Cue the Confetti Baby Shower

CUE THE CONFETTI BABY SHOWER full of ideas! So cute! Via Kara's Party Ideas KarasPartyIdeas.com

This charming CUE THE CONFETTI BABY SHOWER was submitted by Jessica Flannigan of Live the Fancy Life.

I love how the festive pink and gold color scheme of this confetti themed baby shower could easily be changed to suit a baby boy, a gender neutral shower or baby nursery colors! Some of my favorite ideas in this shower are:
  • The baby themed photobooth props with the polka dot backdrop
  • The varying sizes and colors of circle cutouts attached to lollipop sticks and used as cake toppers
  • The large empty gold frame used as a backdrop
  • The assortment of bubbly and polka dot items used throughout the party adding to the theme
  • The clear plastic tubes filled with round, confetti-like Sixlet candies as party favors
  • and MORE!

Jessica said this about the party- “I teamed up with Cassie of ChubbyMama Cupcakes on a pink and gold baby shower for her fabulous sister Mandi recently. I was hired to focus on event design-the decor, DIY elements, dessert table and champagne/sparkling water bar. Cassie focused on the food and gathering materials. This shower was a lot of fun and the decor was glamorous, but also very eclectic!

The event was hosted at a very cool urban loft-like space called The Engine Room in downtown Minneapolis with exposed brick, hardwood floors, random vintage furniture pieces and high open-beam ceilings.

The mommy-to-be Mandi is a very stylish woman living in Philadelphia with her sweet husband and soon-to-arrive baby girl. She is manager of product development for Urban Outfitters Europe and has great taste so we really tried to emulate her style in this shower.

Cassie came up with the theme “cue the confetti” with a color palette of pinks and golds. She is an amazing cake and cupcake baker/decorator, so the dessert table was a huge focal point. We worked with Shannon of Grace & Guy Paperie to come up with all of the custom “Cue the Confetti” printables. Two of the party signs are available for free download on livethefancylife.com.

The shower was at 10 a.m. so we did brunch including donut holes in cute gold cups, quiche, fresh fruit, a coffee bar, a champagne and sparkling water bar and lots of dessert.

Shower favors were pink and white shimmery sixlets in modern clear packaging to carry the confetti look and feel throughout. We also had a fun photo booth with a confetti wall backdrop made from a simple 3 inch circle punch and vinyl sticker paper from Joann Fabrics. DIY projects include cupcake toppers, backdrops, homemade simple syrups for a beautiful champagne and sparkling water bar and more. The simple syrups were a big hit. We had peach basil and orange ginger. Both taste great in champagne or sparkling water. We brought in tons of gold and white pillows and placed them throughout the event.”

  • The chicken salad served in ice cream cones

This is what Laura said about planning the party- “I was lucky to have some wonderful party girls/friends help me plan my ‘ties or tutus’ gender reveal party! Since this will be our last kiddo, I thought it would be fun to do something that I’ve never done with our other 3 children. I knew right away that I wanted to style this party using the colors yellow & gray! Our 20+ guests indulged in yummy desserts, tasty appetizers, and 3 different fruit spritzers. Drinks were served in milk bottles, and yummy mixed greens were eaten out of Mason jars. Our beautiful cake announced the gender of our 4th baby! We were so excited to finally tell our family & close friends that we are expecting another boy! Cupcakes, cookies, marshmallow pops, chocolate covered pretzels, and cake pops were among the several delicious desserts offered! I created a simple backdrop of yellow, white, and gray paper fans, and refurbished an old dresser I purchased from goodwill, and made it our dessert table! I collected empty wine bottles from my girlfriends, and turned them into simple centerpieces. I had so much fun styling & shooting my party! I worked with a great team of party/dessert vendors – I can’t thank them enough for all their beautiful talent, and delicious creations!”

“What Will it BEE?” Baby Shower

This charming “WHAT WILL IT BEE?” BABY SHOWER was submitted by Kelli McCarthy of Parties By KLM.

There are so many cute things about this bumblebee baby shower! A few of my favorites are:
  • The striking backdrop made out of paper fans in assorted sizes, colors and patterns
  • The sunflower cupcake topiaries
  • The honeycomb pattern Oreos
  • and MORE!
This is what Kelli said about planning the party- “I created this bumblebee themed candy table for the baby shower of a close family friend. The theme of ‘What Will it BEE?’ seemed to be a perfect fit as the nursery is yellow, grey and white and since the mom-to-be doesn’t know if she’s having a boy or girl. There was a wide array of candy and desserts such as, baby peeps, baby penguins, ‘honeycomb’ chocolate covered Oreos, ‘Ba-BEE’ Oreo Pops, Flower Oreo Pops and cookies. I created two baby cupcake topiaries to look like sunflowers with fondant bees buzzing around. The glowing mommy-to-BEE loved everything :).”

Clock Themed Reveal Gender Baby Shower

Is this CLOCK THEMED GENDER REVEAL BABY SHOWER, submitted by Lyndsey Taylor of LuLu’s, not the cutest?! I am in love with it all! Look at all the darling ideas!

Lyndsey said- “My husband and I had the opportunity to design and create our very own gender reveal party. We knew we wanted an original theme and something that our children could participate in. As I researched ideas, I began to envision a modern clock theme and thought it would be amazing for a cuckoo clock to chime and our kids to rush to see the cuckoo bird deliver them a slip of paper that would tell them if it was a boy or a girl :) That was a little farfetched, however, and I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a cuckoo clock. So I was beyond thrilled when I discovered a DIY tutorial on a website for a mock cuckoo clock. We had a close friend that was the only one to know the surprise clip the paper to the clock. A very loud cuckoo clock did indeed interrupt our soiree, and our oldest son rushed to pull the slip of paper off the clock and scream the results to our guests. All in all, it was a blissful evening full of family, fun, and amazing memories. Our desserts included Sugar Cookies by Hayley Cakes and Cookies, Heath Bar Cheesecake Pops, White Chocolate Truffle Cupcakes, Roasted Coconut Cake, Traditional White Cake, and Homemade Caramel Corn for the guests to take home.” Vendors and Credits: Event Paperie and Party Styling- LuLu’s Photography- Kendy Schimmel Cookies- Hayley Cakes and Cookies Cheesecake Pops, Cupcakes, and Cakes by Teri Lee Creations (local caterer) DIY Cuckoo Clock Tutorial- Every Kelly Items used in this party that are available in Kara’s Party Ideas Shop: Giant Balloons Gold Foil Cupcake Liners Clear Cellophane Bags Lollipop Sticks 2″ Paper Punch Ribbon
