

Continued….”My goal quickly became to do every possible thing with Mason jars that I (or others on Pinterest) could think of! I spray painted one jar, mod podged fabric strips onto the inside of another, tinted several blue (with mod podge and food coloring), painted the inside of a few (by emptying a jar of craft paint into it and shaking to coat it completely), added chalkboard paint rectangles to all of the drinking jars, and I mod podged scrapbook paper onto the lids of almost all of the jars I used. I even made a garland out of spray-painted jar lids! I also used jars to display many of the party elements (desserts, egg salad, flowers, pictures, the guest book notes and pens, the party favor candy, cake!, pinwheels, even bubbles and scissors for the kid’s activities)! Plus, I used jars as decorations by displaying some in a hanging chandelier and making others into hanging lanterns displayed on shepherd hooks. I also used jars of all shapes and sizes to prop up a lot of my serving trays- kind of like Mason jar cake plates. :)

Kori, from Paper & Pigtails, designed the most perfect invitation based on all of the information I gave her about the theme. It was a great way to start the party! I also contacted several vendors that Kara has loved in the past and  ended up with some AMAZING treats! The cookies made by Jen of All Things Exquisite were just adorable and so yummy, while the cake pops from Autumn of Autumn Lynn’s Chocolate Sins turned out exactly how I’d imagined. Then to top it all off, literally, Jen from Sweeten Your Day Cakes came up with the cutest Mason jar cake topper. It completed the cake (which was actually made by Kara at literally the last minute) PERFECTLY. The rest of the food… the mini pies in jars, the pie pops, the hazelnut pinwheel cookies, the tortellini skewers, the egg salad, and the fruit cones were made by my mom and me (mostly by my mom, we actually wouldn’t have had any dinner food if it wasn’t for her!).

Besides eating, we had several activities at the party! Of course, there was a photobooth set up at one end of the yard which was a constant source of entertainment. There were also bubbles in jars with vintage keys to blow through and there was a glow jar craft that the kids all enjoyed. I also found a mustache notepad that I had personalized with ‘Mister Mason’ and set out next to an enormous empty Mason jar with some pens. It was a fun variation on a guest book!

I topped and filled a dresser with party favors. All of the favors were, of course, in jars! There was a huge assortment of old-fashioned candy along with combs and mustaches (both candy and sticker mustaches). I made a sign that said ‘Thank you for combing, we’re sorry you mustache.’ and put it in a frame by the favor jars! There were assorted favor bags for the guests to fill with the candy and trinkets as they left. Also, my friend Jamie offered to “can” dozens of cakes into jars that I could give out as party favors. Since canning the frosting seemed really complicated, Jamie played around with several cake recipes trying to find one that was moist and yummy on its own. She finally found a winner with Paula Deen’s Caramel Apple Pound Cake (don’t be scared away by the surprising ingredient) and it was a HUGE hit!

I had so much fun planning and putting together all of the different party elements, even if it did mean a lot of LATE nights holed up in my basement. I also have to say that I love that Kara has a party shop that literally has everything! It was such a great source of products and supplies (from candy and straws to favor bags and craft punches) that I don’t know what I would have done otherwise! Thank you so much to all of the vendors who contributed their amazing talents and to Kara, my Mom, and so many of my friends and neighbors for their help. Also thank you to the Bishops for letting us use their yard and to Lyndsey Fagerlund Photography for her beautiful photos and her patience with me. I couldn’t have ever pulled it off without everyone!”

Pappa’s Pizzeria Mustache Pizza Party

I am in love with this PAPPA’S PIZZERIA PIZZA THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Jen Hanna of Sweeten Your Day Events! Such a fun and unique party theme that  you don’t see much! How cute are the chef cake pops?!

Party details and description at bottom of post…

“This was a Papa’s Pizzeria: Moustaches & Mozzarella party that I did. For this party, each kid got to make their own pizza. There was a special ‘pizza making’ station. At the table each setting had a personalized chef hat, pie tin (to cook their pizza in), mini rolling pin, and a paddle to roll their dough on. In the center of the table there were the toppings: pizza sauce (in a squeeze bottle to make it super easy for the kids), mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and olives. After each child rolled out their dough, we sprinkled a little cornmeal in the bottom on the pie tin, and then the kids put in their dough and topped. This was also nice because we wrote the names of each child on the base of the tin to know who’s belonged to who and also you could fit 2-4 pizza’s in the oven at a time. While the pizza’s cooked we had a fun little place setting at the dinning room table for them. At each place setting there was an activity placemat, box of crayons, cup with a moustache straw and their personalized party favor bags. Inside the bags was a sheet of adhesive moustaches, a container of salt dough, mini moustache rolling pin, and a thank you card. The activity placemat was so adorable! The kids had so much fun drawing moustaches on the chef, coloring a pizza, and doing the word search! Great job from Southern Belle’s Charm and graphic design done by Frog Prince Paperie! There was also a mini dessert bar for the kids to munch on as well, gotta have one! The table was accented with a chef menu chalk board, moustaches, pizza paddle, and some paper fan flowers. For treats we had: Lil’ Lemon Chef Cupcakes, Pizza Slice Sugar Cookies, Chocolate Moustaches on a stick, and Orange flavored Gelato Push-up Pops. I made little mini chef hats for the pops, tied a checkered handkerchief around the base, and stuck on an adhesive moustache, just a fun way to jazz them up a bit.” Vendor Credits: Party design and details- Sweeten Your Day Events Pizza box invitations, placemats, pinwheel centerpiece, party favor supplies, receipt thank you cards, cartoon cutout chef - Southern Bell’s Charm Graphic Design- Frog Prince Paperie Pizza slice cookies - Katie Duran Favor Bags - Papernook Paper Fan Flowers - Kelsey’s Treasure Moustache straws - Little Retreats Little chef cupcake toppers, chocolate moustache sticks, chef push-up pops - Sweeten Your Day Chef hats, sticky moustaches (in favor bags) - Oriental Trading

Mustache Bash 1st Birthday Party – Photo Booth

This MUSTACHE BASH 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY submitted by Rachel Scott of Sol and Rachel / RV Parties is absolutely adorable! The lime green, navy blue, and aqua color scheme just pops with all the designs and party elements, don’t you think? I love the chevron and little mustache images.

Here is what Rachel had to say about her party- “We had a lot of fun putting together this mustache bash to celebrate my little man turning one! I started with creating a little mustache pattern that went on the invitation, paper decor and a custom printed bow tie for the boys. The foods we served were “little man” foods — mini-burgers, pigs in a blanket, little veggie cups, and “lil man” ade. For sweets we had a mustache cake, little man walking sticks (chocolate covered pretzel rods), and sugar cookies in the shape of mustaches and bow ties. Guests all took home their own chocolate mustache to snack on later. I really can’t imagine a more fun theme for a first birthday party — it was so fun to see guests walking around in their mustaches!” Vendors and Credits- Party Styling: Rachel of Sol and Rachel Printables: RV Parties Cookies: Victoria in Kansas Paper Straws and Twine: DKDeleKtables Custom Fabric: Spoonflower
