This PRETTY PINK VINTAGE WEDDING DESSERT TABLE was submitted by Sarah Osmotherly of Sugar Coated Mama.
The talented Sugar Coated Mama is hosting the Kara’s Party Ideas Australian Tour alongside the amazing Confetti Fair!
SO, back to the lovely wedding dessert table styled by Sugar Coated Mama- I am in love with this gorgeous pink vintage dessert display! It has so many beautiful, delicate elements that would be perfect for so many events from a baby shower to a bridal shower to a girls’ night out!
Some highlights to look for are:
The tea cups and saucers stacked to create a dessert stand
The chocolate bar wedding favors wrapped in paper doilies and ribbon
Sarah said this about the party- “Styling this beautiful girlie vintage wedding table for my client Melanie and her husband Shaun was such a great opportunity to indulge in all the decadent prettiness that gals love – pink, floral, lace, tulle, roses, pearls and most importantly, loads of yummy treats…
STYLE / DÉCORATIONS:
Melanie wanted a vintage table with a modern touch, so we combined pretty florals with the pink and white stripe. The stunning Merewether Beach in Newcastle (Merewether Surfhouse) was the backdrop, so I wanted something very whimsical floating above the table which added style, but didn’t detract from the view. The soft pink and ivory tulle pom poms were the chosen decoration and they worked a treat. Flowers were another important element of this buffet, you can’t have a vintage wedding table without old style roses, and thanks to Jade McIntosh Flowers, the pink roses, white licianthers and green hydrangeas lifted the whole table. Other decorations included vintage tea cups, footed compotes in soft pink, pretty cake stands, pearls, lace doilies and lace ribbon.
YUMMY FOOD:
It is important for dessert table to look amazing, but it is more important for the food to taste amazing. The table consisted of scrumptious vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with Italian buttercream, lemon meringue pies, strawberry mousse shots with cream and raspberries, peanut butter balls (my favourite), coconut slice, vintage cookies, vanilla and raspberry macarons with white chocolate ganache filling, dusty rose handmade chocolate lovehearts, oreo cookie buttercake cake pops, white chocolate coated Raspberries (amazing!!), fluffy pink and white marshmellows, musk sticks, pastel meringues, strawberry nougat and pink bubblegum flavoured jelly belly’s.”

