This is what Natalie said about planning the party- ”I’m sending you the latest table I styled for a little girl’s 1st birthday and Christening. My client approached me seeking something soft and delicate for her daughters christening. When I suggested Pinwheels, my client was hesitant at first as she pictured the really colourful pinwheels we come across in carnivals. I assured her that we can make these pinwheels soft and delicate. I love it when a client puts their faith in me, which is exactly what she did.
We chose pastels for the colour scheme with an emphasis on feminine pastel colours.
I made 4 pinwheels which sat towards the back of the table and bought the concept to life. I tried to incorporate as many pinwheels as possible though out the entire table. Desserts on the table included pinwheel cupcakes, pinwheel cookies, pinwheel cake pops, pinwheel marshmallows and candy in the chosen colour scheme.
Overall, the dessert table was so delicate and sweet, fit for any little princess.”

This gorgeous FLYING IN THE CLOUDS BABY SHOWER was submitted by Rita Mira of Sweet Little Party in Lisbon, Portugal.
I just love the soft colors and feel of this lovely party! There are so many darling ideas here that could be used for a birthday party or other celebration!
Details about planning the party from Katie-
Party: Eliza’s 3rd Birthday
Location: San Francisco, CA- Golden Gate Park, Koret Children’s Center
Date: April 2013
Guests: 25 kids + 30 adults
Little Eliza was so adorable, her mom asked me to do a Kite themed party! The only direction she gave was that the invitation had to be kite shaped. We came up with all the decor, colors and food in studio. We made sure to keep all the party details a big surprise to Eliza and her family which was so much fun! At the last second Eliza’s Mom said she was totally into “Where’s Waldo” books so we decided to hide little Waldo’s throughout the paper goods for Eliza to find. There were only about 5 of them so she really had to hunt :)
Theme: Kite party with a touch of barnyard vintage
The party took place in front of an adorable vintage red barn in the park. We wanted to create the story of flying kites in the park with your friends with cloud, sun and sky accents and fresh playful prints!
Color palate: Fresh water color aqua, vintage barn red, off cream white
Food and drinks: I knew I wanted it to feel like a picnic so I created these adorable lunch boxes filled with fresh veggies, pinwheel turkey sandwiches made in-house and milk in plastic jugs. Since we had a similar lunch for the parents with lemonade we made sure to add the white cloud to the cold milk and a sun for the fresh lemonade.
Sweets: Keeping with the whole story of the day we had the most adorable cookies created of white fluffy clouds, bright sunny suns and a variety of kites! A sweet berry tart was the perfect birthday cake for the theme and of course the cake pops and pie pops came out to play. These cuties were scene stealers with the adorable kites and cloud details! The kids loved pulling them directly out of the real grass we planted and the parents got a kick out of the pie’s on sticks!
Decor: The barn was center stage for this event so I wanted to frame it with the sweets table and the food table while allowing it to be the main focus. Having the picnic benches and the lunches in front of it created a fun family atmosphere while everyone was enjoying the day. Hand sewn clouds and a kite were created for charm and they were a big hit! A glitter banner with “Happy Birthday Eliza” hung on the barn for all of the park to see and painted paper mache 3′s and E’s were placed on the tables as a tribute to the birthday girl herself celebrating her big day.
Favor boxes: what summer day at a barn does not include berry baskets! Carrying through the aqua, red and white color scheme we created cute berry baskets filled with mini paint sets, a cookie and a mint and blueberry cupcake for the kids to take home. I can’t imagine the cookie and cupcake lasted long but I know they were excited about the mini paint set!

This lovely BRITISH INSPIRED BIRTHDAY PARTY was submitted by Keren of Keren Precel Events.
What a fun party full of darling ideas! Some of my favorite elements are:
The darling British icon heart backdrop
The incredible British inspired cake
The Mac & Cheese containers
The mason jars filled with fruit
The keep calm labels on the milk bottles
And MORE!
Karen said this about planning the party- “This past weekend we had the pleasure to plan, conceptualize, design and cater a beautiful second birthday party in NYC. The theme that was chosen by the client was a British theme, because the child is half British. Inspired by the beautiful British wallpaper in the child’s room, we decided to create a British pictogram visual language, and use it in all of our custom design elements, such as: personal glass bottles, straws, personal paper boxes that were used for serving mac and cheese, chocolate bar covers, garlands, backdrop and toppers. Among other dishes that were served at the party were: personal fruit cups in a mason jar, turkey and beef meat balls, fozzili parta salad with chicken and roasted vegtables, crudite cups with fresh cut vegtables, tzatziki and home made hummus, beef and red peppers empanadas and the most amazing red velvet cake with British fondant decorations. Enjoy!”
This is what Louise said about planning the party- ”‘Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you’…. Dr Seuss is fantastic for both Adults and Kids. We are such big fans. We celebrated in Seussian style with our digital printable set from SunshineParties on Etsy. Our Dr Seuss party was held at home with a close group of friends. It was such a colourful fun party to create.
Decor:
Dr Seuss has many different characters, so we chose to do a Classic Dr Seuss party. As Dr Seuss is fun and quirky, this opened the flow of ideas.
We created the backdrop with fabric we bought from a local fabric store. We made tissue paper pom poms in white and blue to match the colour scheme. Our Flags that hang on the backdrop are printed and handmade. We placed our Party this way that way sign in front of the party table for depth. Laying out the food table was such fun.
The printables include Cupcake toppers, Cupcake wrappers, Birthday Party Banners, Thank you favors, Food labels, Games ideas and so much more! All digital design elements can be printed on a home PC printer and handmade. This makes the party unique and still affordable! With a little creativity this party can be amazing.
Food:
Thinking of food names got the brains working, and was such a hoot! We used Candy Floss as Cotton Candy, a local sweet called Fizzers as our some things, marshmallows dipped in chocolate, strawberries dipped in chocolate, candy wrappers covering Lindt bars. Every food item was either blue, red or white. All the food was a hit!”
