DIY Cinco De Mayo Pull String Piñata’s + FREE PRINTABLES!

Do you have any fun activities planned for Cinco de Mayo?! How about a quick and easy activity that will really excite your kids?!

Make these fun and adorable DIY CINCO DE MAYO PARTY HAT PULL STRING PIÑATA’S in no time with a few simple items! Follow my easy tutorial below…

ON TO THE DIY PIÑATA TUTORIAL…

You will need:

Candy (cute colored candy pictured above from Kara’s Party Ideas Shop)

Party Hats (package of plain party hats on sale here)

Card Stock or Construction Paper

Tissue Paper

Bakers Twine or String (Bakers Twine on sale here)

Toothpicks

Party Fringe (available in all colors here)

Hot Glue Gun

Step by step DIY instructions:

Step One- Trace a circle shape the size of the bottom of the party hat.

Step Two- Fill hat with candy.

Step Three- Cover bottom of party hat with small piece of tissue paper. Glue with hot glue around bottom edge of hat.

Step Four- Poke hole in middle of round card stock circle and pull twine through hole.

Step Five- Tie string around toothpick and pull tight.

Step Six- Cover toothpick side of circle with hot glue.

Step Seven- Attach circle piece to tissue paper / bottom of party hat with hot glue.

Step Eight- Wrap party hat in paper fringe (available in all colors for only $3 here). You can alternate colors or leave all the same color. Whatever your heart desires!

Step Nine- Attach string or yarn to the top of the party hat with hot glue.

And VIOLA! You now have a fun pull string piñata!

BONUS- Use the piñata as a party hat once the candy is out of it!

Mexican Fiesta Themed Birthday Party

This cheerful MEXICAN FIESTA THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY was also submitted by the talented Raquel of Raquel Ferrari Eventos.

I just love that this party not only has a great set up but it looks like it was so much FUN! A few of my favorite party ideas are:

7th Birthday Mexican Fiesta!

Ole! I am in love with this 7TH BIRTHDAY MEXICAN FIESTA submitted by Claudia Sigala-Ochoa of Tini Posh! Such a darling party theme with so many great ideas!

Claudia said- “Our little Senor Julian turned 7 in May. Last year after his 6th birthday I had a great idea of a “Siete en Mayo” party theme. However he kept insisting that he did not want a party…until a week before his birthday this year that is! So we decided to push back the fiesta date to June. I asked him if a fiesta theme was ok with him or if he would rather have a character party. He said no to every character theme I suggested and said yes to the fiesta with one condition…there MUST be a water slide! With that in mind, I designed the invitations. Opted for more colorful and festive colors instead of the traditional red, white, and green Mexican colors. The invitation design was the inspiration for the rest of the party. It was the only item I emailed to all the vendors asking them to do what they do, having complete trust in their amazing talents. Could not be happier with the end results! The fiesta was a lot of fun. Julian was beyond happy. It was such a joy to see him enjoying HIS day. Laughing, playing, and sliding with his friends and family.
