Karyn Amado said this about planning the party- “ This party was inspired by a poem entitled,”Hats Off to Mother”.
Hats Off to Mother
My mother’s job is sometimes hard, and I have heard her say,
“The hours are long, and if I could, I’d like to change the pay.”
Her profession has variety, and I will tell you now
About the many hats she wears—and why and when and how.
My mommy’s a nurse who fixes and patches
All of my hurts and my sores and my scratches.
My mother’s a chef who fixes each dinner
Fit for a king—a blue-ribbon winner!
My mom’s a chauffeur who drives pretty slow
But gets me to places where I need to go.
My mom’s a detective, and no one is greater
At getting the truth from me sooner or later.
My mommy’s a gardener and works really hard,
Planting and weeding and grooming our yard.
My mother’s a maid—at least that’s what she said—
My mother’s a handyman, truly a jack of all trades.
My mother’s a queen l—an angel in disguise—
Who teaches the gospel with tears in her eyes.
Today take these hats off, and please wear no other.
Let me do your work, to show I LOVE YOU, MOTHER!
Motherhood equals wearing many hats and this is a tribute to Moms for being versatile and willing to flow with whatever comes their way.”
This unique MOROCCAN MIDNIGHT MOTHER’S DAY AFFAIRE was submitted by Charlene of Chakoda Design. What an elegant way to celebrate mom or to make any woman feel special!
A few of the ideas and elements that I like best in this Moroccan Mother’s Day party are:
The brightly colored satin pillows, drapes and table cloths
The assorted colorful candle holders
The various brass elephants incorporated throughout the party displays
Here’s what Charlene said about planning the party- “This was a celebration for my mom. I wanted to make it a little different than expected. I was picturing something that was a little bit sophisticated and fun at the same time, so a Midnight Moroccan theme is what I came up with. All of the guests had a great time.”

Cris said this about planning the party- “We had a BUNCO party to celebrate my daughter’s 14th Birthday. The girls didn’t know much about the game upon arrival but I explained the rules while they had dinner. We served all my daughter’s favorite appetizers for dinner like zingers, cream cheese/herbs dip(in the shape of a dice – made by my daughter), pizza rolls, dumplings, spring rolls and mozzarella sticks. After dinner we started the game and took a break after a couple rounds for some dessert! As per my daughter request, we had a chocolate fountain! It was a huge hit! None of the girls had ever had the pleasure to enjoy such yummy treat! As for dipping, they enjoyed some fresh strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels and Oreos.
We got back to the game and at that point all the girls were into the game! The music was loud, they were screaming and giggling! We had a bright pink boa that was passed around every time someone else scored a BUNCO! We were able to finish all the 6 rounds of the game! The winner took home the boa as a prize! We also had favors for all the girls! They took home giant plush dice, candy, chocolate bar and beads. After the game we sang Happy Birthday and opened the gifts. We had Oreo ice cream cake(my daughter’s favorite cake), dice cake pops and chocolate cornered fortune cookies for our second round of desserts! The girls loved playing BUNCO and now they want to organize a Mother/Daughter BUNCO Mexican Night!”
This lovely SANTA’S REINDEER DINNER HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS PARTY was submitted by Jennifer Rogers of Cio Prints Design Studio! I am in love with this printable collection, and actually have the exact same plates from Target! Love the design. Jennifer did a fabulous job….such a beautiful party with a lot of ideas…
Jennifer said this about planning the party- “This was a small dinner party for some of our closest friends and family. We wanted to do something special before the holiday season really kicked off and everyone was too busy with prior RSVP’s. After a trip to Santa’s workshop where they have actual reindeer we totally fell in love and had to do a party showcasing these beautiful creatures. We wanted a modern and elegant feel to the party, nothing to over the top. After finding some great reindeer plates and accessories at my favorite store (Target) the inspiration began flowing.
Since there would be both adults and a number of children in attendance, we wanted to have things that both age groups would enjoy. There was a bar option with festive beverages, hot chocolate, apple cider, and cranberry juice for the kiddos. We played a few reindeer games which included a trivia question game that doubled as a small party favor, Christmas carols and a secret Santa exchange. We read “The Night Before Christmas” with cups of milk and lots of hot cookies fresh from the oven. I know it sounds a bit dopey, but it’s a big tradition in my family and sort of funny seeing how into the story some of the adults were.”

And the next feature goes to this fun CRAB BOIL PARTY submitted by Lindsey Marlor of
Pillow Thought. Such a great way to get a group of friends together. This looks so fun. Line a big table with newspaper, cook a lot of crab, melt some butter, add some seasoning and there you have it!
Here is what Lindsey said about the party- “We had a crab boil with our friends this weekend and it tasted amazinggg! Plus, it was super fun to get everyone together! It all started because Edgar Hansen off of Deadliest Catch was at a grocery store near by selling crab & Ty had to “plan” a group date for a class.. so an “end of summer party” seemed like the perfect thing to have. Plus, the weather ended up being so nice this past weekend! If you haven’t ever done a crab boil… you should definitely put it on your list!! Everyone needs to indulge in this experience!”
