Vintage Pony Soiree Details:
This is what Jacinda said about planning the party- “I was so excited when my Sienna said that she wanted a horse themed birthday party. She was turning 4 and she is absolutely besotted with horses and quite the avid horse rider! We had it at a party venue as I feel that it is always easier to keep a lid on the time frame as well as the cleaning up afterwards. The chosen venue was Old Macdonald’s Party Farm.
They thoughts that I kept in my head through out the entire planning process was horse, but feminine and classy with a touch of old. So I decided to do a Vintage Pony Soiree for her and found the most amazing printables from www.whimsicallydetailed.com I had a few of the posters and cards personalised and Miranda was very helpful at all times.
I created the photobooth area with old saddles and stirrups, lots of hay bales stacked up and then the cowboy hat feature and bandanas for the background. The pictures came out nicely and really helped to set the theme for the party. I also had Rosettes made for the party to use for décor. Some said “Sienna is 4″, “Howdy Partner” “Come saddle up. The theme colours was carried through in this.
Then my catering was done by two Magicians in the field of “cake and treats” that I will almost move my party date so they can accommodate me. The cake was Magical and I briefed Deon as to the colours I wanted. He did a lot of airbrushing on the face and he was instructed to “make a pony that lies in the grass” His work is excellently detailed and the finishes are great. I entertained the grownups with pastel coloured macaroons to fit my theme, carrot cake with rose piping, cute cupcakes and then delicious red velvet Cake Pops. Once again Deon’s finishing touches on the cake pops kept them so girly and delicate.
Lots of yummy treats for the kids as well, Marshmallows dipped in white chocolate, chocolate horses, salted crisps, marie treats on a stick, meringues cake pops in the ice cream cones, cupcakes and the Ice Cream Buffet Bar. You will notice that all my catering was done in the theme colours to keep it soft and feminine.
Apart from that I adorned all the baby hay bales as well as the big ones with a selection of flowers as well as the printables from Whimsically Detailed.
The two pony back drops that I used for the photo booth station and the main table back drop I had made for the party. Don’t think they will go to waste the one will probably become my daughters head board for her bed! The letters were laser cut and then the back drops were white washed.
The thank you gifts I made by myself. Bought the plastic mason jars and cheap horses. Stuck the horses on the jar lids and then spray painted the lids Candy Pink. Attached the Thank You note and filled the jars with baby pink and white marshmallows.
Apart from that the catering had personalization everywhere with the cake being called “Sienna’s Pony” to the horse shoe biscuits having her name on.
I filled the flower pots with Jib, wanted to keep the feel rustic.
All in all it was a great party and Sienna was happy!!”
