“POP” 4th of July Firecracker Party Favors! Free Printables!

Continuing on with the 4th of July theme today, we created these adorable “POP” 4TH OF JULY FIRECRACKER PARTY FAVORS by using push up pop containers {available in my Shop}, ‘Pop-Its’, my free printable alphabet mini bunting banner, card stock, crepe paper, pipe cleaners, bakers twine & silver star garland pieces.

I love how they turned out! Imagine how excited your children would be if you made these for them for a BBQ, Independence Day parade, or a firework show.

Follow the simple tutorial below…

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:

STEP ONE: Fill your push pop container with ‘Pop-Its’ {Push Pop Containers available in my shop here} STEP TWO: Make your miniature pennant “POP” banner by using my free printable template below {click to enlarge & save to your computer} and some bakers twine {find bakers twine at a great price in my shop here} & attach the banner to the container with a little bit of hot glue.

STEP THREE: Cut a 4 inch round circle out of card stock and create a slit going to the middle of the circle. STEP FOUR: Make the circle into a cone shape and glue. Attach the pointed sphere to the lid of the push pop container with hot glue.

STEP FIVE: Take three 6 inch strips of paper streamers {inexpensive crepe paper streamers available in my shop here} and cut small slits along the sides like so…

STEP SIX: Fold the strips of crepe paper in half like so… STEP SEVEN: Adhere the crepe paper fringe to the bottom and top of the party favors with hot glue. STEP EIGHT: Attach a 2 inch piece of silver pipe cleaner to the top of the firecracker favor to create a fuse.

STEP NINE: Cut strips of silver star garland and glue them to the bottom of the push pop container.

And Viola! I hope you enjoy! Stay tuned for more fun 4th of July party favor ideas here on Kara’s Party Ideas this week!

DIY 4th of July Sparkler Party Favors- Free Printables!

I wanted to create some cute and simple 4th of July party favors this year…

Just imagine how fun these SPARKLER FAVOR TUBES would be at a BBQ; or how about handing them out to all the kiddos in your clan at the parade or firework show?

Follow the easy tutorials below by using a few inexpensive items from my shop and the dollar store. These favors can be made with little money and hardly any time at all!

Supplies needed:

Clear plastic gumball tubes- Available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop for only $1.25 here

Red bakers twine- Available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop here

Red burlap/jute ribbon- Available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop here

USA Flag Picks- Available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop here

Matchboxes- Dollar Store

Sparklers- Dollar Store

Smoke Bombs- Dollar Store

I dressed up the matchboxes in two different ways. I used flag picks and regular cardstock for the first set. To find out how to create the fun ribbon type gift topper follow the tutorial below…

STEP ONE- Cut the sticks off of the flags.

STEP TWO- Glue the flags one by one on top of each other, alternating the orientation between each one.

STEP THREE- Attach the flag ribbon strip to your matchbox {or anything you want} and cut off the end.

I also made cute little pinwheels out of regular flag picks. Learn how by following the tutorial below…

STEP ONE- Cut the stick completely off the flag and cut the end of the flag off so you have a miniature square.

STEP TWO- Starting at all four corners, cut a straight line into the center of the square {but not all the way}, leaving a small un-cut space in the center of the square.

STEP THREE- Fold every other corner into the center of the square.

STEP FOUR- Attach the cute miniature pinwheel to the end of a match with hot glue.

These next sparkler favor tubes were made a little differently. These ones have more of a vintage feel to them, which I love. If you would like to use the same tags that I did, click on the image below to enlarge and save to your computer…

I hope you enjoy! I would love to see pictures of your sparkler favors if you would like to send them to me via my submit form! Stay tuned for more fun favor ideas using gumball tubes and other party items!

4th of July BBQ

i need to hurry and post these photo’s from our 4th of july bbq we had the other day before the 4th has come and gone! the 4th snuck up on me this year :).
this bbq was really fun to put together and plan. i purchased the 4th of july pack at paper & cake last month & have been really excited to use it {although i didn’t use everything i wanted to}. good old uncle sam greeted all our guests by the bbq here’s the cupcakes i made with paper and cake’s printables {you buy the pack, download it, print it, and cut and assemble..for those of you that don’t know}. i put drink parasols and round toppers on the cupcakes…along with some 4th of july pinwheels i found at the craft store…i attached red and blue ribbons to some white lanterns and hung them everywhere… a close up of the 4th of july banner…
here’s the plates and snack boxes etc. i actually didn’t use the boxes for snacks though, i came up with the idea to use them as hamburger sleeves! they worked perfectly!…here’s the napkins etc… marshmallow stars {the kids LOVED them. they were gone within minutes}…i bought 4th of july taffy & put it in a star bowl…the table centerpieces & festive coasters {it had gotten dark by the time i snapped this pic}…the watermelon beverage dispenser!! i carved out the watermelon and added the spigot and strawberry watermelon juice. easy, and so cute! {i know, the s is upside down..hehe}…
the hamburger sleeves i was talking about… my friend lyndsey {kitchen doughdough} made some awesome cupcake/brownie shish kabobs! click on her site to see the how to…all the kiddios watching fireworks…
it was a fun bbq! happy 4th of july!!