Here’s what Jessica said about the party- “The theme of this Bridal Shower was Parisian- filled with tulle, lace and pearls. The colors focus on pinks and lavenders. The Dessert table was beautiful, and included different types of delicious desserts all in line with the Parisian Theme. Cake pops, macarons, Fleur Di Lis cookies, cupcakes and pink ombre mini cakes. There was an old vintage jewelry box with a strand of pearls hanging from the outside and a special surprise for the bride inside-a pair of beautiful diamond earrings! In front of the jewelry box were cupcakes in a jar that came with individual spoons so that guests could take it home with them. On the opposite side there was fresh pink lemonade on a stand with glass bottles that included pink paperer straws and custom labels for Emily’s Shower. The bottles were lined up on a white tra y. Hanging above the dessert table were different size tulle pom poms in light shades of pink and lavender.
The Tablescape settings were very feminine and had touches of a tea party. Each setting consisted of a tea cup and saucer, custom love note tags tied to the handle with lace and adorned with a pearl, a custom tea bag with the bride/groom monogram, as well as a pink journal with guests initials engraved on the bottom (teacup sat on top of the journal). Place card holders were quite unique- handmade clay macaroons with a slit for the name card to tuck into. The tables were covered in either a beautiful striped cloth to match the outer banquet cushions or lavender cloths for the center tables to match the beautiful parisian dessert table cloth which was adjacent. There were white milk glass bud vases lining the center of the tables filled with roses. In between the vases there were 2 small white cake stands on each table that had pink swirl cupcakes with edible pearls and handmade real lace cupcake wrappers. For takeaways, in addition to the journals and desserts, there were min i bottles of pink moscato with custom labels, detailed with a bow. Decor around the room included apothecary jars filled with solar rose heads, vintage books and old parisian suitcase boxes which housed the mini bottles of wine.”
Valerie had this to say about the party- “Anyone who knows me well knows my affinity for Gingham. It’s kind of a running joke with my friends and family. We see a cute gingham shirt or an adorable gingham little girl dress and they immediately point to me. “That’s totally Val” they say. I can’t help it, though. I just love the simple, classic, and sweet nature of those little gingham checks.
A few months back I came across a gingham styled shoot by one of my event designer idols, Kate Landers. It was one of the sweetest parties I have ever seen and complete eye candy for this gingham-loving-girl. Ever since then, I have been itching to do something fun with gingham too.
For this party we decided to incorporate gingham in sweet girly hues, but the focal point is a super sweet and totally girly SWEETS BAR. When conceiving this party design, I thought back to what made my jaw drop when I was five years old. I, like most little girls, was obsessed with lace, rhinestones, beautiful fabric, lovely flowers and shiny ribbon. So, with that childhood recollection, my design started to take shape.
I stuck with pastels and worked hard to play up playful concepts that any little girl would swoon over. We have a fun gumball cake with adorable gingham fabric pom pom toppers, cupcakes topped with butterfly gingham accents, and cotton candy for every guest. Beautiful fresh flowers add such vitality and a punch of color to the sweets table. No little girl party is complete without a fun and coordinating dining table. I made sure to keep it simple and kid-friendly yet special for all the guests. Each place setting is adorned with a cute cup of strawberry salt water taffy and on each chair back is a fun favor bag, full of sweets (of course) to take home.
Many trends will come and go, but I’m pretty confident in saying that gingham will stick around for quite awhile. Let’s just say that this gingham-loving lady isn’t complaining.”

This bright and cheery SPRING COOKIE DECORATING PARTY was submitted by Annina Hendrick for Enchanting Details.
What an adorable party full of ideas! Some of my favorite elements are:
Annina said this about planning the party- “This cookie decorating party and mini dessert table was part of our Easter celebration- but the theme was really more “Spring”, since there were very few Easter-specific decorations. I kept the colors as soft pastels, and with the morning light filtering in to my breakfast nook, it created a very beautiful and ethereal set-up.
I decorated with ruffled fabric, glassware that I already owned, and a “Sweet Tweet” Bird Printable Kit, which I designed.
The cookie decorating table included a reversible cake plate for the sugar cookies and icing, cake pops in flower pots, and nest cupcakes for guests to snack on. Each setting had a placemat, and a cup of sprinkles. Squeeze bottles full of icing were placed upside down in the cake stand so that the frosting would be ready when we began decorating!
I hung a rosette wreath in the center of the picture window and hung banners around the bay window.
The mini dessert table held a birdcage, which is intended for candles, but also worked as a unique cupcake stand. There was also a plate full of strawberry cupcakes, and pink lemonade.”

This absolutely adorable COWGIRL + RANCH THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Ice Valderrama of Eye Candy Creative Design.
What a precious party for a sweet little girl! I love everything about it…all the details are amazing. Some of my favorite party ideas and elements of this girly western farm party are:
The horse shoe doughnuts
The sheriff star cookies
The rope name
The gingham print and light pink & yellow color scheme
The rose cake
The cowboy / cowgirl signs
And MORE!
Ice said this about planning the party- “I just had the pleasure of Meeting a lovely couple – Jet and Antoinette who asked me to style their daughter’s 4th Birthday Party. They envisioned a classic cowgirl party and had a clear thought on how they wanted the celebration to look like. It was set at their Polo club, just outside the city and the guests were so thrilled by the activities we put together. There were badges, hats, and scarves for all the little cowboys and cowgirls. There were freshly made corn dogs, pineapple juice, snack and desserts that were so yumm! There were activities for the kids and the parents to enjoy and best of all, the Beautiful Horses. At the End of the celebration, the kids were treated with the party favors to take home. It is truly an event we will all remember and I am so blessed to be part of it.”
