i wanted to add a vintage feel to the party. so i found some vintage glasses, and old vintage picnic basket {that i used for the flower arrangement}, a vintage fishing net, vintage fishing lures, vintage dishes, vintage fishing creels, vintage lanterns, a vintage vase, vintage canning jars, a vintage owl..and more.
oh, and i bought some authentic fish fossils off ebay that i used as little coasters….

‘Superman’ Fathers Day Party

for fathers day this year we had a SUPER DAD day!~ i got up early and set everything out to surprise my husband. the awesome printables {banner, cupcake toppers, etc} were purchased through, parties by hardie. i got SO excited when i found them..i had already been planning on doing a ‘superman’ theme so they were perfect! you’ve gotta check her site out! i hung the banner from the ceiling, and put red and blue balloons behind the tablescape to add more color. i found the superdad gift bag at wal-mart {thanks, jennifer}! i made pancake cupcakes {with whipped cream on top} and raspberry muffins for breakfast. i stuck cute little super dad cupcake toppers in ‘em. yes, i said pancakes! i got the idea from my friend, Lyndsey {kitchendoughdough}. when making the ‘cupcakes’ you substitute cake batter with pancake batter! they are so fun, and the kids love ‘em. just spread melted butter on top and add syrup..yum! you can also see the superman tags that i enlarged & made into little cards for my boys to color for their daddy {bottom left hand corner of the above pic}. here’s my youngest holding daddy’s card {the card i bought last month that inspired it all}… and here’s my boys waiting for their dad to wake up and come down stairs…i made their little {big} pj shirts with iron on transfer paper {they said, ‘my dad is a super man’}!…and here’s my hubby & boys eating the ‘pancake and muffin breakfast’…. i hope everyone had a wonderful fathers day!
