Painting Party Details:
This is what Jhoanee said about planning the party- ”My daughter already knew (even earlier in the year) what she wanted to do on her 7th birthday – a Painting Party! Oh what fun we had preparing for this, all the ideas and possibilities.
For the cake, I wanted to do something painting related and at the same time wanted to try something new (a cake with a different structure). So for the first time, I “built” a tiered cake that had the illusion of suspension. What’s a painting party without paint and paint drips!
Of course, everything had to tie in with the theme. I made “paint brushes” – marshmallows and grissini sticks and rice krispy treats dipped in different coloured chocolate. The invitation had a pantone design on it so I incorporated that into the “paint balls”. I made mini chocolate cakes in the shape of paint tubes. Then I made cookies to look like canvases. I thought it would be cute to make paper straw easels (thanks Pinterest!) to put these cookie canvases on. For thank you gifts, I bought clear paint pails and put in it paint tools and accessories. As part of the gifts, there were also chocolate bars and mini chocolate with wrappers that looked like paint brushes. I also had mini boxes made (again, looked like paint brushes) that contained multi-coloured sixlets.
It was such a great party and my little girl, along with her friends, totally had a blast creating their own masterpiece (painting and jewelry box design)”.
