All Star + Sports Party Details:
This is what Erin said about planning /designing the party- “I have had a tendency lately to go “all out” for parties, but this time I really tried to keep things low key for my son, Cooper’s 6th birthday party. We told him he could invite 6 friends and pick the theme and location, and being the sports enthusiast that he is, he said that all he wanted to do was “play sports in the back yard” with his “best buds.” So that they did. For the decor, I really tried to keep things simple by re-using things that I already had on hand. The Happy Birthday banner was a printable that I created for his party a few years ago and I just added the basketballs. The name banner on the table is held up by bookends which I borrowed from Cooper’s bedroom. The lemonade jars are Starbucks frappuccino bottles, which I have saved over the years to use at parties. For the place settings, I used construction paper for place mats and some old basketball napkins that I found in a drawer t o create a cute little pocket for the silverware, topped off with a fun little sports printable to make it look more polished. The table runner is a “turf” printed tablecloth that I just folded to use as a runner and the “turf” beneath the green frosted brownie bites is scrapbook paper. Even the cake pedestal and brownie platter are just regular glass platters on top of upside down martini glasses. Various small party supplies, such as the green striped favor boxes and favors inside are from a local party store, but pretty much everything else is handmade, reused on created by me. The boys grubbed on pizza and cake, which were the only other things I purchased. The cake was from my good old favorite, Metro Market and I just added the simple banner on the top. If I hadn’t spilled the beans here, I think one might be surprised that I spent under $100 on the whole party!?! What do you think? :)”
