I have not been doing dessert tables for a very long time, but I am very proud of my most recent one. The “FROG PRINCE” baby shower dessert table was so much fun. I had never set a table with this theme and it would be completely different than all of the bright, girly colors that I use most of the time. :) Chocolate, green, and frogs were the only requests that were made when I asked the client about the theme that mom-to-be wanted. Because I LOVE color combinations, I added blue to the color scheme and prince to the overall concept as well. I didn’t really want to use lily pads because I knew that’s what everyone would be expecting. I LOVED the look of the wood and it still gave the feel of the frog being in a pond.”
This precious HOT AIR BALLOON CHRISTENING PARTY was submitted by Joanne of Cakes by Joanne Charmand.
There are so many sweet elements in this hot air balloon party! A lot of these ideas could be used for a birthday party or a baby shower, too!
A few of my favorite parts of this celebration are:
The sweet framed photo party favors
The amazingly intricate hot air balloon shaped cake
The hot air balloon cake pops with chocolate truffle “baskets”
This PREPPY GOLF THEMED BABY SHOWER was submitted by Heather of Heather Carpenter Photography. I love that the parents-to-be met playing golf in college, making this the perfect theme to celebrate their baby. This theme is such a fun and unique alternative to a Little Man or Guy in a Tie party.
Some of my favorite elements about this golf themed baby shower are:
This is what Heather said about planning the party- “I was SO happy to help host a shower for my husband’s life-long best friend, Mark and his wife, Amber. These two lovebirds met in college while they were each playing on the men & women’s golf teams there. Even though our group of friends are all grown up now – many married with children- golf still is a HUGE part of all of our lives. After all, it’s what brought us all together! There’s no doubt in my mind that the next generation will be playing it together as well! That said, we thought it would be incredibly fitting to design a preppy golf-themed baby shower for little Cooper! We absolutely LOVED all the little golf-motif details we put into it!
For the decor, we used plain white table cloths with green astroturf runners to resemble the golf course greens. We accented the tables with blue, white and green hydrangeas that we put in clear vases filled with golf balls and water. We strung a navy blue and green bunting banner as well as twelve baby onesies on a clothes line. We gave the onesies to the couple after the shower, so they can photograph baby Cooper each month of his first year!
We had a “19th Hole”, which in golf terminology means “the bar”. We gave the drinks fitting names like “Water Hazards” & “Sweet Tee” to drink, as well as providing the supplies needed to make a refreshing Arnold Palmer or a Club Special. We even framed the recipes for those who wanted to play bartender themselves. For kiddos (including the kids-at-heart and the just plain curious), we served blue bubblegum bottled sodas.
For lunch, since it was an afternoon shower, we had “Club” Sandwiches and “Chip In” potato chips. For dessert, we had a two-tier cake with our navy and green argyle pattern on it. The top of the cake was a golf ball with baby Cooper sleeping on top. We also had argyle monogramed and golfer onesie cookies.
For the party favors, we made the Chex® Muddy Buddies (puppy chow) recipe because it’s one of the boys’ favorite snacks! We packaged them in clear cello bags tied with ribbon and served them in white popcorn boxes (cut out to look like fry boxes). The boxes were labeled “Mark’s Mud Ball Mix”. However, these “mud balls” weren’t the dreadful kind on the course that Tiger Woods’ made famous, they were fun & delicious!”
Today I’m showcasing another ADORABLE party submitted by Jessica Roberts of Quilted Polka Dot. This LITTLE MAN MUSTACHE BABY SHOWER is absolutely darling, don’t you think?! I am loving all these Mr. Man themed parties! How cute would this theme be as a 1st birthday party…or even a grown up adult party!
Jessica said- “I created this mustache-themed baby shower for a client who wanted a mixture of the fun mustache party trend with the elegant vintage feel that comes from lace, ruffles, and glitter!
Take out the “Rock-a-Bye Baby” cupcake picks and the party goes from baby shower to boy birthday…
I love using old things and giving new things that old feel. I also like to throw in the unexpected – like using corrugated cardboard as my table runner and an antique wooden crate for height and visual interest. The rough edges of rope and cardboard combined with the feminine softness of the doilies and yarn pom-poms make this overall look! A great juxtaposition of old, new, unpredicted and function.”

What a cute shower idea! I just love this LITTLE BRAVE MAN BABY SHOWER submitted by Carrie Rowe of Cue the Confetti! The colors, the location, the decorations…it’s all darling!
Carrie Said- “My friend Jennie and I had the joy and honor of throwing a baby shower for our sweet friend Kelli. We went with a semi-modern, arrows, teepees, and feathers theme. We knew it was a good fit for Kelli, we didn’t want (and knew she wouldn’t want) a “traditional” baby shower. Ashley of “Thorn + Sparrow” was on board with the theme and made fun invites and an adorable print as a favor. The party was thrown at Kelli’s in-laws cabin in the woodsy area of Kalispell, Montana and it went so well with the theme of the party! We had plenty if DIY’s (tutorials are at cuetheconfetti.com) from painted wooden forks, arrow cupcake toppers, painted utensils, and more. We didn’t want to play any baby shower games, so instead we all made faux arrows for Kelli to use in the babies room as decor and they are amazing. We offered a large spread of yummy food including “caprese canoes” and “teepee trailmix&q uot;. It was a lovely time to honor Kelli, celebrate this new life, eat food, chat with friends, and just hang out.”
